Noxus Glory

Chapter 53 Desperate Prey Takes the Bait

Chapter 53 Desperate Prey Takes the Bait

puff!puff!

In the thick snow, a clan warrior with a panicked expression and blood-stained robes ran blindly along the mountain path, his feet sinking deep into the snow.

"Noxians!"

"Why are there these damn Noxians here?!"

The clan warrior stumbled and fell in the snow.

He then quickly got up, turned around and looked behind him. Seeing that no dark red figure appeared, he gasped for breath.

He couldn't remember how far he had fled, but all he could think about was getting away from that bloody battlefield.

The clan warrior looked down and saw that he was covered in blood, unsure whether it was his own or that of his comrades.

In short, it wasn't those Noxians.

"They are demons, evil spirits from the howling abyss!"

The Noxians who surrounded and killed them were elite soldiers clad in crimson armor.

They hid in the snow and launched a sudden attack as a supply convoy passed by.

Most importantly, they were very familiar with the convoy's movements, as if they had been watching it all along, and had laid a trap in the places the convoy passed through, catching the convoy completely off guard.

"Flames, an evil spirit draped in flames!"

The clan warrior's eyes widened in terror as he hastily scooped up the cold snowflakes and wiped his face.

"No, not here!"

The clan warrior looked back and saw bloody traces following the footprints, and in the distance, he could hear the soft sound of snowflakes falling.

"I must continue to run away. They can't catch me. I must tell the clan elders."

The clan warriors caught their breath and began to run again.

puff!

A gray shadow pierced through the snow curtain with terrifying force, directly penetrating the clan warrior and pinning him firmly to the snow.

It's an arrow!

The clan warrior looked at the arrow piercing his chest with despair, recognizing it as his comrade's weapon.

Then, a middle-aged man wearing dark red armor and leather boots came into view.

On that cold face, a scar ran across his left eye, but it couldn't conceal the exhilarating killing intent and hatred in his pupils.

"They escaped pretty quickly!"

Rand stretched out his left foot and stepped on the clan warrior's head, then drew a sharp dagger from his waist, preparing to torture him.

"Rand, hurry! The sergeant is still waiting for us!"

Behind him, DeWitt's young figure appeared, holding a bleeding ear in his hand.

"Not bad, kid!"

Rand raised an eyebrow, immediately abandoning his intention to torture the other person, and directly used the dagger to slash across the neck and cut off the other person's ear.

After he finished, without even glancing at the desperate clan warrior who was bleeding profusely and heading towards death, he walked up to DeWitt and spoke with a smile.

"Let's go back!"

The two walked side by side, gradually disappearing into the cold snow.

Sizzle! Sizzle!

The pale, clean fur cloak was used to wipe the blade in his hand. After a few times, the bright red color seeped into the cloak, taking away the bloodstains on the blade.

"call!"

Huo Jixing raised the slender longsword, blew on it, and saw his handsome face reflected in it, a satisfied smile appearing on his face.

He then discarded the fur cloak that resembled that of a clan elder, and lightly slashed at the air with his knife, cutting the scattered snowflakes.

"It's alright, the quality is good, and there's not a single sign of damage even after continuous battles."

Huo Jixing ran his fingers along the blade, and couldn't help but think of the quartermaster's mention of Juewo Fortress. The ore produced there was indeed of good quality, so it was no wonder that he would have inappropriate thoughts later on.

"Hmm? You're injured?"

Huo Jixing exclaimed in surprise when he saw Eric walking over.

His gaze fell on the burning vehicles behind him, where figures moved about and the screams gradually faded away.

"There's a tough one here!"

Ignoring the knife mark on his cheek, Eric plopped down next to Hojixing.

"But in the end I still won, adding another glorious chapter to my record of achievements."

Eric patted the blood-stained leather pouch at his waist; judging from its bulge, it contained quite a few spoils of war.

"Look, Rand and DeWitt are back too!"

