Chapter 57 The Soul Mentor is a Ball

Unlike Barnard's Silver Bear, which is merely a hazy, shadowy image, Whitescale's guardian spirit is clearly visible down to every feather, every wrinkle on its claws, and the chilling light in its pupils. Every wizard can clearly feel that this is not even in the same league. If we compare the clarity of the image, the Owl of the Gods is definitely 4K ultra-high definition, while the Silver Bear is still in the 270P.AVI era.

The enormous golden eagle owl flew to Barnard's silver bear and with a single pounce, shattered the barely formed silver bear into pieces, which vanished into thin air. The silver light on Barnard's wand also disappeared.

The golden eagle owl hovered above the dueling arena, and Bai Lin's shadow demons struck again, binding Barnard's hands and feet, rendering him unable to move or cast spells.

"Kid!" Bai Lin walked up to Barnard. Barnard was excited and tried desperately to break free from the Shadow Demon's entanglement, but to no avail. His hands and feet seemed to be encased in concrete.

"Today, your brother is going to teach you a lesson!" Bai Lin continued. Tomorrow is Bai Lin's 21st birthday, and he should be the oldest of the four new members who joined today. It's not an exaggeration for him to call himself the older brother.

"The first lesson is, sister, don't attack rashly when you've figured out the opponent's strength!" As he spoke, Bai Lin punched Barnard so hard that his jaw almost crooked. In order to earn two thousand Galleons from Fudge, he had to beat Barnard's brother to a pulp.

"The second lesson is, when you don't know anything, don't rush to be someone's pawn!" Bai Lin punched him again, giving him a black eye.

"The third lesson: Don't think you're so great just because you can modify the Fireball Curse. If you really run into Death Eaters outside, you won't even know how you died!" Bai Lin punched him hard in the stomach and instantly released the Shadow Demon's control. Barnard screamed and rolled on the ground clutching his stomach, even throwing his wand aside.

"Enough!" Nicholas shouted. Instantly, a barrier of faint blue light appeared between Bai Lin and Barnard, separating them and preventing Bai Lin from attacking Barnard further. A group of house-elves rushed onto the dueling platform, levitated Barnard, and quickly took him off the platform to prevent him from continuing to embarrass himself in the arena.

"I hope you'll show up just in time if I fall to the ground, hehe~" Bai Lin shrugged at Nicholas, returned to his seat, and winked at Fudge, meaning to hurry up and pay the 2000 Galleons to the boss.

"I have never seen such a powerful Patronus!" Sir Ryan exclaimed, watching the Tarantula still circling and soaring in mid-air. "No Dementor could withstand such a powerful Patronus!"

Not only Sir Ryan, but many wizards from outside the Moritz faction also expressed their admiration. If there was anything that could kill a Dementor, they all sincerely believed that it was most likely this owl. Bai Lin was also deliberately showing off his strength and reputation to the Elder Council, so that probably no one would dare to gossip about him behind his back anymore.

"What do you think of the performance of the two young wizards today, Uncle Moritz?" Nicholas asked Moritz, glancing at the eagle's majestic appearance.

"A nice illusion..." The elderly Moritz seemed unsteady on his feet, struggling to his feet. He took out his black wand, waved it in the air, and muttered something that was completely unintelligible.

Black energy condensed around Moritz into countless jet-black arrows. With a wave of his hand, Moritz unleashed the arrows like arrows from a crossbow, raining down on the owls in the air.

"Holy crap, that old man has no sportsmanship!" Bai Lin couldn't help but panic a little. He had already checked Moritz's magic power level. It was as high as 91 points, even higher than Snape's. This unknown dark magic spell was obviously extremely powerful.

The White Scale Wand still had a trace of golden magical energy connected to the Call of the Gods Owl. White Scale subtly pushed his magic to its limit, and even in places unseen by others, the Summoning Encyclopedia was flipping through rapidly, as if to maximize the effect of the magic.

The eagle owl cried out loudly, its wings whipping up a whirlwind carrying golden dust. A large number of black arrows were swept away by the wind, but many still struck the eagle owl's wings, leaving a deep, dark hole.

The arrow wounds on the eagle owl's body are slowly healing, but not as fast as the speed at which it was hit. If this continues, the eagle owl will eventually be destroyed by the endless rain of arrows.

"This is outrageous!" Bai Lin shouted, summoning the Shadow Demon in Moritz's direction.

Moritz clearly hadn't expected that Bai Lin could unleash another spell while fully releasing the Guardian Spell. He was immediately entangled by countless black energy bodies. To Bai Lin's surprise, Moritz was surrounded by a faint black halo. The Shadow Demons were a reward from the sealing of the Dementors, and they had difficulty breaking through this halo. It must be Moritz's talent—the magical power of immunity to soul absorption.

Although the Shadow Demon couldn't break through Moritz's aura, it successfully diverted Moritz's attention, and the continuous rain of black arrows immediately stopped. Although the Calling Owl was hit by dozens of arrows, it didn't dissipate, only its golden light dimmed a bit, and the black holes where it was hit were slowly healed by the golden light.

"Does Your Excellency Moritz wish to personally take part? I'd be happy to oblige!" Bai Lin took a glass of champagne, toying with the tulip-shaped glass, and put away the Owl of the Gods, coldly addressing Moritz.

Moritz snorted coldly, did not continue casting the spell, put his wand into his robe, and sat back in his seat.

"Since Mr. Moritz has no objections, then I shall announce..." Nicholas was about to announce loudly when Bai Lin shouted, "What benefit would I get? Forgive my bluntness, but I'm not really willing to go to some remote island overseas to coexist with monsters."

Nicholas frowned and said, "After discussion by the elders, they believe you may need a soul mentor."

"Soul Mentor?" Bai Lin and most of the wizards exclaimed in surprise or curiosity, clearly many of them hearing this term for the first time.

Bai Lin paused for a moment and said, "I need to see him first, the Soul Mentor!" Bai Lin wanted to confirm what kind of existence the Soul Mentor was. Judging from the marker of his main quest, there should be many Soul Mentors who led Bai Lin to different factions.

Nicholas flashed toward Elder Ross and was already standing dozens of meters away beside him. The terrain of the plaza began to change, the dueling arena slowly sank, and the tables and chairs began to move to their previous positions.

Elder Ross stood up, and Bai Lin then noticed that he was very tall, and his single eye made him look fierce. Elder Ross took out an exquisite little box from his pocket, opened it for Bai Lin, and inside was a crystal ball that shimmered with light.

"What? The Soul Mentor is just a ball?" Bai Lin was somewhat bewildered.
