Chapter 29 The City of Many Disasters

Chapter 29 The City of Many Disasters

Tony's face was quite grim, a mixture of fear, confusion, and bewilderment.

This book even predicted his palladium poisoning. Combined with recent events, all of this evidence suggests that the book's contents are not fabricated out of thin air, but are genuine prophecies.

If he is destined to die from palladium poisoning, is there any way to reverse this fate?

Indeed, it was true. As Tony continued reading, he found the corresponding opposite side.

"Howard Stark's death was inevitable and destined, but Tony Stark's was not. If he can find Yahweh's messenger, then he may be able to find redemption."

Messenger of Yahweh?

Tony's head started to ache. Putting aside the question of whether Yahweh existed, where was he supposed to find his messenger?

Shaking his head to clear his mind, Tony patiently continued reading.

"The power of the past will awaken, and the Lord of R'lyeh will no longer be content to slumber. His gaze will be turned toward the land, and perhaps even the humble mortals can attain His glory."

Perhaps His brother won't stand idly by. In the ensuing struggle between them, will the city of New York survive?

The book ends abruptly here, marking the conclusion of this volume.

The content wasn't extensive, but every single detail sent chills down Tony's spine.

This is no longer a grand and vague prophecy, but a concrete statement that two terrifying deities will awaken, and New York may be destroyed in their conflict.

Furthermore, he mentioned his own death, saying that if he couldn't find the messenger of Yahweh, he might lose his life.

Whether for his own sake or for the safety of the city, Tony must find Yahweh's messenger as soon as possible. Although it is not mentioned in the book, I believe he can resolve the feud between the two gods.

Or perhaps the next volume of the Book of Claes will solve this problem?

With that in mind, Tony took out the magic conch shell, intending to seek out this magical item that seemed to solve all his problems.

After all, just as the magic conch shell had said, the Book of the Gorgon had actually come into his hands without him having to do anything.

"Magic Conch Shell, how should I resolve the feud between these two ancient deities, or how should I protect New York?"

After pulling the cord, the magic conch quickly responded, as usual.

"It's hopeless, just wait to die. Goodbye!"

Tony was stunned; he never expected the magic conch shell to give such a direct and cold answer.

Magic Conch Shell, you've changed. You weren't like this before.

Tony calmed himself down and prepared to ask the second question.

"Then, Magic Conch Shell, please tell me where the second volume of the 'Book of Gorgias' is? And how can I obtain it?"

After saying that, Tony pulled the rope again, and this time the magic conch shell did not make him give up on treatment.

"Do nothing."

Tony felt his blood pressure rise slightly, and his veins were about to bulge. This was the same answer as last time: as long as he did nothing, the book would naturally fall into his hands.

But there's no time for that now; who knows when those two gods will start fighting?

Moreover, waiting is not his style; Tony is used to taking the initiative and finding solutions to problems.

"Then how do I find Yahweh's messenger?"

After thinking for a moment, Tony pulled the magic conch's cord for the third time, hoping that this time the magic conch's answer would be more reliable.

"Go be Natalie's dog."

"What?"

Tony could hardly believe his ears; he wondered if he had misheard.

But the familiar, slightly mocking voice of the magic conch shell echoed clearly in his ears, forcing him to confront this utterly absurd answer: "Go be Natalie's dog."

Tony's lips twitched. He looked at the magic conch shell in his hand, as if to confirm whether this magical gadget was really playing a joke on him.

But the magic conch shell lay there quietly, without the slightest ripple, clearly answering his question earnestly.

"You mean I should become her dog, and then I can find Yahweh's messenger with her help?"

Tony forced a smile and pulled the cord again.

"Yes."

This time, the magic conch shell's answer was brief and clear, without the slightest hesitation or joking. Tony had to take this seemingly absurd yet direct guidance seriously.

"All right,"

Tony sighed. Although he was still reluctant, he knew this was not the time to be stubborn. The city was in imminent danger, and thinking about the lives of those people, Tony simply couldn't accept letting them all die for his own dignity.

"What should I do? I can't just actually go and become her pet, can I?"

With those words, Tony had already compromised halfway.

However, his pride prevented him from overcoming his psychological barrier and actually becoming Natalie's dog.

Tony gritted his teeth and pulled the cord again, hoping the magic conch shell would spare him some face.

"If you don't want to be her dog, you can try licking her feet."

"What?"

So you made him lick the secretary's feet?

Are you kidding me!

He, Tony Stark, is a super genius, a billionaire, a playboy, a philanthropist, and Iron Man, a superhero!

Even if Tony were to die from palladium poisoning, be killed by a monster, or die at the hands of terrorists, he would never lick her feet!

Tony's face turned ashen instantly, a mixture of anger and shame swirling within him, and he nearly crushed the magic conch shell in his hand.

"The Magic Conch, are you... are you really trying to humiliate me on purpose?" Tony's voice was low and hoarse as he tried to squeeze out the words through clenched teeth before pulling the cord.

"No, I'm just trying to help you."

Utterly shameless!

Tony was so angry he laughed. The magic conch shell was really rubbing his pride into the ground.

However, Tony hesitated when he thought about the suffering that the citizens of New York would soon endure. But perhaps there were other ways?

"The magic conch shell—is there any other way to resolve this incident?"

At this point, Tony pulled the rope again.

"no."

The magic conch shell's answer was concise and straightforward, which put Tony in a difficult position.

"Okay," Tony finally relented, but his tone revealed an indomitable tenacity.

"I will try to communicate with Natalie, but definitely not in that way. I will find a more dignified way to seek her help."

He put away the magic conch shell and went to the top floor to look out the window.

The city lights still shone brightly, but beneath this tranquility lurked an unknown crisis.

I wonder what it will be like when the crisis breaks out.
