Erii: A Journey Through the Heavens Begins with Frilian

Chapter 128 Why be afraid of Voldemort?

Chapter 128 Why Fear Voldemort? (Two chapters combined)

The main reason is that Erii's room has no magical items, and there is not even a trace of magic that has ever existed, which is extremely illogical for a wizard!

Because Muggle furniture and equipment are relatively troublesome to operate, and often require manual labor, such as washing dishes after meals and mopping the floor, wizards can easily solve these problems with just a few spells.

But Erii also knows a lot about the wizarding world, and most importantly, she manages to find Harry by chance.

Is she a dud?

Hagrid coughed, and his gaze toward Erii became filled with pity.

A so-called Squib is someone born into a wizarding family, with wizarding blood in their veins. They can see things and creatures related to magic, but they have no magical talent and cannot cast any spells.

Such people are pitiful, finding it difficult to integrate into the Muggle world and being despised and ridiculed by most wizards.

"Mr. Hagrid, Miss Uesugi isn't a bad person—"

Harry noticed Hagrid's caution and immediately told him the whole story of how he met Erii, emphasizing her help to him.

Kind-hearted, he glossed over the Dursleys' various misdeeds, not to defend them, but because he didn't want a stranger he had just met to worry about him or feel indignant.

Upon hearing this, Hagrid stopped worrying about Erii's background; as long as he could be fairly certain that she wasn't a bad person, that was enough.

"Harry, pack your things, we're leaving in a bit," Hagrid grunted.

Erii darted up and down in a flash, already carrying her backpack, Tsukuyomi in her hand, and Mugen Camera around her neck.

"I'm all ready." She neatly cleaned up the kitchen waste and packed up the cake to take with her on the road.

Harry stared in disbelief, and after a few seconds of stunned silence, he hurried to his bedroom.

"Um, are you going on a long trip too?" Hagrid asked tentatively.

"I'll come with you," Erii said enthusiastically. "I bet you're taking him to Diagon Alley to buy newborn supplies?"

"Yes, that's right, alright then." Hagrid nodded.

Soon, Harry, his face beaming with joy, also ran out with his bag on his back.

Erii locked the door from the inside and hid the key in the base of the third flowerpot under the windowsill.

Across the street, behind a window, a corner of the curtain was lifted, and Vernon, Penny, and Dudley huddled together, watching the three figures walk further and further away.

"Go! Good riddance! Don't ever come back!" Penny snorted defiantly, but her eyes were filled with incredibly complex thoughts.

It's like saying, "I've raised your son all these years. He wanted to go, and we couldn't stop him. As the saying goes, 'love me, love my dog.' I don't have any feelings for you, so don't ask for so much. From now on, whether he lives or dies is none of our business. That damn magical world sounds wonderful, but how did you two die so mysteriously?"

"Mom and Dad, I want to learn magic too!" Dudley suddenly chimed in.

"No!" The couple turned their heads in unison and shouted.

Erii hailed a taxi in a show of extravagance, driving directly from Surrey to central London, much to the driver's delight, who didn't even ask for a tip.

After casually paying the exorbitant fare, she began her city walk with the starkly contrasting large and small figures, thinking to herself how London hadn't changed much in decades.

Hagrid's unkempt appearance and imposing stature attracted attention along the way, while Erii's flamboyant long red hair was equally striking, drawing many young men who tried to strike up conversations, but all of them failed.

"What are we doing on Muggle territory?" Hagrid asked in a low voice.

"Let's show Harry the world, then we'll eat and go shopping," Erii replied.

Hagrid, preoccupied with the important matter the headmaster had instructed him to attend to, intended to head straight for Diagon Alley. However, upon turning his head and seeing Harry's bright, sparkling eyes, he abandoned the idea, thinking that broadening his horizons in the Muggle world would be a good idea as well.

"Wow~ what's this?"

"Ms. Uesugi, that's Big Ben!"

"London is so lively! Even the most bustling areas of Bethlehem are bustling!"

Harry was overjoyed, chattering away as he used Erii as a search engine.

He would occasionally peek through shop windows at the exquisite toys inside, or stare longingly at the ice cream and cotton candy in the street shops, and his eyes would occasionally wander with longing when passing by clothing stores.

But he didn't bring it up, nor did he make unreasonable demands for Hagrid and Erii to buy it for him; it was as if he was already satisfied with just a few glances.

After all, I ate two of the most delicious cakes in the world today!

