Chapter 6 Cool Scars
Chapter 6 Cool Scars
Shi Daohan became more and more curious as he read on, and he really wanted to know how these Western cultivators cultivated.
She suddenly remembered the scene of Dean Ron casting a spell with his magic wand, and on a whim, she somehow got hold of a small twig and began to mimic the spell in her hand.
"Miss Daohan, what are you doing?" Allen and George looked at her curiously.
"I want to try the method that Dean Ron just used." Shi Daohan gestured with a twig while recalling the incantation Dean Ron chanted when he repaired the window.
"What was it called again? Dinosaur Anti-Wolf Repair, right?"
Shi Daohan muttered in English, but for a long time he saw no change in the branch in his hand.
"I remember when he finished chanting the incantation, some inexplicable power attached itself to that little wooden stick. Why is there no reaction at all when I use it? Did I chant it wrong?"
Shi Daohan was puzzled. After trying several more times, there was still no effect. So he simply stopped reciting it in English and directly translated the incantation into Chinese.
"Window, window, fix it."
The tree branches remained unchanged, showing no reaction whatsoever.
"Window, window, fix it!"
Try it a second time.
"Damn it, fix it right now!"
After failing on his third attempt, Shi Daohan sat back down in disappointment, pondering why he had failed.
"Could it be because the window has been repaired that my magic stopped working?"
Shi Daohan thought this made perfect sense.
Since there's nothing to repair, you can't repair the air, right? It should fail.
Thinking of this, Shi Daohan was about to knock on the window again when her fingers snapped. The two brothers, Allen and George, were startled by her action and quickly got up to pull her back.
"Don't cause any more trouble, or Dean Ron will definitely be angry."
Shi Daohan touched his nose and finally withdrew his right hand, which was already halfway out, without striking. He sat back down, his eyes darting around, seemingly lost in thought.
"Excuse me..." Just then, a thin-faced little boy walked over.
She looked to be around fifteen or sixteen years old, with thick bangs that covered her forehead, and wore glasses. She appeared quiet and polite.
"I'm a new student, may I sit with you?"
The little boy seemed a bit introverted, and his voice was very soft; if you didn't listen carefully, you couldn't hear what he was saying at all.
The academic affairs office was almost full by then, with only one empty seat left for Shi Daohan and his group.
"Sure, little brother." Shi Daohan smiled and waved to him.
The two brothers, Allen and George, also showed their goodwill by letting the little boy sit down next to them.
"Hello, my name is George, this is my brother Allen, and this is Shi Daohan, an exchange student from the ancient East." George, being a socialite, took the initiative to introduce himself to the little boy.
Shi Daohan merely nodded symbolically, her attention still focused on the branch in her hand, which she waved occasionally.
She knew many repair methods, such as mending a broken mirror, but usually she just cast a spell directly, or if it was a bit more complicated, she would use a talisman. She had never seen a method like Dean Ron's, which used incantations and tools, so she was particularly curious.
"My name is Locke."
The little boy sat on Shi Daohan's bench, looking somewhat reserved.
"Locke? I've heard of you, the Andor family!"
Upon hearing the boy's name, both brothers, Allen and George, widened their eyes in surprise.
Seeing their strong reaction, Shi Daohan's attention shifted from the tree branch to the boy sitting next to her, and she looked him up and down.
At first, Shi Daohan didn't pay much attention to the boy. When she first saw him, she only thought he was a little thin. Now she noticed that his face was a little pale.
It wasn't the normal, translucent white, but rather a deathly pale white, devoid of any rosy color, even its lips were somewhat purplish.
In the normal world, his appearance might be attributed to malnutrition, but in Shi Daohan's eyes, it was clearly a sign of being plagued by misfortune.
Its entire body was emanating a faint black aura, indicating that it had been entangled for quite some time.
"Can you show me your forehead?" Shi Daohan smiled slightly.
Locke was clearly a little nervous, but he still did as Shi Daohan said and reached out to lift up the thick bangs that were covering his forehead.
Something's definitely not right.
Shi Daohan narrowed his eyes and noticed a lightning-shaped scar the size of a knuckle on Locke's forehead. All the eeriness and ominousness originated from that scar.
"Wow! That scar is so cool!" George exclaimed, but then, as if remembering something terrible, he quickly covered his mouth and fell silent.
Shi Daohan stared intently at the scar, a hint of doubt and curiosity flashing in his eyes.
