Quick Transmigration and Childbirth: The Target is Not Human

Chapter 38 The Tentacle Monster's Runaway Bride

Ian had a dream, a long and peaceful one.

If there was any hardship at all, it was that he only learned he had stolen his mother's heart before he fell into a deep sleep.

*

"Why did I steal Mom's heart?" Ian asked, sitting on the clownfish's back.

"Because you were too small and weak back then, baby, you just wanted to live. Of course, it's not entirely your fault. Not being able to give you a healthy heart was a failure on your mother's part," the clownfish said matter-of-factly, his tone not like he was lying.

"Did I eat my mother's heart?"

"Yes."

"Then...where is it now?"

"In your heart."

"In my 'heart'?" Little Ian touched his left chest, feeling a healthy, vibrant vibration coming from within.

"Yes~ There is a beautiful little pink stone in your heart, that is your mother's heart."

As they drew closer to the sea, unfamiliar light shone through the ripples of the water onto Ian's arm.

A slight stinging sensation came from those light-colored eyes that had grown to adapt to the darkness of the seabed.

"Where are we going now?" Ian asked.

"Let's go somewhere where we can get that little stone out." The clownfish swam faster and faster.

"Is it land?" Ian suddenly jumped off the clownfish and hesitated. "I... I can't go ashore."

The clownfish turned back, its tone a mixture of speechlessness and anger: "Why? What's so scary about the shore? Don't you want to save your mother? Your mother was willing to give her life for you, and you can't even put yourself in her shoes, you thief!"

After being bombarded with accusations, Ian's eyes widened: "Stop talking nonsense! I'm not like that!!"

"Then why can't we go ashore?"

"There are humans on the shore...humans are bad and cunning."

"Isn't your mother human too?"

"My mom is different."

"Oh, my friends are different too. They are all very kind humans, and right now only human friends can help you."

Seeing that he still didn't move, the clownfish turned around and asked, "What is it now?"

"I still can't get ashore."

Why?

"Because...because...in short, it's just not possible!"

The clownfish chuckled and swam towards the shore, wagging its tail: "Coward...then you can just watch your mother die."

He swam forward, but turned the camera around to the back. Sure enough, the tiny child was provoked and caught up with him.

He stammered, "I can get ashore, but you must hurry, as fast as you can, otherwise... Father will get hurt."

The clownfish, as if its mood had instantly changed, became enthusiastic again, hoisting Ian onto its back: "Don't worry, it'll be quick."

However, the moment Ian surfaced, he was trapped inside an iron cage. He panicked, but the stench filled his mouth and nose, and he passed out.

When he woke up again, his chest was cold, and directly above him were green sterile sheets and a huge, glaring light.

Dehydration caused his skin to wrinkle, which allowed some terrifying memories to overwhelm his mind.

"I'm scared..." Ian's big, watery eyes filled with tears.

The person closest to him, a red-haired human woman, gave him a sidelong glance: "Don't be afraid, baby. Your mother will be saved soon because of your selfless sacrifice. Close your eyes, it won't hurt at all..."

Ian tried to dispel his fear by recalling his mother's smiling face; he closed his eyes, but his eyelashes trembled incessantly.

He heard the slicing sound of a blade cutting through flesh, a sound that sent chills down his spine.

But soon I felt drowsy again.

Before he went to sleep, he felt a sense of familiarity; the voice of this red-haired human really sounded like that ugly clownfish.

It seems they really are friends...

*

Ian sat up abruptly from his sleep. Everything around him was very familiar. He was lying in the Brahma Temple, with soft scallop meat spread out on a bed of finely woven soft seaweed.

After scanning the area with his eyes, he grabbed Elder Turtle's hand and asked anxiously, "Has my mother's heart been returned?"

Elder Turtle paused, his face showing genuine confusion: "Your Majesty, what are you saying? You don't have a mother."

Now it was Ian's turn to be stunned; his small, chubby face turned pale.

He kicked his leg and rolled off the bed: "I'm going to find my father!"

Before the tentacles even touched the ground, Elder Turtle pulled them back into the air.