They strolled around until noon, then had lunch at a Sichuan restaurant in Chinatown.

Erii spoke fluent and authentic Sichuan and Chongqing dialect, addressed the owner as a fellow townsman, and ordered several of his signature dishes.

This was also the first time Hagrid and Harry had eaten Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken, Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce, and Twice-Cooked Pork with Flatbread. Although the dishes were modified, it was still a refreshing experience for their taste buds.

Harry, who was used to wilted leafy greens, dry bread, and near-expiry cheese, found it a bit greasy, but he especially liked the sweet, sour, and spicy shredded pork with garlic sauce. He mixed it into his rice and ate two large bowls, so full that his eyes were blurry.

Hagrid, on the other hand, seemed to have opened the door to a new world. He ate with gusto, praising every dish. His wild eating habits made the boss laugh with immense pride.

"Where did Miss Uesugi go?" Harry asked, looking around as he returned from the restroom.

"She must have gone to pay the bill," Hagrid muttered somewhat sheepishly as he finished his food. "It's a shame I don't have much Muggle currency. It's rude of her to keep treating me. I'll treat her to butterbeer when we get to the Leaky Cauldron."

"The Leaky Cauldron?" Harry asked curiously.

"Yeah, that's a bar that only wizards can see. You can get into Diagon Alley from there," Hagrid replied while shoveling food into his mouth.

Harry was wearing the new clothes Erii had bought for him. From his coat and pants to his shoes, everything was brand new. His old clothes, which belonged to his cousin Dudley when he was a child, had been thrown into the trash can, which also meant that he was saying goodbye to that terrible family.

He pursed his lips. "Could you tell me about my parents?"

"Didn't the Dursleys tell you?" Hagrid retorted.

"My aunt said they died in a car accident," Harry said weakly.

"A car accident?" Hagrid's voice rose abruptly, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Those two were such people, how could they possibly be killed in a car accident!"

Seeing the astonished looks from the diners, he quickly bowed and apologized profusely. Then, composing himself, he said with respect and remembrance, "James and Lily are undoubtedly heroes, incredibly powerful adult wizards, and for you, they are dearest relatives you must remember for life!"

Harry was shocked and asked curiously, "So what happened to them?"

Hagrid looked around and then lay down. "It was the mysterious man who killed them. They refused to submit to protect you even at the cost of their lives. Just as the mysterious man was about to attack you, a miracle happened. You injured him, causing him to never recover and disappear from our sight."

He brushed aside Harry's bangs. "That lightning bolt scar on your forehead is from back then. And you, Harry Potter, are the only person who can make Mysterio so terrified and flee!"

Harry was completely confused. How did he suddenly become a savior-like figure?

But the brutal murder of his parents was like a heavy blow, causing his mood to plummet instantly, while an unspoken flame of revenge ignited in his heart.

"The Mysterious Man? Is that his name?" Harry took a deep breath.

Hagrid shook his head and said with difficulty, "No one dares to mention his name. It's too terrifying; it's practically synonymous with death!"

The more mysterious it was, the more curious Harry became, and he kept asking questions.

Hagrid rubbed his rough face helplessly, then leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Voldemort~"

"Voldemort?" Harry said in surprise. "That's not exactly a proper name, it sounds like a nickname."

"Shh!" Hagrid quickly covered his mouth, glancing nervously around. "Keep your voice down, in case there are Death Eaters nearby."

"What are Death Eaters?" Harry asked, his curiosity piqued.

"The loyal servants of the mysterious man, a group of evil wizards who have fallen into dark magic," Hagrid said solemnly.

"He has many nicknames, besides the one I just mentioned, there's the Dark Lord, the leader of the Death Eaters, the most dangerous dark wizard in history," Hagrid paused, his eyes filled with anger, "but his real name is Tom—well, actually I'm not sure either."

As a member of the Order of the Phoenix, Hagrid had been hinted at by Dumbledore about Voldemort's true identity, but there was never any direct evidence.

"Are you talking about Voldemort? It must be, it can't be that blue cat." Erii's voice reached their ears.

She came in carrying a large bag and sat back down.

"Shh!" Hagrid warned nervously.

"Aren't you afraid of him?" Harry asked.

Erii asked, puzzled, "Why are you afraid of him?"

Hagrid?

What does it mean to be afraid of him?

Ask any wizard in the magical world, how many are not afraid of Voldemort? Even his most loyal servants tremble at his name.

After eating and drinking her fill, Erii placed the large bag on the table and took out various toys, sundries, and small items from it.

