The animal trap was the old-fashioned kind.

It is made of iron and has rusted, but its biting force is considerable.

Su Chen gripped the sides of the clip with both hands.

Even when you try to pry it open, the clamp won't budge.

He adjusted the angle.

Place your foot on the base of the clamp and use all your strength to pry it upwards.

The clip loosened slightly, but quickly snapped back into place.

The wounded wolf whimpered in pain, but did not bite him.

Su Chen tried three times, but couldn't open it.

He was looking for a wooden stick to use as a lever.

Ling Feng suddenly swooped down and landed next to the animal trap.

The eagle hooked one side of the trap with its talons.

The wings flapped, helping to lift it upwards.

Su Chen quickly grabbed the other side and, with Ling Feng's help, snapped it open.

With a click, the animal trap opened.

The injured wolf pulled its front paw out of the trap.

There was blood on its claws, but the bones weren't broken, and it could still move.

Su Chen carried the wolf out and placed it on the ground outside the trap.

The wolf struggled for a moment, but did not attack him.

Use the same method for the remaining two animal traps.

With Ling Feng's help and Su Chen's effort, they opened them one by one.

All three wolves were rescued.

Two of its front paws are injured, while one is intact but weak.

Su Chen took out the first-aid gauze he always carried from his pocket and bandaged the injured wolf.

The wolf trembled in pain, but did not flinch.

She even licked Su Chen's hand with her tongue.

Black Fang stood in front of the three wolves and sniffed them.

Then he tilted his head back and let out a soft howl.

The three wolves immediately lay down, ears tucked behind their backs and tails tucked between their legs.

This is a gesture of submission.

Su Chen knew that Hei Feng was recruiting new members.

He crouched down and patted each of the three wolves' heads to establish a bond of loyalty.

[Grey Wolf's loyalty is being established... 71%]

[Grey Wolf's loyalty is being established... 73%]

The three wolves were all half-grown, less than a year old.

It's a size smaller than Black Fang, but has a good frame.

If raised properly, it can grow into a large wolf.

Su Chen gave them names.

The one that was most seriously injured was called Gray Shadow.

The other two are named Gale and Snowclaw.

The gray shadow's front paws were badly injured, and it walked with a limp.

Gale and Snowclaw are in much better condition, just weak, but able to walk normally.

Su Chen decided to take them back to the ranch.

Black Fang led the way, with the three new wolves following behind.

Su Chen brought up the rear, while Ling Feng kept watch in the sky.

When passing through the northern grazing area, Su Chen stopped to look at the cattle.

Big Flower led the cattle to graze on the pasture.

The number of cattle matches the count: 479, not one missing.

The pregnant cow was kept in a separate area.

Juan, who was standing guard nearby, saw Su Chen wave from afar.

Su Chen waved in response and continued walking back.

Back at the ranch, old Jack was on duty at the entrance guardhouse.

Seeing Su Chen return with three unfamiliar wolves, he was stunned for a moment.

"Mr. Su, this..."

"We rescued it from the woods to the west. It was trapped in a trap, so it will stay on the ranch from now on."

Old Jack nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

He'd been working with Su Chen for so long, he was used to it.

Tom peeked out from the guardhouse, glanced at it, and gave a thumbs up.

"Another new member has been added to the family."

Su Chen led the three new wolves to the pet rest area.

Black Fang's wolf pack was already waiting outside the rest area.

Black Fang walked over and touched noses with each member of the wolf pack, as if he were reporting on the situation.

Then Black Fang led three new wolves into the rest area.

He assigned them seats towards the back, while he stood guard at the entrance.

Su Chen brought over some water and chopped meat, and placed them in front of the new wolf.

Gray Shadow lowered his head and drank water, taking several large gulps.

Then they started eating meat, and ate it very quickly.

They wolfed down their food, as if they hadn't eaten in a long time.

The same goes for Gale and Snowclaw.

The three wolves ate the meat clean, even licking up the crumbs on the ground.

Emma came out of the main house, holding a notebook, saw the new wolf, and walked over to ask:

"How many more have you rescued?"

Su Chen briefly recounted what had happened.

Emma crouched down, watching the new wolf from afar, and took notes in her notebook.

"New pets added: Gray Shadow, Gale, and Snowclaw, rescued in the Western Pine Mountain Forest Area."

"Their claws are injured; should we take them in for a checkup?"

