Chapter 92 Broken Back

"Hmph, Daredevil, do you think you can challenge me all by yourself?"

Kingpin's voice was completely flat, showing that he didn't take Daredevil seriously at all, just as he had before.

"I was prepared, but I didn't expect it would be you who used this trick."

Kingpin sighed, unsure whether it was because it was a waste or because Daredevil was a pity.

Matt felt a chill run down his spine; he realized he had been tricked.

Gunfire continued, and bullets rained down on him. Although he was agile, he was still somewhat disheveled under the dense barrage of fire.

He quickly rolled to dodge, while looking for an opportunity to counterattack.

However, Kim did not give him a chance to catch his breath.

He recited the ancient incantation again, and the magic of the treacherous words enveloped Matt once more, making him feel intensely dizzy and nauseous.

The surrounding scenery distorted again, and Matt almost lost his balance. He was hit by several bullets, and blood flowed from his body. Matt groaned and quickly adjusted his body.

Just then, Kingpin moved swiftly, taking advantage of the opportunity to approach Matt.

The Tzeentch Blue Flame in his hand burned fiercely, as if it would turn all obstacles into ashes.

"That's the end, Daredevil!" Kingpin roared, unleashing a fierce slash of flame from his hand, aimed straight at Matt's vitals.

Matt fought desperately, throwing a punch with all his might, but was ultimately struck by Kingpin's flames. He was thrown away by the immense force and crashed heavily to the ground.

As Matt was thrown out by Kingpin's fiery impact, the entire space seemed to freeze for a moment before an even more intense aftershock of the battle erupted.

A cold glint of victory flashed in Kingpin's eyes, but he did not let his guard down. Daredevil seemed to have accepted the deal as well, and might have some special superpowers. If he was careless, he might end up making a mess of things.

"Hmph, it seems you still don't know me well enough, Daredevil."

Kingpin sneered as he looked around, where his men had already been silently deployed.

These men, dressed in black bodysuits and wielding various weapons, stood like ghosts in the night, awaiting Kingpin's orders.

"Come out, it's time to end this farce."

Kingpin waved his hand lightly, and his men, who had been hiding in the shadows, emerged and quickly surrounded the heavily injured Matt, forming an impenetrable encirclement.

Matt struggled to get up, but the intense pain in his body and the aftershocks of the previous magical attack left him almost unable to move.

He gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with an indomitable light; even in the most desperate situation, he never gave up hope.

"Don't look at me like that. You're here to kill me today, but I'll spare you because you helped me before."

However, it has to be so that you can't get in my way anymore.

Kingpin walked up to Matt, waving his fist and pounding it into Matt's body again and again, each punch accompanied by a heavy thud, as if announcing the end of Matt's fate.

Kingpin's strength was so great that Matt's body felt as if it were being repeatedly struck by a boulder. Each impact caused him excruciating pain, and blood spilled from the corner of his mouth, staining his clothes red.

Matt tried to fight back, but after the first punch landed, he clearly felt a bone break.

With each increasingly ferocious punch, Matt became more and more powerless to move.

However, even in such dire circumstances, Matt remained steadfast and unyielding.

He gritted his teeth and didn't utter a single groan.

Upon seeing this, Kingpin's lips curled into a cruel smile.

"Daredevil, I'm not going to bother you anymore. You're already half-crippled. From now on, you'll be in a wheelchair forever."

After Kingpin finished speaking, he reached out and grabbed Daredevil, then slammed Matt's waist heavily onto his knee.

Matt let out another painful groan from the violent impact. He felt as if his spine had been struck by a heavy hammer, and an indescribable pain instantly swept through his body.

"Hmph, this is what happens when you make an enemy of me."

Kingpin's voice was deep and powerful, each word a threat squeezed out from between his teeth. He held Matt like a toy about to be discarded, completely indifferent to Matt's pain and struggle.

"Now you'll never be able to stand up again."

Kingpin sneered and threw Matt heavily to the ground.

Kingpin looked at Daredevil lying on the ground, groaning, and nodded in satisfaction.

This self-proclaimed righteous Daredevil has now been brutally defeated and completely incapacitated.

"Alright, go call the police."

Kingpin casually said this to one of his underlings, who paused for a moment, clearly not understanding what Kingpin meant.

"I said, go call the police and let them come and clean up the mess, didn't you hear me?"

Kingpin's voice grew even colder, and his underling immediately realized what was happening and quickly pulled out his phone to call the police.

Daredevil had saved Vanessa's life, and Daredevil had said he wouldn't kill him. So, after he was no longer a threat, the police had to come and rescue this "hero of justice."

"Director, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I may not be able to continue doing this job you gave me."

Matt lay curled up in his hospital bed, speaking weakly.

Even if the doctor didn't tell him the result, how could he not know it himself?

In the future, he may not be able to stand up, and naturally, he will no longer be able to serve S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Matt, what can I say about you? You always go in full of confidence, only to come back with a beating. You're just like Erzhuzi."

Although Matt didn't know who Erzhuzi was, he could understand Xia Ling's meaning.

"I'm sorry, Chief, I..."

"To be honest, the bureau has recently acquired some high-tech equipment that can be used on you. If it works, you can stand up again."

This turn of events was something Matt hadn't anticipated; he thought that if he wanted to get back on his feet, he would have to shamelessly beg the Yellow-Eyebrowed Buddha.

Thinking about this makes me feel ashamed. I did nothing after listening to the Buddha's teachings, yet I was beaten so badly and had to beg the Buddha for help. I have no shame at all.

However, does the bureau now possess technology that can cure him?

Perhaps noticing Matt's confusion, Coulson took the initiative to explain.

"This is the father of Princes Thor and Loki. The King of Asgard shared advanced technology from Asgard with us for the sake of peace between the two sides."

Matt finally understood what was going on, but he still didn't understand why Odin did it.

"Don't think too much, just get some rest."

Since Odin has already promised to work for him after his death, why not take advantage of his life to squeeze every last drop of value out of Asgard?

Anyway, Thor is a spendthrift, and he might just squander all of Asgard's wealth.

If that's the case, then it's perfectly reasonable for me to spend the money for him in advance, right?