[It's certain he wasn't possessed by any evil spirits, but that power was definitely not good. What kind of force was it?]
Shi Daohan stared at it for a long time but still couldn't figure out the origin of the evil power hidden within the scar.
"Can I touch it?" Shi Daohan asked softly.
Before Locke could respond, Shi Daohan had already taken matters into his own hands.
"No! It will hurt you!" Locke cried out in alarm. He knew better than anyone how terrible the scar on his forehead was.
But the scene I imagined didn't happen. Shi Daohan's fair and slender, slightly cool fingers were already pressed against the lightning-shaped scar, and she wasn't hurt at all.
However, a wisp of black mist seeped out from the scar and wrapped around Shi Daohan's fingers.
The wisp of black mist was like a thorny vine, trying to tear through her skin.
[You also like bloodlust?] Shi Daohan raised an eyebrow and a playful smile appeared on his lips.
She didn't make any move; she just watched quietly.
The black vines tightened around her fingers, their sharp thorns like teeth, ready to tear her skin apart. However, they were shattered and broken in the next second, turning back into a wisp of black mist and quickly retreating.
Shi Daohan condensed a sword intent on his finger, which attached itself to the wisp of black mist and retreated back into the scar.
"Well……"
The instant the black mist retreated back into the scar, Locke felt a splitting headache and cried out in pain, hurriedly reaching out to cover his forehead.
"I'm sorry, are you alright?" Shi Daohan withdrew her hand and silently transferred some magic power into Locke's body to relieve his pain.
"I'm fine." Locke shook his head slightly after feeling the pain subside.
As Locke lowered his hand from his forehead, Shi Daohan noticed that the inner power of the lightning-shaped scar had actually increased, absorbing all the magic she had transferred into Locke's body.
[My magic, can you, you beast, withstand it?]
Shi Daohan sneered inwardly, and the sword intent that had entered the scar along with the black mist suddenly erupted.
"Ah—!" Locke cried out in pain again, cold sweat pouring down his forehead.
[Damn! I forgot about this little guy.] Shi Daohan quickly stopped and stuffed a small bottle into Locke's hand, saying, "This is a pill I made myself. It can cure all diseases. Eat it quickly."
After being tormented by her, Locke's face turned even paler, and he looked half-dead.
With a face full of apology, Shi Daohan shook out a few small black pills from the small bottle and stuffed them into Locke's mouth.
"Thank you."
Locke whispered, his complexion having improved considerably.
He didn't know what Shi Daohan had given him, but after taking those pills, the splitting headache disappeared, and he felt full of energy.
[Even Uncle Bard couldn't stop this scar from appearing, so it must be a very precious medicine, right?] Locke thought to himself, and when he looked at Shi Daohan again, his eyes were filled with gratitude.
But Shi Daohan's attention was still focused on the scar on his forehead.
That sinister power has been entangled with Locke for some years, attaching itself to his flesh and bones. It would be quite difficult to remove it without harming Locke.
"How did you get this scar?" Shi Daohan asked softly.
Locke stammered for a long time, seemingly unwilling to reveal any information about the scar, and finally only said that he had accidentally fallen when he was a child.
Seeing this, Shi Daohan didn't ask any more questions. Although she didn't know the method of that evil power, she could sense that it wouldn't really harm Locke's life.
On the contrary, it can also play a protective role when necessary.
However, since it is a negative ability, having it reside in the Lingtai Fangcun for a long time will have a certain impact on Locke's mental and physical condition. He might even go insane one day due to a mental breakdown.
However, none of this has anything to do with Shi Daohan anymore. It was just a brief encounter, and after today, there might not be any more opportunities to cross paths. There's absolutely no need for her to create trouble for herself.
"They should be calling us soon, right?" George craned his neck and looked around.
Some students who had registered their names had already left the academic affairs office, leaving only Shi Daohan and his three classmates, along with a dozen other students.
"Fiona," Dean Ron called out the name from his desk.
A girl with pigtails got up and skipped forward. After registering her name, she was about to leave when Shi Daohan stopped her.
"Young lady, I see you have extraordinary bones and innate spiritual roots. Would you like to cultivate immortality with me?" Shi Daohan said with a bright smile.
"Cultivating immortality? What's that? Sorry, I'm not interested, because I've vowed to become the greatest magician in the world." The twin-tailed girl refused directly.
She looked to be only about seventeen years old, with beautiful long blonde hair tied in pigtails, giving her a quirky and mischievous appearance.