Su Chen shook his head.

"It's a superficial wound, nothing serious, it'll heal in a few days."

Emma stood up, looked around, and lowered her voice:

"Some people in the town are afraid of wolves. Should we keep this from being told to others for now?"

Su Chen nodded.

"Let's not talk about it yet; we'll reveal it once they're fully domesticated."

Emma closed her notebook and went back to the main house.

Su Chen opened the ranch map.

A circle was drawn around the location of the western Songshan Forest Area.

The presence of traps in that area indicates human activity.

It could be a hunter, or it could be a poacher.

We need to include that area in our reconnaissance scope from now on, and have Ling Feng fly there more often.

He then looked at the cattle herd data.

The goal of the main quest is to obtain 500 heads.

We're still short 21 head, and we need to get them from the auction as soon as possible.

After eating the meat, the new wolf felt much better and began to stand up and walk around.

The gray figure limped.

But they still followed Hei Feng and took a walk around the rest area.

Black Fang helped them familiarize themselves with the environment.

From the rest area to the fence, and then to the outside of the livestock shed.

I walked through each area and delineated the temporary activity area.

Su Chen followed behind, observing the new wolf's reaction.

Gray Shadow was still a little nervous about the new environment and would hide behind Black Fang when he saw strangers.

Gale is bolder and dares to sniff around everywhere.

Snowclaw is somewhere in between, neither hiding nor actively exploring.

In the evening, Su Chen tested the new wolf's command acceptance rate.

He shouted "Stop!"

None of the three wolves reacted.

Black Fang growled softly, and they stopped.

He called out, "Sit down."

Gray Shadow hesitated for a moment, then sat down.

The gale and snow claws didn't move.

He called out, "Come here."

Only Black Fang walked over.

The three new wolves stood still.

They have a low tolerance for commands and their wildness hasn't completely subsided; it will take time to tame them.

Su Chen wasn't in a hurry; that was normal.

Being able to save them is already a good start.

Before nightfall, Black Fang led the wolf pack on a short patrol.

The route covers the south side of the ranch and the east side of the fence.

The gray figure followed at the back of the group, limping and walking slowly, but not falling behind.

Gale and Snowclaw, walking in the middle, were already keeping up with the main group's speed.

Su Chen stood at the entrance of the main house, looking around, and felt much more at ease.

With the expansion of the wolf pack, security capabilities can be further enhanced.

Starting tomorrow, the focus will be on training these three new wolves and integrating them into the security system as quickly as possible.

I also need to find time to go to the auction house and buy back the 21 calves to make up the shortfall of 500.

Su Chen turned and walked into the main house, where Emma had already set dinner on the table.

"What are the plans for tomorrow?" Emma asked.

"Taming wolves in the morning, going to the auction house in the afternoon."

"How long will it take to tame those three new wolves?"

Su Chen thought for a moment: "Quickly, with Hei Feng here, it won't take more than a few days."

A low howl came from outside the window, short, just one sound, as if setting rules for the new wolves.

Then came the sound of the wolf pack returning to their resting place, their paws rustling on the gravel.

Su Chen took a bite of rice and started planning for tomorrow.

.......

Early the next morning, Su Chen arrived at the pet rest area.

Three new wolves huddled in the innermost corner.

Upon seeing Su Chen approach, his body immediately tensed up.

The gray figure even took two steps back, pressing itself against the wall.

The wildness remains.

Su Chen didn't go in directly; he stood at the doorway.

Activate the Beast King's affinity, and warm energy is slowly released.

Black Fang emerged from the wolf pack and stood beside Su Chen.

His gaze swept over the three new wolves, and a low whimper escaped his throat.

This is not a warning, it's reassurance.

Gray Shadow was the first to relax; her ears no longer clung to her back, and her body stopped trembling.

Gale and Snowclaw relaxed, but still kept their distance.

Su Chen walked into the rest area, squatted down, and stretched out his hand.

The gray figure hesitated for a moment, then slowly walked over.

She sniffed Su Chen's fingers and then rubbed them against him.

Gale and Snowclaw also came over.

The movement was slower than Gray Shadow's, but it still brushed against Su Chen's hand.

Gray Wolf's loyalty increased to 78%.

Gray Wolf's loyalty increased to 75%.

Gray Wolf's loyalty increased to 80%.

Su Chen patted their heads one by one and began to tame them.
