Courtyard House: Home Alone

Chapter 188 Entering the Dock

Lin Yifan stood behind him, watching his hand intently as he wrote, to prevent him from playing any tricks. Soon, Kenji Doihara finished writing and handed the paper to Lin Yifan.

Lin Yifan took the paper, read it carefully, and put it away after confirming that it was correct. "Very good, Mr. Doihara, it seems you're not too stupid after all."

He said calmly, "Now, you need to cooperate fully with our upcoming work. I will have someone 'protect' you, and you should know the consequences if you dare to make any unusual moves or try to pass on any messages."

Kenji Doihara was deathly pale, slumped into a chair, and his eyes were filled with despair.

He knew that he had not only become a prisoner, but had also leaked such important information. Even if he survived, he would not have a good ending when he returned to Japan.

Lin Yifan ignored him, walked to the window, opened it, whistled, and gave the agreed-upon signal.

Chen Dashan and the others outside had been waiting anxiously. Upon hearing the signal, they perked up and immediately led their team into the courtyard without making a sound.

Following Lin Yifan's instructions, they quickly took control of all areas, tied up the stunned Japanese soldiers, and put them under centralized guard.

Chen Dashan led a few of his men straight to the west wing. They saw Lin Yifan sitting in a chair, while Doihara Kenji lay sprawled to the side like a defeated dog. Overjoyed, Chen Dashan exclaimed, "Young master, are you alright? We're late!"

"I'm fine." Lin Yifan stood up. "Keep a close eye on him. We absolutely cannot let him escape, nor can we let him commit suicide."

Also, take the equipment from the communications room and the few communications soldiers who were knocked unconscious back with you. Manager Zhou and the others should already be waiting outside.

Also, clear out those dead Japanese soldiers.

"Yes, young master!" Chen Dashan responded loudly, immediately ordering his men to tie up Kenji Doihara and sending someone to handle the matters in the communications room.

Soon, the entire courtyard was cleaned up. Apart from the bound Japanese communications soldier and the unconscious Doihara adjutant, there was no one else. Lin Yifan glanced at the sky; the east was already showing the first light of dawn, and daybreak was imminent.

He knew they had to leave before dawn to avoid unnecessary trouble, as they didn't know how many Japanese spies were stationed in Beiping.

If they discover anything, the whole plan will be exposed. "Withdraw!" Lin Yifan gave the order, leading Chen Dashan and the others, along with Kenji Doihara and the other prisoners, as well as the captured radio equipment, and quickly disappeared into the streets of Beiping in the early morning light, retreating towards the Tang residence.

A thrilling "decapitation" operation came to a successful conclusion before dawn.

After arriving at the Tang residence, Lin Yifan gave instructions on guarding the property and monitoring the communications before driving away and heading quickly towards Tianjin.

Next came the special attack team and the special smoke bombs on the "Yukikaze," which were also the focus of this operation. Without the special attack team, the Japanese decapitation plan came to nothing.

If I were to capture the special cigarettes from the "Yukikaze," along with the ones I had captured earlier, I would have six thousand special cigarettes in my storage space.

Then, those Japanese devils around Beiping will taste the bitter fruit of their own actions. Along the way, just like on the way back to Beiping, Lin Yifan almost trampled the car's undercarriage.

The engine roared dully on the quiet road. Lin Yifan gripped the steering wheel tightly, his eyes sharp as an eagle's, not daring to relax for a moment.

He knew that the trip to Tianjin would be even more dangerous. The Japanese "Yukikaze" was no ordinary ship, and the special cigarettes on board were the key to his success.

He had to acquire these "treasures" before the "Yukikaze" docked.

The car was traveling at an astonishing speed, the trees on both sides rushing past, turning into blurry black shadows, as if even the air itself was being torn apart by this extreme speed.

Lin Yifan remained unusually calm, constantly deducing the various situations he might encounter and the corresponding countermeasures in his mind, considering every detail extremely thoroughly.

He stopped the car five kilometers from Tianjin and, taking advantage of the absence of anyone, stored it in his spatial storage. Since there was a checkpoint a little further ahead, Lin Yifan left the main road, took a side road to bypass the checkpoint, and ran directly towards the dock.

He finally arrived at the perimeter of the dock around 10 a.m. He first observed the area from the outside and found that the dock was now practically guarded every three steps and sentry every five steps.

He roughly estimated the distance to the dock and then selected three unoccupied teleportation points: two in piles of goods and one in a warehouse. By teleporting through these three points, his domain could cover the entire dock area.

However, we can't see the situation at the dock from where we are now. It's already past 10 o'clock. I wonder if the "Tokai Maru" has docked yet? Have the Japanese special forces landed?

"Let's go in as soon as possible," Lin Yifan thought. With a thought, he teleported to a pile of wood on the outer edge. Once there, he didn't teleport again immediately, but crouched down.

Because we can already see the situation on the dock from here. At pier number two, a cargo ship is docking, and the words "Donghai Maru" are painted on its hull.

Fortunately, the Japanese special forces hadn't landed yet. Lin Yifan felt slightly relieved, but then became vigilant again.

He saw the massive hull of the "Tokai Maru" slowly approaching the dock, and on the deck, he could vaguely see some figures in unusual uniforms bustling about, which must be the mysterious special forces team.

No, this place is still a bit far from the dock. We need to get closer to our own territory first.

Without hesitation, Lin Yifan immediately teleported again, this time to a spot next to a pile of gasoline drums covered by an oilcloth.

He paused briefly at the teleportation point to observe the warehouse that was to be used as the third teleportation point. What he saw made Lin Yifan burst out laughing.

The warehouse had been completely cleared of its original contents, and now half of the space was neatly furnished with over a hundred cots. Several temporary partitions had been added, each marked with a different unit number, clearly intended as temporary barracks for the special forces team about to land.

On the other side of the warehouse, there were piles of daily necessities. He suppressed his excitement and carefully observed the guards around the warehouse.

Two heavily armed Japanese sentries stood at the warehouse entrance, their eyes scanning the surroundings warily. From the highest point on the warehouse roof, the figures of Japanese soldiers could be vaguely seen moving about.

It seems that the Japanese soldiers took the defense of this warehouse very seriously.

Lin Yifan did not act rashly, because the warehouse was already within his territory, and he could teleport there at any time if he wanted to.
