While tidying up a thick book on naval and land warfare, a photograph fell out.

The photo was old and yellowed, and Ian freed up one of his tentacles to pick it up.

It was a photograph of a beautiful, thin human woman with numb, world-weary eyes. She was wearing a black and white striped prison uniform and holding a strip of cloth with the number "10086" on it.

"That's Yangyang." Seeing him lost in thought, Kong Yang walked over, supporting his waist. "She's the only female comrade I know by name while working with the teacher."

"Rippling, rippling..." Ian murmured, lost in memories, as if something long buried was about to break through the soil.
