A priest in North America, what the hell is the Demon Gate system?
Chapter 25 The Priest Sets Off
Li Ang briefly explained the situation of the railway, then casually interlaced his fingers in a Godfather-like gesture and leaned back in his chair.
"Do you think those vengeful spirits might be the Chinese laborers from back then?"
Shirley said with a complicated expression, "Isn't that obvious? Those Chinese workers... are even worse off than us female workers who were tricked into coming here. I've become a vengeful spirit, how can you expect them to forgive everything?"
"That's just how you Americans are. You're always at the forefront of exploiting the poor. Everything you do is for money."
Li Ang waved his hands repeatedly: "Stop! I'm a pure-blooded Chinese, don't drag me into this. I've never touched money, I'm not interested in money!"
"Heh." Sherry rolled her eyes.
"Ahem, alright, go back and rest. I might need your help tonight." Li Ang said without changing his expression, and then emphasized it to Shirley again.
"Don't let me down, okay? We're in a relationship where my success is your success, and my failure is your failure."
Shirley pouted and transformed into a stream of light to return the Soul Banner. Li Ang put away his magical artifact and got up to walk towards the church's dormitory area.
Before even entering the house, Li Ang could smell the aroma of meat.
The sizzling sound of frying food came from the kitchen. Li Ang pushed open the door and saw Sister Nia standing in front of the stove, holding a spatula and flipping the bacon in the pan. To be honest, Nia's cooking skills were not very good. She actually made the bacon stick to the pan, which is such a high-oil food.
The headscarf was clearly very absorbent, and beads of sweat clung to her cheeks. Over her nun's habit was a rather cute apron with illustrations of The Simpsons printed on it, but the apron was obviously too small, probably donated by the faithful, and the ties were tied tightly at the back of her waist, which only accentuated the curves of her waist and chest.
Hearing the door open, Nia turned around, somewhat flustered: "Father Li?! I'm sorry, I didn't get the temperature right just now..."
"It's alright, we've got a job. We've been commissioned to exorcise demons." Li Ang leaned against the doorframe, his gaze unconsciously comparing the two.
Wang Bingbing embodies the sophisticated and capable beauty of an urban elite, while Nia possesses a more down-to-earth beauty, especially in her current apron-wearing look, which exudes a wonderfully approachable charm.
As for Sulli, every time she appears, she's either bickering or being overly sweet, so it's really hard to comment on her.
"Is that the lady who came in earlier?" Nia asked, looking up.
"Yeah, the railway construction site is haunted. We'll have to go check it out tonight," Li Ang said.
"Well, here's the plan: we'll leave at eight. You should prepare the exorcism supplies: a cross, a Bible, and that goes without saying. Also, remember to print out an exorcism disclaimer."
"Father, you are wise."
Nia nodded, turned around and bent down to get eggs from the refrigerator. This movement caused her nun's dress to flutter slightly, and Li Ang noticed that her thick black stockings gleamed delicately under the kitchen light.
"Wang Bingbing's seems to be 20D, but 80D is also good."
Li Ang is actually under a lot of pressure, so he occasionally comes up with little ideas to lighten his mood.
It's really because of the pressure, really!

After dinner, Li Ang returned to his office to make final preparations. He took stock of his possessions: he had 35 contribution points left, so he spent 25 points to fill up the bullets for the Holy Judgment.
I didn't waste the remaining ten points either. I spent nine points to exchange for three bottles of holy water, and finally only one point was left, which I treated as a lucky coin.
After checking my mana again, it's basically at its best. I can cast Blood Fiend Finger three times and use Breath Concealment Technique for about three minutes at the same time.
"If all else fails, I'll just be Li Paopao (Li the Runaway)." Li Ang set this as his basic principle.
"Han Laomo was able to survive until the end because of his fast legs. I'm only at the second level of Qi Refining, so there's no need for me to play the hero."
At 6:50, Nia arrived at the church entrance carrying her exorcism kit. Her headscarf was neatly arranged, with a fringe covering her right eye.
Speaking of which, Li Ang asked her why she always covered her right eye, as it seemed to be against the rules.
Nia simply said that it was a special permission granted by the monastery, and that she had a congenital defect in her right eye.
Li Ang knew the basic principle of the Chai family well—don't ask women about their appearance and age, so he naturally stopped asking.
"Let's go." Li Ang took the suitcase and walked towards the parking lot.
The white RAV4 drove out of the church in the twilight. In late May in Pennsylvania, it gets dark late, and a faint red glow still lingers on the horizon.
The car quickly passed through the town and headed northeast along the country road toward the old railway.
The road was quiet. Li Ang didn't like driving at night because he always felt sleepy, so he turned on the car CD player and played some country music.
Li Ang really enjoys tapping the steering wheel to the rhythm of the music. If it weren't for the inconvenience, he would probably play two ancient-style DJ tracks right now.
Nia sat in the passenger seat, her fingers clutching the cross on her chest, seemingly reciting scriptures.
Li Ang glanced at her and said, "Relax, Sister Nia, we're just going through the motions."
"Father, I...I'm a little nervous."
"There's nothing to be nervous about, Sister Nia. We're just going to spread the Lord's power. We can always buy a bag of candy at 711-Eleven when we're done, right?" Li Ang reassured her with a smile.
"But I heard from other people this afternoon... that place seems to be really haunted, I'm afraid you might be in danger..." Nia said softly. Her words made Li Ang pause in the rhythm of his fingers, but then Li Ang turned to look at Nia and showed a gentle smile.
"Don't worry, the Lord will protect us."
Li Ang followed the navigation on his phone, and to be honest, this navigation was much worse than domestic navigation apps like Baidu and Dede. If Li Ang hadn't been paying close attention to the roadside signs, he could have easily gotten lost.
It was already dark when Li Ang manually turned on the headlights, and the halogen headlights quickly illuminated a small section of the road ahead.
Following the signs, the car turned onto a dilapidated gravel road, surrounded by weeds as tall as a person.
After a bumpy ten-minute ride, a wide-open construction site came into view. A sign for "Tiangong Group" hung on the fence. Inside, there were several idle construction machines, a few rows of RVs, and a prefabricated house, which should be where the workers lived.
Further away, a rusty railway track winds its way into the dark forest.
Li Ang stopped the car, but did not get out immediately. Instead, he closed his eyes and slowly expanded his consciousness.
Since breaking through to the second level of Qi Refining, his perception range has expanded to 30 meters, and the details around him have gradually emerged: the workers chatting in the RV, Wang Bingbing making a phone call in the only prefabricated house, Nia's black stockings, and the little birds sleeping peacefully in the distant woods.
As for the direction of the railway tracks, Li Ang found nothing unusual. The cold tracks had been lying there for a hundred years and had never done anything out of the ordinary.
Li Ang opened his eyes, his expression grave.
"The biggest problem is that there are no problems. I really wish I could see a bunch of ghosts playing cards on the railway as soon as I arrived."
With that thought in mind, Li Ang opened the car door.
The two got out of the car, walked through a gap in the fence towards the construction site, and the wind blew through the trees, rustling the leaves.
Soon, the two stopped in front of the prefabricated house.
Li Ang stopped and took a deep breath.
"Come on, the show is about to begin."
