Reborn, my online friend is the real me.

Chapter 25: Are you really in love?

Back in his dorm that evening, Su Yu turned on his computer, found the script for "Our Times," read it through from beginning to end, corrected a few typos, and then sent it out.

He sent Luo Jing a message: "Do you have Liu Yifei's QQ number? I sent it to her email, just in case she doesn't receive it."

Luo Jing replied with a number, which Su Yu copied and pasted, added as a QQ friend, and wrote in the verification message "Su Yu from the Photography Department, the script has been sent to your email".

After waiting for about five minutes, my friend request was accepted.

Liu Yifei's QQ profile picture is a white flower, and her online name is "Crystal".

Su Yu opened the chat box and sent a message: "Hello, senior sister, the script has been sent to your email. Please check your inbox. Thank you, senior sister, sorry to bother you."

The other end replied with a single word: "Okay."

Su Yu stared at the word "good" for three seconds and felt that this style was completely different from An Qian's.

Anxi's chat is a continuous stream of messages, with emojis flying everywhere.

Liu Yifei can be summed up in one word: aloof and cold, like an iceberg.

He closed the chat window, then opened Anxi's window and sent a message: "I'm treating Liu Yifei to dinner today."

Anxi replied instantly: "??? You really invited her? She went?"

"I went, and I even invited her to act in my new film."

Anxi: "What did she say?"

She said to send her the script so she could take a look.

Anxi sent a laughing emoji: "Then you've got a chance, Director Su! My goddess is going to act in your movie."

"Don't talk nonsense, they're just being polite. Big stars don't have time to make my low-budget movies."

Anxi didn't reply to the message, so Su Yu assumed she was busy and didn't send another one.

.......

Meanwhile, in an apartment in a residential complex in Chaoyang District, Liu Yifei sat in front of her computer, unable to suppress the smile on her face.

Shu Chang poked her head out from outside: "What's wrong with you? Why are you grinning like an idiot at the screen?"

Liu Yifei quickly wiped the smile off her face: "It's nothing, I'm just checking my emails."

Shu Chang walked over with two cups of hot milk, handed her one, and leaned closer to look at the screen: "The script for 'Our Times'? Who wrote it?"

"Su Yu".

Shu Chang raised an eyebrow: "Didn't you already check it using Anxi's identity?"

Liu Yifei took the milk cup, took a sip, and the milk foam stuck to her upper lip like a small tuft of white beard: "That was the first draft, this is the revised one; I want to see what he changed."

Shu Chang sat down next to her and gave her a meaningful look: "You're wearing a vest that's quite sturdy."

Liu Yifei ignored her, opened the script, and started reading from the beginning.

The first line of text on the first page catches the eye.

"Every girl has an impossible person living in her heart."

Liu Yifei's finger lightly traced over that line of words, and the curve of her lips widened slightly.

Looking at her expression, Shu Chang couldn't help but sigh, "It's over, you're really in love."

Liu Yifei pulled the script up to cover her face: "Don't talk nonsense, I'm reading the script."

The way you look at a script is like you're looking at a love letter.

"Sing!"

"Okay, okay, I won't say anything more." Shu Chang raised her hands in surrender, took the milk glass, and went back to the kitchen.

.......

Liu Yifei and Shu Chang chatted until very late. After seeing Shu Chang off, Liu Yifei closed the door, leaned against it, and let out a long sigh.

The living room light was still on. Her mother, Liu Xiaoli, sat on the sofa, holding a fashion magazine with a blonde, blue-eyed foreign model on the cover.

Liu Xiaoli was wearing a light pink loungewear set, and her hair was casually clipped back with hair clips, making her look much softer than usual.

"Shu Chang left?" Liu Xiaoli didn't even look up.

"Okay, I'm leaving." Liu Yifei kicked off her slippers, walked barefoot to the sofa, plopped down next to Liu Xiaoli, and rested her head on her shoulder.

