He Yun Shen's eyes darkened, and he turned away after speaking.

Bai Yishu watched him turn and leave, and then walked towards the ward without lingering any longer.

He Yun Shen took a few steps, but couldn't help turning back to look at Bai Yi Shu's back, a sharp pain shooting through his heart.

He finally gave a self-deprecating laugh, slowly turned around, and left the hospital.

He Yun Shen walked heavily out of the hospital. The sunlight outside was a bit dazzling, so he raised his hand to shield his eyes and went straight to his car to sit down.

After instructing the driver to start the car, he remained silent. The vehicle sped along the road, shutting out the city's hustle and bustle from the window, but his mind was a jumbled mess.

"Take a detour."

He Yun Shen suddenly spoke up. The driver glanced at him in the rearview mirror, hesitated for a moment, and then did as he was told.

His gaze drifted out the window, watching the familiar streets pass by one by one, and his thoughts drifted back to the time he spent with Bai Yishu.

While waiting at a traffic light, He Yun Shen's gaze fell on the front of an ice cream shop. He stared at the shop entrance absentmindedly for a long time before softly saying, "Wait for me."

He pushed open the car door and walked into the store. Looking at the dazzling array of ice creams in the glass display case, he subconsciously pointed to the chocolate flavored one.

"A chocolate ice cream."

His voice was a little hoarse. After paying, he took the ice cream and walked out of the store. He stood by the roadside but did not get into the car immediately.

He Yun Shen slowly scooped a spoonful of ice cream and put it in his mouth. The sweetness of the chocolate melted on his tongue, but it could not cover up the bitterness in his heart.

He stared at the ice cream in his hand, recalling what Bai Yishu had once said, and his eyes couldn't help but redden.

He Yun Shen stood by the roadside, eating ice cream bite by bite until the cold sensation made his teeth ache. He then stopped and threw the last bit of ice cream into the trash can.

"Let's go back to the company."

After getting on the bus, he leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and stopped looking out the window.

By noon, after confirming that there was nothing seriously wrong, the doctor transferred Bai Yishu's father to a regular ward, and she finally relaxed.

She was sitting on the sofa in the ward, just about to rest for a while, when there was a knock on the door.

Bai Yishu got up and opened the door, only to see the person she least wanted to see standing at the door.

Ignoring Bai Yishu's instantly gloomy expression, Fu Xiu carried the flower basket into the ward, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Miss Bai, I heard your father is ill, so I came to visit."

His gaze swept around the ward, finally settling on the patient in the bed, his eyes filled with a hint of inquiry.

He placed the flower basket on the table beside him, then turned his gaze back to Bai Yishu's face, speaking softly.

"Don't overwork yourself. The patient needs your care, but you also need to take care of yourself, right?"

Bai Yishu was displeased by his arrival and asked directly, "What are you doing here?"

Fu Xiu chuckled lightly and spoke slowly.

"I told you, I came to visit you in the hospital."

He took a step towards Bai Yishu, closing the distance between them.

"Just dropping by to see you."

He narrowed his eyes slightly, as if trying to glean something from Bai Yishu's expression.

Bai Yishu took a step back as he stepped forward, her eyes fixed on him.

Fu Xiu noticed her movements, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes, but he maintained a smile on his face.

"Miss Bai, there's no need to be so wary. I'm just here to check on things."

"You can leave now."

"You dislike me that much?"

Instead of leaving, he took another step forward, his tall figure exuding a sense of oppression.

"I only came to deliver a flower basket and exchange a few words of greeting. Why is Miss Bai so heartless?"

Bai Yishu said somewhat impatiently, "I said you can leave now."

Fu Xiu's expression darkened slightly, and his eyes turned dangerous, but he quickly returned to normal and chuckled.

"Okay, okay, I'm leaving."

He turned and walked towards the door, stopping just before leaving and looking back at her.

"However, Miss Bai, there are some things I still want to remind you of."

"What?"

Bai Yishu glanced at him, resisting the urge to push him out and slam the door in his face, and patiently listened to him speak.

"Now that you and He Yun Shen have broken up, how about you consider me?"

He smirked, put his hands in his pockets, and let his gaze roam freely over her body.

"The Fu family's resources can help your father far more than the He family's, can't they?"

"What are you talking about?"

Bai Yishu glanced at her father on the hospital bed, walked out of the door, and gently closed it.

Fu Xiu leaned close to her ear, his voice deep and his eyes smiling.

"What I mean is, if you're willing to come with me, I can get the best medical team to take care of your father's illness."

Bai Yishu poked his shoulder with her fingertip and pushed him away slightly.

"The Bai family can also hire the best doctors, so there's no need to trouble you."
