Family connections: From special recruitment by the county committee to the pinnacle of power

Although Zhao Dongxu was a little confused, he nodded repeatedly and said, "I understand, Section Chief Xu."

Xu Hansheng nodded, then said to the rest of the group, "Everyone, go back and prepare. We'll go to Longping Town together at nine o'clock tomorrow morning."

After saying that, Xu Hansheng pushed open the door and went back to his office.

As Zhao Dongxu watched Xu Hansheng's retreating figure, he kept pondering what Xu Hansheng's words meant: "Using connections has its limits."

After much thought, Zhao Dongxu still couldn't figure out what Xu Hansheng meant, so he made an excuse, left the county committee compound, and headed straight for the health bureau.

Pushing open the door to Chen Fangyuan's office, Zhao Dongxu immediately relayed Xu Hansheng's words to Chen Fangyuan, and finally asked, "Uncle, what exactly does Section Chief Xu mean? What does 'using connections' mean, that there are limits? Should I let you make that request?"

Chen Fangyuan smiled faintly and said to Zhao Dongxu, "Sit down."

As she spoke, Chen Fangyuan poured Zhao Dongxu a glass of water, then took out a pen and paper and wrote a letter of introduction on the paper. The letter clearly stated that all relevant personnel and leaders of the health department in Longping Town must cooperate with Comrade Zhao Dongxu's work.

Finally, he signed his name and affixed the official seal.

"Take it."

Chen Fangyuan handed the letter of introduction to Zhao Dongxu and said with a smile, "Your section chief means that you can make the introductions, but you will need to do the specific research work yourself."

"A lot of data is actually underreported or misrepresented. If you don't investigate in depth, it's easy to be misled by false data."

"Then your research report is distorted, understand?"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Dongxu took the letter of introduction from Chen Fangyuan and frowned, saying, "Uncle, isn't this just a matter of a phone call from you? Is it really necessary to bring this thing..."

It seems that since Zhao Dongxu started working at the county committee, no one has ever asked for a letter of introduction. With communication so convenient now, is it still necessary to carry a letter of introduction around?

Chen Fangyuan smiled and shook his head, saying, "You don't understand. I can solve part of the problem by making a phone call, but should that be considered the result of our health bureau's research, or should it be attributed to you?"

"This letter of introduction is proof that the comrades from the Health Bureau were merely cooperating with you, and the results of the research naturally belong to your research lab."

"That's just limited interaction. To be honest, what has our health bureau done for you? No."

"You conducted all the visits yourself, step by step. At most, the health department only provided you with a direction. Even if someone wants to criticize, they can't find a reason to."

"Also, I don't think this project is that simple. It's not just about a cattle farm. So, listen more, observe more, and speak less."

"Especially when you get to Longping Town, you should talk less and listen more, and it's best not to talk at all."

Zhao Dongxu nodded repeatedly and said, "Uncle, I understand now. Come to my house for dinner tonight. It's perfect timing, my mom misses you and Auntie too."

Chen Fangyuan rolled her eyes at Zhao Dongxu and said, "Stop fawning over me. Why doesn't my sister ever think about me? Go do what you're supposed to do!"

Zhao Dongxu chuckled and said, "Uncle, I'll be going now."

After saying that, he also took a pack of cigarettes from Chen Fangyuan's table.

On the other side, Xu Hansheng was also conducting research and planning.

It seems that as long as you get to Longping Town and contact the town's leaders, you can get first-hand data, but that's not actually the case.

Every village and town has to report various data every year, but in order to make the data look better, there will be more or less some exaggeration in it.

Furthermore, Qi Hongchang's final remarks were definitely not just about getting Xu Hansheng to work on this one project, but rather about conducting a thorough investigation of Longping Town through this research trip.

Longping Town is also a major town for breeding and handicraft workshops in the county. There are two or three chicken farms alone, as well as many fish ponds and family-run handicraft workshops. This is a very typical fragmented economic model.

Now that Xu Hansheng has proposed a governance plan for the county, how should it be implemented?

This is an opportunity to put your knowledge into practice.

The real test for Xu Hansheng lies in whether he can connect the fragmented economic models to generate greater benefits and motivate grassroots enthusiasm.

Therefore, Xu Hansheng must make detailed plans before implementing them.

……

That afternoon, just after Qi Hongchang saw Feng Mingshan off, Jiang Hua pushed open the door and walked into Qi Hongchang's office.

"Secretary Qi, there's something I need to report to you."

As they were talking, Jiang Hua took a document and went to Qi Hongchang's desk, handing it to him.

The above details Lin Mingyuan's trip to the Discipline Inspection Commission to report Xu Hansheng.

As Qi Hongchang looked at it, he smiled and nodded, saying, "Hehe, this Xiao Lin is quite vigilant. He even brought a camera when he passed by Hongyunlai."

Jiang Hua smiled and said, "Secretary Qi, it's good that Comrade Lin Mingyuan is vigilant, but it's unacceptable to report to the Discipline Inspection Commission without clear evidence."

"Otherwise, how can other comrades dare to work freely? At present, attracting investment is the county's top priority, and many comrades inevitably have some dealings with entrepreneurs."

"If everyone were like him, other comrades would inevitably have reservations."

"Take Comrade Xu Hansheng's case for example. It was already past his off-duty time, and he could have had a good rest. But for the sake of the county's project, Comrade Xu Hansheng worked tirelessly and even asked Director Gu to help him get a recommendation, all so that the county's project could be implemented effectively and save expenses for the project."

"Moreover, Secretary Zhou also has Comrade Xu Hansheng, who received a lot of information lists from General Ge at the time. He was a comrade who devoted himself wholeheartedly to his work. If it weren't for Secretary Zhou's serious handling and pragmatic approach, I really don't want to think about the consequences."

As Qi Hongchang flipped through the documents, he nodded slightly and said, "Yes, I understand. Everything should be done with the big picture in mind. First, we need to handle the county's recent work properly. As for other things, we can put them aside for now."

"Furthermore, the final decision on how to handle County Chief Lin has not yet been made public. During this period, unity is of paramount importance."

Jiang Hua pondered the meaning behind Qi Hongchang's words, then nodded with a smile and said, "Yes, yes, Secretary Qi is right. Everything should be subordinate to the overall situation. I understand what to do."

Qi Hongchang nodded and said, "Okay, Secretary Jiang, if there's nothing else, you can go ahead and get back to work."

Only after Jiang Hua had walked away did Qi Hongchang's face gradually darken. He stared at the materials in his hand, his eyes narrowed, and a cold smile appeared on his lips.

Report Xu Hansheng?

Was that about reporting Xu Hansheng?

Just because Lin Mingyuan's deputy section chief position was revoked, Lin Weidong disregarded the overall situation and instigated his son to use such despicable means. Even now, he is still pretending to be stupid.

Such a position is indeed somewhat undeserved!
