Chapter 54 The Raven's Whisper and the Death's Circle

Chapter 54 The Raven's Whisper and the Death's Circle

Ironthorn Mountains, frozen river surface.

Through the sparse snow, a convoy loaded with supplies and fully armed moved slowly forward, leaving a trail of deep marks along the way.

These vehicles, pulled by Ernuk, resembled fearless warriors braving the cold, resolutely traversing the frozen river.

Clan warriors looked down at the solid ice, occasionally spotting pale skeletons and broken weapons.

It is a keepsake left by the deceased.

From a distance, one could see that each carriage was covered with thick animal fur, seemingly stuffed with items, and the raised parts were piled with fine snow and ice.

The rolling wheels also left deep tracks in the snow.

Perhaps due to the weight of the vehicles, the hard ice made a slight sound in the ears of many clan warriors.

But they didn't care; they saw it as a test in the dead of winter, a rhythm for moving forward.

Amidst the tangled trees and woods.

On the mountain path covered with snowflakes and loose rocks, clan warriors who had come ahead to scout were clearing the road.

They had heard some rumors.

Recently, in this vast, pale mountain range, a Noxian scout squad has been relentlessly intercepting supply convoys.

Many teams have already been brutally murdered.

It was for this reason that the clan warrior leader guarding the rear of the convoy dispatched many scouts to patrol the surrounding area.

However, the clan warriors' somewhat rudimentary reconnaissance skills were far too easy for veterans like Sharuba to evade.

Beneath the thick layer of snow.

Huo Jixing and his group, covered in heavy fur cloaks, calmed themselves and waited silently.

It's an old method, but simple and effective.

Huo Jixing, who happened to be free, overheard the conversations of the clan warriors on the mountain road, occasionally mentioning rumors about him and his scouts.

Many clan warriors refer to them as evil spirits from the Howling Abyss.

Their methods are extremely cruel and brutal, leaving no survivors among their enemies.

Perhaps it was the weather's favor, but the blizzard that had been raging for so long began to gradually subside.

But the cold beneath the snow layer persists.

Huo Jixing didn't care, but Xia Ruba and Eric behind him were having a hard time.

A chilling cold seeped through the fur cloak, penetrating the body and bringing excruciating pain.

This was especially true for Oakes, who was already injured.

Even with the black plaid covering his face, his slightly thick lips turned purple and his body trembled, but he endured it and did not make a sound.

Huo Jixing couldn't pay attention to Oakes and could only lie silently in the snow, continuing to wait.

Until the heavy carriage creaked and groaned as it pressed against the icy mountain road.

In addition, as the distance increases, even more sounds penetrate the snow.

There were the panting of Ernuk, the laughter of clan warriors, and some faint sounds, like the chirping of birds.

While waiting, Huo Jixing noticed his clothes being tugged. He turned around and saw that Oakes, who had a pale face, was pointing to the top of his head.

He immediately understood, stopped hiding it, and jumped up.

A heavy fur cloak fell to the ground, and swirling snowflakes drifted and scattered in the air.

"kill!"

A shout, like muffled thunder, broke the atmosphere of the snowy field and echoed above the supply transport team.

Huo Jixing was like a sharp blade cutting through the snow curtain; his slender longsword dragged a straight line across the snow as he charged toward the middle of the convoy.

And Huo Jixing's roar.

This foreshadows the start of the attack and is a call to action.

Behind him, Sharuba, Eric, and the others, like black wolves who had been waiting for a long time, roared and followed behind Hojixing, charging into the slightly chaotic clan warriors in one fell swoop.

Their eyes were as cold as ice, each locked onto its target.

Beneath the blooming crimson flames, they transformed into silent shadows of death, reaping the lives of clan warriors with precision and ruthlessness.

Amid the chaos of the convoy, shouts and commands rang out one after another.

But they have become insignificant in the bloody carnage of the Noxian scouts.

They broke through the defenses, tore apart the clan warriors who stood in their way, their blades already stained red, and their entire bodies exuded a cruel and ruthless aura.

It was just one impact, and the clan warriors began to scatter in terror.

Unfortunately, all they faced was more death.

The battle lasted only a few minutes before it ended, leaving the snow-covered ground littered with cold corpses.

Huo Jixing, standing in the center of the blood-red scene, frowned.

"These clan warriors seem somewhat weaker compared to the previous caravans!"

He looked at the scouts who were releasing Ernuk, and then glanced at the two wagons beside him; they seemed to have little food and supplies.

But he didn't say anything more.

The series of victories had made Huo Jixing lose his vigilance.

After the battle, he didn't rush to activate [Vermilion Bird: Crimson Eyes], but instead headed towards Oakes, where the sword-wielding boy Heine was taking care of him.

"What's wrong?"

When Oakes saw him approaching, he thought something was wrong and asked.

"It's nothing, just checking on your injuries." Huo Jixing was relieved to see that Oakes hadn't given any warnings and began to inquire about the other's injuries.

"It's nothing serious, just affected by the weather, it will probably take quite a while to recover." Oakes chuckled softly and patted Heine's head.

With the care of the sword-wielding boy Heiny and the protection of the shield-guard Hag, he has hardly encountered any significant attacks in recent battles.

Huo Jixing nodded slightly, then turned back to the vehicle to search for items.

The scout team has gained a lot from the recent successful interceptions.

However, Huo Jixing himself did not receive any rune items, which made him somewhat anxious, and he even suspected that the rune items he had received before were due to the favor of the god of fortune.

Suddenly!

As he used his mental senses to detect whether there were runic items inside the vehicle, he saw black crows hovering above the battlefield, occasionally letting out hoarse cries, as if celebrating something.

"Birds are chirping. Crows... something's wrong!"

Huo Jixing looked up at the black crows overhead, suddenly snapped out of his daze, and a crimson light appeared in his eyes.

He looked around and saw many clouds rising.

It wasn't close at hand, but rather approached the battlefield at a rapid pace, moving from afar.

Looking into the distance, there are quite a few clouds, about fifty in number.

Most of them were grayish-black, but among the many clouds, there was a fist-thick, azure-blue cloud that seemed to be a cold front, bringing a bone-chilling cold.

It wasn't just the enemy emerging from afar.

Under his crimson gaze, many black clouds rose from the scout team nearby, a mixture of gray and black, swaying uncertainly.

"Enemy approaching! Retreat immediately!" Huo Jixing roared.

Upon hearing the order, the Noxian scouts immediately stopped what they were doing, abandoned their spoils, and prepared to leave quickly.

Under the bright yellow firelight, the hurried figures of the Noxian scouts could be faintly seen.

However, just as they were leaving the burning caravan, a series of sharp whistling sounds came from afar.

Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!

The snow curtain parted, and a dark shadow fell.

"It's an arrow!"

Sharuba turned his head and saw the sharp arrows falling from the sky. His expression changed drastically: "Heig, Tulio!"

The minotaur Hag and shield guard Tulio, who had not yet left the chariot formation, immediately turned around and appeared at the back of the group, raising their heavy and sturdy shields.

Bang!Bang!Bang!

The muffled sound continued.

The minotaur, Heg, stood motionless, his massive body pressed against the snow.

Shield Guard Tulio staggered, taking several steps back to dissipate the immense force transmitted through the shield.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a dark cloud looming in the distance, looming large and close in.

Numerous crows hovered overhead, their beaks open, their hoarse cries sounding like the whispers of death, swirling around them and stirring a restless feeling in everyone's hearts.