Liu Xiaoli flipped through the magazine and said in a nonchalant tone, "What did you guys talk about today? You've been talking for so long."

Liu Yifei traced circles on the sofa armrest with her finger, hesitated for two seconds, and said, "Mom, I want to tell you something."

"explain."

I want to act in a movie.

Liu Xiaoli paused for a moment while flipping through the magazine, then continued, her tone unchanged: "What movie? Who directed it?"

"There's a junior from our school, a 04 graduate in photography, named Su Yu." Liu Yifei lifted her head from Liu Xiaoli's shoulder, turned around and looked at her seriously. "He won the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin Film Festival this year, the one I told you about, 'The Black Hole.' He's currently writing a feature film script, a coming-of-age film, and he wants me to play the female lead."

Liu Xiaoli put down the magazine, took off her reading glasses, and turned her head to look at her daughter.

Her gaze was calm, and Liu Yifei knew that beneath that calm was a sophisticated analysis system operating at a speed of ten thousand revolutions per second.

"Su Yu? Is that the guy you recommended the song to?"

Liu Yifei nodded.

"When did you meet him?" Liu Xiaoli's tone was slightly wary.

"Um...we met a few days ago. He found me through a classmate, saying he wanted to thank me for recommending his song and treated me to a meal. During the meal, we talked about his new script, and he said he wanted me to act in it."

Liu Yifei spoke fluently because she had rehearsed the speech several times.

Of course, she omitted the "Anxi" part, as well as the entire history of her two-year online chat with Su Yu.

Liu Xiaoli was silent for a few seconds, then placed the magazine on the coffee table. "Xixi, do you know how packed your schedule is for the second half of the year? You're going to Japan for training in September; Sony has already made the arrangements. After that, there's album recording and promotion. How will you have time to film a movie?"

"Mom, his movie will be filmed during the summer vacation, which will only take two months; I can finish filming before my training."

"Two months? A movie can be filmed in two months?"

"It's a low-budget independent film, not a big production. He said the shooting period was only two months."

Liu Xiaoli frowned slightly. Liu Yifei knew this was her mother's standard expression when she was thinking, so she quickly pressed on, "Mom, listen to his songs. They're the ones I recommended at the press conference."

Liu Xiaoli hesitated for a moment, then took the headphones and put them on.

Liu Yifei pressed the play button, and the first song was "By the Lake Baikal".

Liu Xiaoli's expression didn't change much while listening to the music. She took off her headphones and returned the MP4 to Liu Yifei.

"This song is well-written; did he write it?"

He wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and sang the song.

"You just said you didn't want any payment?"

Liu Yifei nodded slyly: "Yeah, he said it's a low-budget film with a limited budget. But he can write songs for me as payment. You've heard his songs, and they're all pretty good; I need good songs for my album release."

Liu Xiaoli leaned back on the sofa, deep in thought. After about half a minute, she spoke up: "Give me a copy of his information, and I'll ask someone about it."

Liu Yifei was secretly delighted, but pretended to be calm: "Okay, I'll send it to you tomorrow."

Liu Xiaoli glanced at her, and there was something in her gaze that Liu Yifei was very familiar with; it wasn't suspicion, but scrutiny.

"Sisi, tell me the truth, do you have feelings for this Su Yu?"

Liu Yifei lowered her head, her voice barely audible, "Mom, what are you saying? I just met him. I just think he's talented and I want to work with him."

Liu Xiaoli stared at her for two seconds, then smiled, a very slight smile.

"Okay, I'll look into it first. If he's really as good as you say, Mom won't stop you."

Liu Yifei rushed over and hugged Liu Xiaoli's arm, pressing her face against her shoulder: "Thank you, Mom, you're the best."

Liu Xiaoli patted her head with a smile, "Don't thank me too soon. I still need to read the script and ask about his reputation in the industry. A movie isn't child's play; I can't just accept any role because you're alumni."

"I know, you should find out first."
