Chapter 4 Interrogation and Analysis
Unlike the interrogation rooms in police stations, the interrogation rooms in narcotics squads are noticeably more rigorous.
The first thing Zhang Hui did upon arriving at the anti-drug squad was to review the interrogation records of the assassin. There was nothing of value in them, except that Zhang Hui noticed the man's name was Sompasan, a cyclist from Siam.
I couldn't help but chuckle. Even the name was fake. It seems they really didn't find anything out of the investigation.
After Zhang Hui finished reading everything, fearing that things might change if he delayed, he didn't rest. He began to interrogate the so-called Songpashan again that night, accompanied by a professional translator.
Upon entering, I immediately noticed Chatchai's defiant gaze, suggesting that the previous interrogations had been particularly "mild."
Before Zhang Hui could even speak, Chachai immediately glared at him fiercely. This was really annoying; it seemed he was certain that Zhang Hui's arrival had led to his current predicament.
Zhang Hui wasn't going to let him get away with it. He secretly added 5 points to his strength option, stood up, and walked up to him. Without saying a word, he bent down, grabbed Zhang Hui's shoulder, and stared intently at him without saying a word.
He gradually increased the pressure on his hand, and his eyes revealed his complete indifference towards him. Before long, Chatchai was in so much pain that he started sweating. He only let go before Chatchai could no longer help but cry out.
Of course, all of this was done with his back to the recording equipment, and in the subsequent video, all you can see is Zhang Hui using his aura to put pressure on the other party.
There was no other way; interrogating foreign drug traffickers like this was a serious criminal case, and the entire process had to be recorded. If Zhang Hui hadn't had the merit of apprehending suspects, he might not have had the opportunity to interrogate them here.
After giving the other party a hard time, Zhang Hui sat back in his original seat, but this time he leaned back lazily and ignored his partner taking notes, only letting the translator start translating the next words.
"Songpashan, it seems you already know. I was the first person to spot you in the stadium. I must say, I really admire you."
"I've always believed there are three most reckless behaviors in the world: tax evasion in the US, hostage-taking in Russia, and drug trafficking in China!"
"Let me tell you another case. Two years ago, we arrested four drug traffickers at the border who were trying to cross the border with drugs. After interrogation, we found that one of them was from a drug trafficking group in Southeast Asia. Later, their government sent a letter for extradition, but we refused to send them back to their country. We didn't need to worry about anything. In the end, they were sentenced to death."
After saying that, he casually pointed at the person opposite him and continued, "You don't actually think you can get any other result, do you?"
"After you were arrested yesterday, I found the drugs you were trying to trade. That's it. I'm certain your fate is no different from that person's."
After speaking, Zhang Hui leisurely pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a drag, his gaze towards Chatchai filled with disdain. Chatchai, having heard the translator's words, felt the pain in his shoulder intensify, and listlessly looked up at Zhang Hui.
Seeing that the other party still didn't speak, Zhang Hui continued to apply pressure, otherwise people would think that Zhang Hui was just joking with him. Then Zhang Hui instructed the translator to make sure that the translation was accurate and there was no ambiguity.
"Sompashen, you were making a deal at the stadium yesterday, weren't you?"
"I bet your name is fake too. The way you acted so arrogantly in the stadium, beating people up, it can't be just simple drug trafficking. Tell me, have you been involved in face-to-face transactions with other people?"
"Or perhaps the name and identity you mentioned earlier were fake? Someone like you, a drug trafficker, wouldn't easily tell us your name or your identity when you entered the country."
This long speech caused Chatchai's expression to change. During his previous interrogations, some people had questioned his identity, but none of them had put as much pressure on him as the person in front of him.
Zhang Hui stopped talking and continued to put pressure on him with rhythmic silence until he was almost finished smoking his cigarette.
The guy then began to argue, "I didn't deal drugs. Those drugs aren't on me. You're framing me."
"Hahaha, how ridiculous, you're about to die and you're still telling these jokes." Zhang Hui thought this guy was really tough.
"Songpashan, look at the handcuffs on your hands and the shackles on your feet. Don't you think this is an irony of what you just said?"
"I already found your fingerprints on the outer packaging of the counterfeit goods I found. Oh! By the way, if I'm not mistaken, you two were doing the transaction in that changing room, right?"
Chaichai visibly tensed up when Zhang Hui suddenly revealed his real transaction address. Chen Zhenxiong thought Zhang Hui was bluffing, but Chaichai saw it as the man in front of him possessing some information, and he was clearly no longer as composed as before.
When he was halfway through his sentence, Zhang Hui knew that a normal interrogation would not yield any results.
Somewhat angry, he decided to drop the pretense and lay his cards on the table! "I have God's perspective, why should I fight him so miserably? Wouldn't it be better to just pretend to be an interrogation expert?"
Even if he is suspected after he gets out, he insists that it is the result of his research on the micro-expressions of criminals. Anyway, he only cares about whether he can participate in the subsequent plot. He doesn't care about the consequences later.
"Looks like I guessed right, you two were making the deal in the locker room." Zhang Hui said, seizing the opportunity to observe the change in Cai's expression.
"I remember I went there to arrest someone back then. If I remember correctly, there was a bicycle inside. Do you think that has anything to do with you?" Seeing the other person's increasingly tense expression, Zhang Hui added fuel to the fire.
"Oh! By the way, the bag of counterfeit goods I found was wrapped in a cycling jersey. Do you think we should check on the Siamese team's personnel for this cycling race?"
Seeing Chatchai's eyes darting around and his lips pursing involuntarily, Zhang Hui seized the opportunity and said, "It seems you entered the country this time as a foreign cyclist, probably impersonating someone else's athlete to transport and trade drugs through this special channel!"
"No! No, that's not right, I didn't know!" Chatchai's mental defenses were completely broken. As soon as he opened his mouth, even the translator next to him knew that what Zhang Hui said was true.
"Hmm... Where is your trading partner from? Is he also from abroad, like you?"
"Something doesn't seem right. Is it Japanese?" "Hmm... your expression tells me it's not right either. Could it be Taiwanese?"
"Clap!" Zhang Hui clapped his hands, his acting becoming increasingly convincing, and continued, ignoring everyone else's thoughts, "Looks like it really is gay!"
Pressing his advantage, Zhang Hui continued, "So how many people were there?"
"Two people?" "Hmm...no!"
"Were there three people?" "That doesn't seem right either!"
"Then there must be four people!"
"Judging from your expression, this is probably the number of people you've met!" At this point, Zhang Hui, who was extremely nervous, gave the final answer.
Chachai was clearly panicked at this point, and sweat began to drip from his forehead.
The pressure from the person in front of him was increasing, as if he had been monitored beforehand. Not only did the person know the location of their transaction, but they also knew exactly where the other party came from.
This made Zhang Hui, who had successfully shown off, stand up straight, and Chen Zhenxiong, who had been taking notes, gradually show a proud look on his face.
After asking and answering his own questions, Zhang Hui walked out of the interrogation room with great satisfaction.
[The plot has changed due to the host's actions; 3 unallocated points will be awarded as a reward!]
Aha! Zhang Hui felt that his prediction was correct. It seemed that by actively participating, the reward would at least not be too meager.
The all-nighter didn't tire him out, but it calmed his excited emotions for the time being. He needed to hurry and report his analysis to Director Liu.
