Barnard's seemingly insurmountable move suddenly vanished, leaving him momentarily stunned. But that single second was enough for Bai Lin to step forward and unleash his attack: "Summon Shadow Fiend!"

Countless strands of black energy surged from all directions of the plaza, accompanied by eerie howls and wailing.

"Ixpai Teopachanam! (Palm Protector)" Barnard seemed to have been prepared, shouting the Patronus Charm before the black energy clung to him.

Suddenly, a dazzling silver light emanated from Barnard's wand, forming the outline of a giant bear, which suited Barnard's image quite well.

The silver light did have some effect on the black energy, but half of the Shadow Demons still entangled Barnard's body. Barnard roared, trying to break free from the Shadow Demons' influence with brute force.

"A Guardian Spirit now? You think I'm worse than you?" Bai Lin scoffed at his nascent Guardian Spirit, shouting, "The Owl of the Gods!"

Bai Lin's wand shone with golden light, and a huge golden owl with a wingspan of more than two meters shot out from the tip of the wand.