"A birthday present for you." She looked at the stunned Harry.

Harry was shocked to find that everything he had previously glanced at was now displayed in front of him, and he was about to possess them!

He rubbed his sore nose, then suddenly bowed deeply to Erii, "Thank you, Ms. Uesugi, I really like these gifts."

"Hagrid, here you go," Erii said, pulling a Seiko digital watch from her bag. "A little something to mark our meeting."

Hagrid was stunned for a moment, then quickly wiped his hands on his clothes before taking the watch.

Just now, when he passed by the watch shop, he, like Harry, looked longingly at the exquisite watch in the window, but unfortunately he didn't have many pounds on him, so he had to give up.

The thought that Erii had so carefully observed his micro-expressions and then specially bought them for him made Hagrid want to cry.

It turns out there really are strangers in the world who are this kind to me!

ummm

It wasn't just a thought; my eyes immediately welled up with tears.

Hagrid said, his voice choked with emotion, "Thank you so much, Erii. We've only just met, and I even suspected you might be a bad person when we first met. I'm so sorry~"

"It's okay, it's okay." Erii waved her hand.

She wanted to say that this wasn't the first time they had met. Whether it was Hagrid or Harry, you both accompanied me during my most helpless and lonely times. Although we were separated by a screen, the warmth you brought me was intense.

Erii is perhaps indirectly making up for her childhood self, right?

Although she was the head of the Uesugi family, who had no worries about food and clothing and could write checks for hundreds of thousands of dollars at will, she still had many unfulfilled regrets from her youth.

For example, keeping a wild giant panda at home, or riding Godzilla around the world.

These things could also be called "thank you fees," since without Harry and Hagrid, she really didn't know how to access the magical world most efficiently and quickly.

After finishing their meal, the three of them stopped dawdling and took the subway to Charing Cross Road in London.

On a bustling street corner, they paused between a bookstore and a record store.

"This is the Breaking Cauldron Bar. Erii must have been here before, right?" Hagrid said.

To Harry and his companion, there was indeed a pub in front of them, with an old and dilapidated black sign and decor.

However, no matter how many times Erii blinked, she couldn't see the Broken Cauldron.

The most amazing experience was that what she had seen in the movie turned into an empty wall in reality.

Powerful Covering Spell!

Muggles can't see it at all, which is why there are so many people on the street, yet not a single one has noticed the Leaky Cauldron.

This bar was founded by the witch Daisy in 1500 with the intention of serving as a bridge between the Muggle and wizarding worlds, and at that time Muggles were allowed to come and go freely.

However, with the enactment of the International Wizarding Secrecy Act, the Ministry of Magic designated the Leaky Cauldron as an officially authorized safe transit point, thus prohibiting Muggles from accessing it.

"Let's go in." Hagrid pushed open the door.

Harry followed closely behind, while Erii clung to his shoulder, entering the room as a form of "wizard accompaniment."

hum~

She had no magic power within her, but she clearly sensed that she had crossed some kind of energy barrier.

The scene suddenly changed, and a medieval-style tavern filled with the smell of tobacco and alcohol came into view.

The room was cramped and dimly lit, with old, peeling walls and rows of wooden tables and chairs covered in patina, with many candles lit on them.

In the dim, warm light, the disheveled male and female wizards occupied most of the chairs. The environment was a bit poor, but the atmosphere was extremely lively.

Some were playing cards that made sounds, some were chatting while drinking rich butterbeer, some were drinking a glass of flaming whiskey at the bar, and there was also an old witch with a hooked nose huddled in a corner smoking her pipe.

It felt like stepping into an adventurer's inn in a Western fantasy world, where a white-haired witcher might appear at any moment and invite Erii to play a game of Gwent.

"Oh! Hagrid, long time no see, still the same as always?" the bar owner said with a smile.

He was a bald old man with a face full of peach pit wrinkles, and he did look rather cunning, but Hagrid whispered to Harry, "Don't be afraid, Tom is quite gentle and friendly, and he's a well-known informant."

"No, thank you. I'm doing some work for Hogwarts, after all, Harry's about to start school," Hagrid replied with a hint of smugness, proudly patting Harry on the shoulder.

Unexpectedly, the boss's expression changed, and he stared at Harry incredulously, making Harry feel uneasy.

"My God, he's the legendary Harry Potter?!" the boss exclaimed, almost in tears.

In an instant, the bar fell silent. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to Harry, who looked timid.