Elder Turtle smiled kindly and lovingly: "Your Excellency, you must be confused from your illness. You have neither father nor mother. You were born from the essence of the sun and moon in the ocean, and from birth you have taken on the important responsibility of guiding the people of the ocean."

Ian stared blankly. What ocean lord? What essence of the sun and moon? Wasn't his father the ocean lord?

What happened to the ocean world? Why has everyone changed?

An unnamed fear gripped his heart. Ian flew out his tentacles and wrapped them around Elder Turtle's face. Elder Turtle couldn't see anything and was unsteady on his feet, so he staggered.

"No! That's not true! You're trying to lie to me. I have a father and a mother. My father is the most powerful ocean lord, and my mother is the kindest and most beautiful human!!!"

Just then, the Black Witch pushed open the door and walked in. She immediately cast a calming spell, and the limp little golden octopus fell into her arms...

Ian sat atop the highest palace in Atlantis, resting his chin on his hand, a small wisp of his curly silver hair sticking up on his head.

He quietly looked at the world beneath his feet, watching the little mermaids and crabs holding their fathers' and mothers' hands.

The witch doctor said he had been sick and slept for three months. Perhaps he had slept for too long, which was why he couldn't distinguish between dreams and reality.

Ian nodded obediently on the surface, but secretly searched the entire palace without finding a trace of their existence.

That was the first time he had ever wavered in his conviction about something he was absolutely certain of.

A mermaid companion came and called him to go back to his studies, and only then did he put his mind at ease and swim down.

Ian grew up.

He often wondered why his body was growing so slowly. Other little fish could grow to adulthood in a year, but it took him five years to just shed his childish appearance.

Grandma Black Witch told him that it was because his lifespan was longer than that of other fish. Fish with long lifespans grow slowly, just like Grandpa Turtle.

Ian imitated his father's appearance in his memory, dealing with those obscure and difficult maritime affairs.

He studies every day so that he may acquire all the qualities of a qualified monarch.

That day, he was drawing on the beach with a stick, pouring the two faces he missed onto the tip of the stick, but he stopped halfway through the drawing.

He doesn't remember.

I don't remember what my father and mother looked like.

He sat alone in the jellyfish garden all day, silently gazing at the paintings before him.

The sand painting had long been swept clean by the tentacles of several playful little jellyfish.

Ten years later, Ian came of age.

Elder Turtle and the Black Witch taught him very well.

He grew into an exceptionally outstanding ocean leader, possessing foresight, integrity, and composure in the face of pressure and challenges, and was also sought after by countless females.

He no longer clings to his childhood dreams, nor does he search for any so-called "evidence of existence." His new duty and wish is for the people of the sea to live peaceful and tranquil lives.

He has always lived like this.

Until one day, he encountered a human in the Coral Forbidden Land.

The group of mischievous little mermaids who had strayed into the forbidden area were initially hiding behind the human female, but when they saw Ian appear, they immediately ran behind him.

There were three or four electric eel corpses lying on the ground, but Ian's attention wasn't on them.

He had never seen such a beautiful and flamboyant female.

The human girl wore a short-sleeved shirt and shorts, her long black hair was tied into a neat ponytail. She tied the bloodstained dagger back to her waist and raised her eyebrows at him.

"You're late, golden octopus."

How can you breathe in the ocean?

Two voices rang out simultaneously, overlapping each other, and the two men stared at each other in surprise.

"May I ask your esteemed name?"

"What's your name?"

They coincidentally overlapped again, and this time, the two of them laughed at the same time.

The human girl stepped forward first, extending her hand generously: "My name is Kong Yang, an explorer of non-natural phenomena. I came here to verify the authenticity of the underwater kingdom of 'Atlantis' that I read about in my teacher's diary."

Ian frowned slightly: "Your teacher is...?"

"A five-star admiral." The girl said it with confidence and pride, "During his tenure over this sea area, there has never been a single conflict between the sea and the land."

Ian knew that famous general.

He smiled slightly and shook hands with her. Her palm was warm and soft, and her fingertips had a fine layer of calluses. "Hello, my name is Ian, and I am the King of Atlantis."
