Traveling Through Journey to the West: I Am the Dragon King

After regaining his senses, Yun Chonghua sensed this special power.

This force did not negate the original immortal power within him.

It simply remained inside his body like a docile little dragon, completely at his mercy.

King Yu replied, "Little child, you have far too many questions. Why don't you listen to a story I'll tell you? This story will answer all your questions."

Yun Chonghua laughed and said, "Older people all like to tell stories."

King Yu laughed and said, "Let's start with your question from earlier, 'Why is there a lack of human spirit?'"

Then King Yu began to recount the secrets passed down from ancient times to the reigns of the emperors.

"This story begins with the first human emperor, Emperor Fuxi..."

Then King Yu spoke with Yun Chonghua about the origin of the power of the three realms, as well as the events of the last time the universe was restored.

What King Yu said was almost identical to what the White Crane Fairy had said at Buzhou Mountain. The only difference was that the White Crane Fairy described the disaster from the perspective of a deity, while King Yu told it from the perspective of a "human".

The only slight difference between the two was that they added a detail that the White Crane Fairy hadn't mentioned before: the balance of the "Three Powers."

However, this was not something that Fairy White Crane deliberately concealed; rather, this detail was a secret known only to the controller of the power of the Three Realms.

King Yu said that the power of humanity is a "pillar" supporting heaven and earth. Only when the powers of the three realms (heaven, earth, and man) are in balance can heaven and earth remain stable. Any imbalance of any power will bring disaster to heaven and earth.

Yun Chonghua could understand this statement, since a triangle is the most stable structure.

"In order to prepare for the next calamity and prevent the balance of human power from being disrupted, Emperor Fuxi divided the complete power of the Human Emperor he inherited at the beginning of the new era into 2918 streams. Four of these Human Emperor streams were infused into the new humans created by the Goddess Nuwa, becoming part of their flesh and blood. In later generations, any human leader with great virtue or who is respected by the people can obtain a portion of the power of these four streams and become the ruler of the human world."

After listening, Yun Chonghua nodded thoughtfully and said, "So that's how it is. No wonder the emperors of later generations all died so young. It turns out they only had four strands of fortune on them. Moreover, these four strands of fortune were evenly distributed among so many people in the world."

Yun Chonghua looked at King Yu and asked, "But what does this have to do with the Nine Cauldrons? Where are the remaining fourteen streams of fortune?"

King Yu continued, "That's what happened later. But you're wrong about one thing. The original Human Emperor didn't just have the four strands of fortune that were infused into everyone's blood. As the successor of the Human Emperor, he himself had five strands of fortune. If he gained the support of the people, his five strands of fortune would resonate with other strands of human fortune, gain the recognition of humanity, and thus obtain the complete power of the Human Emperor."

"However, because of the Nine Cauldrons Plan formulated by Emperor Fuxi and Goddess Nuwa, and the 'Nine-Five Supreme Ruler' Feng Shui Formation that I completed, the only ones who have truly mastered the complete power of humanity are the first human emperor, Emperor Fuxi, Emperor Xuanyuan who fought against Chiyou, an anomaly of heaven and earth, and me, who finally completed the Nine Cauldrons Plan and the Nine-Five Supreme Ruler."

Yun Chonghua countered with, "Oh? Then where is the center of the earth?"

King Yu smiled and replied, "Right beneath your feet. The land of China, the land of the gods, the central plains. 'The center is the great foundation of the world; residing in the center, one can govern all nations.'"

Yun Chonghua wasn't surprised by Yu the Great's answer. After all, in this Journey to the West world, no matter where you went or which secular country you visited, the people there all spoke Chinese, used Chinese characters, and practiced Chinese culture. Surnames were also common, like the "Hundred Family Surnames" (Zhao, Qian, Sun, Li). They even celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival.

In this world, the "Chinese civilization" of Jambudvipa truly achieved the great ideal of "governing all nations by residing in China".

King Yu said, "Back then, Emperor Fuxi divided his imperial aura into eighteen streams, four of which merged into the body of the progenitor of humankind. As for the remaining fourteen streams, under the arrangement of Emperor Fuxi and me..."

As shown on this geomantic map, these [unclear characters] are distributed throughout the nine provinces of China. This is why, since ancient times, our Central Plains has been the Celestial Empire, while the surrounding powerful states, though strong, could only pay tribute to the Central Plains. This is because the power of humanity largely resides within our Central Plains.

"Of those fourteen strands of destiny, nine were preserved by the Goddess Nuwa using the power of the earth within nine ley lines. This is also the beginning of the Nine Provinces Cauldrons Project. As long as the destiny of humanity remains preserved in the center of this earth, then as long as the land of China does not perish, humanity will not perish."

"Because this land vein meanders and twists like a long dragon, we call it a 'dragon vein.' And the dragon vein is not static, as the mountains and rivers change. When the mountains shift and the seas change, the dragon vein will shift. And when the dragon vein shifts, it will release a portion of the human energy."

"A geomancer who understands feng shui and can observe qi can, if he deciphers the direction of this dragon vein, find the leaked portion of its qi and use it to build a capital, or bury his ancestors as 'sacrifices' on the dragon's lair, and thus obtain this portion of human fortune. The amount of fortune one possesses determines one's fate. Those with high fortune can become kings and nobles, those with low fortune can become high-ranking officials, and those with even lower fortune will become wealthy merchants."
