Chapter 11: Losing His Daughter and Being Dismissed

Chapter 11: Losing His Daughter and Being Dismissed

"Now, immediately, at once, launch an attack and capture that monster!"

Inside the command center, Ross roared at General James.

Just now, the helicopters they sent over were blown up, and his daughter was forcibly taken to the camp by Banner. Her condition is still unknown.

Logically speaking, the military has a strict hierarchy, and subordinates must obey superiors.

Although Ross is a high-ranking general in the army, he is currently only a lieutenant general.

He had to bow his head before the general.

This time, however, he had finally mustered the mental strength to let his daughter Betty persuade Banner, just like last time.

There was really no other way. This time, the Red Giant destroyed his base and even kidnapped his most capable lieutenant.

Bronsky, in particular, even brought his own provisions, betrayed them completely, and became Banner's confidant.

He also wanted to strike hard and catch Banner again.

Although Banner spared his life, it didn't mean he wouldn't arrest Banner.

No way, that was his only hope for further advancement, how could he just give up like that?

But while the idea was wonderful, reality was quite disappointing.

First, we've just suffered a major blow and our strength isn't enough; second, those men won't allow it.

The men already knew what had happened. They hadn't taken Banner's constant talk about the Blood God seriously, assuming that the Hulk had lost his mind after mutating into the Red Giant.

However, when the men noticed that the soldiers who followed Banner had also received Banner's so-called blessing, they fell silent.

Even if Banner is strong, the men won't care. He's just a peasant after all. How could he possibly overthrow them these days?

However, the appearance of the blessing made them no longer able to underestimate Banner. Perhaps, there really is a god behind him.

Then Banner was transformed into a messenger of the gods.

When dealing with a divine messenger, one cannot simply capture him and put him in a cage as one would with monsters.

He is a person of status now, and both sides should be mindful of appearances.

Otherwise, no one wants to know what the consequences would be if they angered this Blood God.

"Ross, watch your words! That's not a monster, but a precious citizen of our country, an envoy sent by the Blood God. How dare you use the word 'monster' to slander him?"

General James gave Rose a warning look, which caused the latter's expression to change slightly.

Times have changed; Banner is no longer a laboratory animal that he can manipulate at will.

Now, they have powerful backers.

If you continue to treat him the way you used to, it probably won't be Banner coming over to crush your head, but rather you'll end up shooting yourself in the back eight times and committing suicide to apologize to Banner's messenger.

"Then what do you suggest we do? My daughter has already been captured, and the special envoys we sent have all been killed. Are we just going to stand by and watch?"

Ross suppressed his anger and spoke in a low voice.

"Wait a little longer and see what the higher-ups say. You don't need to worry about your daughter. With Banner's strong lower body, she might be very happy."

As for those special envoys, don't worry. It's their honor to die for their country. I guarantee their families will receive their compensation. Are you satisfied now?

There is no problem that money cannot solve. If there is, it is because the money was not enough. I believe their families must be very happy that their son or husband sacrificed his life for the country.

As for Ross's daughter? Hmph, it's her honor to serve the messenger of God; many people would love to dedicate themselves to her but don't have that privilege.

Besides, Rose's penis isn't unusable; he can just have another one.

"So when exactly do we have to go? Is there a specific timeframe?"

Rose stared intently at Admiral James, trying to find a hint of relaxation or guidance in the other's eyes.

General James remained silent. Facing Ross's intense gaze, he did not immediately give a clear answer. Instead, he slowly walked to the battle map in the center of the command room and stared at the complex situation and potential threats marked on it.

His silence seemed to freeze the air, and the only sound in the command room was the faint hum of the instruments.

"Ring ring!"

Just as Ross was getting impatient with the atmosphere in the command room, the phone rang. General James quickly answered the phone, his eyes still fixed on the battle map, but his expression became unusually serious.

"Hello, this is General James."

A deep voice came from the other end of the phone. General James's brows furrowed, and he nodded occasionally to show his understanding or agreement.

A few minutes later, he hung up the phone, turned around, and looked at Lieutenant General Ross with a look of both determination and helplessness in his eyes.

"Ross, the situation has changed." General James's voice was steady and powerful. "Instructions have just come in that, given the power Banner has displayed and his 'blessing' of our soldiers, we need to reassess our strategy."

He took a deep breath and continued, "They demand that we immediately cease all hostile actions against the Banner Envoy and attempt to establish channels of communication to resolve the current crisis peacefully."

They also indicated they would send a high-ranking representative to have direct dialogue with Banner's envoy.

Upon hearing this, Ross's face turned ashen, and he could barely contain his emotions: "What about my daughter? Is she just being used as a bargaining chip and left aside?"

He roared, his voice filled with anger and helplessness.

"Ross, I understand how you feel right now, but the higher-ups have already made a decision. Regarding your daughter's situation, we will do our best to communicate with the Banner messenger and strive for her safe release."

But before that, we cannot take any actions that might escalate the conflict. Given your emotional instability, and to avoid angering the other side, you have been dismissed.

Ross clenched his fists so tightly that his nails almost dug into his palms. He tried to control his emotions, but the anger in his voice was still hard to hide.

"Dismissed? Just because I didn't do what you wanted? You just abandoned me and my family like this? Thrown me away like trash?"

"I'm sorry, Ross, times have changed. We've never overlooked your abilities and contributions, but at this crucial moment, we need to use other means to achieve our goals."

Seeing Rose remain silent, General James comforted him, "Don't worry, Rose. I'll do everything I can to bring your daughter back safely. Maybe you'll even get a promotion then."

General James, who casually offered Rose a rosy picture, didn't notice the pair of eyes behind him, eyes filled with extreme anger.
