Apocalyptic Hoarding Diary

Chapter 326 Underground Passage

Soon, in a little while, she will be able to drive this modified car to the underground passage that Grandpa Yu mentioned.

She stood at the shop entrance, munching on her breakfast, but her mind kept wandering to the other underground passage that Grandpa Yu had mentioned.

What kind of passage is it? Where is it? How can I find it?

She was so anxious she wanted to scratch the wall.

Suddenly, a brilliant idea flashed into her mind.

website!

The internet is free these days! And with so many people in the dungeon, someone must have noticed something! She refused to believe that no one had noticed anything unusual!

She immediately took out her phone and opened the forum on the official website.

The official website of Dungeon Fighter Online has a forum where people usually chat, sell things, look for others, complain, ask for directions, and do all sorts of things.

She opened the forum, went directly to the "casual chat" section, and started browsing the posts.

The forum is much more lively than usual. Before, there were hardly any people on the forum, and even when a few night owls posted, it was still deserted.

But now, the latest replies are all timestamps like "just now," "1 minute ago," and "3 minutes ago."

Online user count:

She began to search purposefully.

Keywords: passageway, gate, vehicle, exit, ground...

After flipping through a few pages, I quickly gained something.

A post titled "[Something strange happened after work last night, does anyone know what happened?]"

She clicked on the post around 1 a.m. yesterday.

The post is short: I live in the East District. When I got off work early this morning, I found that there was a new gate on the road I usually pass by.

It was a really big iron gate, and several cars were driving in. I stood there and watched for a while. Only cars went in, but no cars came out. Does anyone know what that place is?

A picture is attached below.

The picture is blurry, clearly taken secretly. You can see a huge door in the darkness, with a pitch-black interior.

You can vaguely see cars driving in; the outlines of the cars are large, like trucks or SUVs.

Xu Xiaoyan's heart raced. She clicked on the large image and looked closely, even zooming in on the edges of the picture, trying to find more letters, but unfortunately it was too blurry and she couldn't see anything clearly.

She immediately exited the post and continued scrolling down.

Another post, titled "Does anyone know what's going on in the East District?"

The post was also made late last night.

"My friend lives in the north of the East District. He messaged me last night saying that a lot of cars suddenly passed by his area, and it continued until midnight."

He sneaked out to take a look and found that a normally abandoned road had been blocked off, preventing anyone from getting close. "Does anyone know what's going on?"

Someone replied below, "I saw it too! I live nearby and heard noises outside last night."

I opened the door and took a look. There were cars lined up and heading north, one after another, for several hours.

Someone else replied, "Did something happen? Are you running away?"

Another person replied, "Why are you running? Do you think you can escape?"

Xu Xiaoyan quickly scanned the replies, found nothing useful, and continued scrolling down.

Another post appeared: "Is anyone around Parking Lot 12 in the East District? It seems quite lively there tonight." The post was made around 3 a.m.

"I've been working overtime until now and just got back. When I passed by parking lot number 12 in the East District, I noticed that there were a lot of cars parked there, and they were all big vehicles, like SUVs and trucks."

There were people standing nearby talking, looking very serious. I didn't dare go near them and quickly left. Does anyone know what's going on?

One of the replies below caught Xu Xiaoyan's attention.

"I know! A friend of mine lives right next to parking lot number 12, and he said that a lot of cars started gathering there around midnight last night?"

This reply was followed by several question marks, and someone even asked, "Really? What are they doing gathered there?"

The person replied, "I'm not sure, it was my friend who told me. He said he saw a lot of cars, but he didn't know the specifics and didn't dare to ask any more questions."

Xu Xiaoyan stared at the reply, her mind racing.

Parking lot number 12 in the East Zone.

Vehicles assembled.

Putting all this information together, she could roughly guess what had happened.

That underground passage is very likely located near Parking Lot 12 in the East District. After the troops set off, some well-informed individuals also followed, which is why it was so lively there.

She browsed through several other posts, and the content was all similar—some people saw a strange gate, some discovered a gathering of vehicles, and some heard noises in the middle of the night.

Some people speculated that something might have happened, and that smart people should have already noticed something amiss and might have already set off.

She glanced at the time on her phone: 5:13 a.m.

Looking at the small truck still under repair in the shop, I couldn't help but sigh.

The foreman was still busy. Two workers stood next to him, one helping to hand him tools and the other checking the newly assembled parts. The three of them were working around the car, sweating profusely.

She knew that rushing wouldn't help; the car wasn't properly modified, so she couldn't leave.

Even if she knew where the passage was in advance, she could only stare blankly.

Walking there? That's impossible.

She needs to drive, she needs that modified vehicle, otherwise even if she gets to the passage, she won't be able to keep up with the troops' speed, not to mention there might be a longer road ahead.

She leaned against the door frame, forcing herself to take a deep breath.

The fact that Grandpa Yu was able to call her means he hasn't gone far. With so many people and cars around, he certainly couldn't have gone very fast.

If she gets the car ready and goes at full speed, she should be able to catch up.

But the prerequisite is that the car needs to be fixed quickly.

She turned to look at her master, wanting to urge him, but swallowed the words back.

The master craftsman has already done his best. It's the middle of the night, and he's working overtime to finish the job for her. He hasn't been lazy or slacking off. If she keeps urging him, it's a bit ungrateful.

She looked away and then back at her phone screen.

People are still posting, asking questions, answering questions, and speculating on the forum.

A new reply caught her attention.

"I just came back from there! There are still cars moving around!"

This is followed by a string of question marks and exclamation marks.

Xu Xiaoyan's heart started racing again.

She glanced at the car in the store, then at the time on her phone, and silently prayed.

About ten minutes later, the repairman finally straightened up, put the welding torch aside, wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve, and shouted, "All done!"

These two words hit Xu Xiaoyan's ears like heavenly music.

She practically sprang up and rushed to the side of the car. The driver was taken aback by her display of force, then laughed.

"So rushed?"

Xu Xiaoyan didn't have time to answer; her eyes had already scanned the car from front to back, and she couldn't help but nod in satisfaction.

She reached out and touched the car door; the solid feel of it reassured her.