Upon hearing the sound, Huo Jixing looked over and saw Rand and DeWitt returning not far away. At the same time, the battle in the circular vehicle formation also came to an end.

Crimson is a symbol of glory, and ultimate victory still belongs to Noxus!

Not far away, flames rose from the burning carts, their orange glow illuminating the people in the snow.

Huo Jixing looked at the Noxian scouts who had assembled in front of him one by one.

The continuous battles left them exhausted, and they bore various injuries.

But they remained excited, like a pack of wolves with a burning desire to kill, eager to start the next battle.

During this period, under Oakes' leadership, things began to go more smoothly.

In total, this time alone, we have successfully intercepted three supply transport convoys.

Apart from the water and food they had prepared, all other supplies were burned.

"Set off!"

Huo Jixing licked his lips, which were moistened by water, and, wearing a fur cloak, stared straight at the people in front of him as he slowly walked towards the dark snow curtain.

Eric and the others behind him also composed themselves and followed Huo Jixing, disappearing into the vast night.

It took about half a day.

The burned-out car pile was already shrouded in black shadows before it could be completely covered by snow.

Wow—wow—wow!

The crows circling overhead let out mournful cries and landed in the convoy, searching for charred flesh and blood.

In the distance, the warriors of the Toothed Raven Clan were charging in.

Clad in black feathered cloaks, they gazed at the horrific and shocking scene of burning, their expressions unusually somber.

The remaining flames melted snowflakes and some animal fur, producing a hazy mist that hung over the battlefield.

The lingering smell of blood, carried on the cold wind, remained incredibly strong.

The smell of burning mixed with the air made it so polluted that it was impossible for ordinary people to approach.

The crows, however, remained unaffected as they searched.

The charred corpses of clan warriors appeared in the hazy mist, a particularly gruesome sight. Their skin was blackened and their faces were contorted, as if telling the story of the suffering they had endured.

"The War Stonemason!"

The blood at the corner of Barolok's mouth was from biting his lip.

As the leader of the Raven Clan, he had been following this Noxian scouting party for seven or eight days, enduring the dust.

He always arrived hastily after the battle was over.

Looking at the burning scene left in the distance, he felt hatred in his heart, but he was helpless.

"I, Baroric, swear here and now that I will never let you go!" Baroric said through gritted teeth, gripping his blue scimitar tightly.

After Barlowic finished venting.

A raven warrior stepped out from behind and cautiously said, "Lady Sejuani, the War Mother, has sent a message."

"They're asking when we can bring the Noxian scout's head?"

puff!

Black blood gushed into the air, splattering across the face of the Raven Warrior. His terrified eyes and trembling legs silently spoke of the fear in his heart.

He then immediately realized that the blood was not his, but rather came from Barolorik's hands.

A black crow that was crushed to pieces!

"Huff huff huff!" Baroric gasped for breath, his eyes bloodshot.

He could imagine Sejuani's anger. The Winter's Claw tribe, already lacking food and supplies, would surely suffer even more after his repeated defeats.

"Tell Lady Sejuani, the fifth day."

"No, I will return within three days with the head of the Noxian scout."

"Yes, Chief." The Raven Warrior knelt on one knee and answered respectfully.

"Actually, perhaps we can change our approach. This kind of tracking will always be one step behind the War Stonemason."

Hearing the words in his ear, Baroric suppressed his anger and turned to look at the Raven Warrior in front of him.

"Tell me, what suggestions do you have?"

The Raven Warrior looked into Baloric's blood-red eyes, swallowed hard, and said softly, "We've already witnessed the power of the War Stonemason."

"Since we can't catch them, why don't we find a supply convoy and use it as bait to lure them in?"

"After all, their objective is to disrupt the supply lines."

"Interesting, very interesting!"

After a moment of contemplation, Barolok, understanding his subordinate's meaning, his eyes flashing, immediately spoke in a low voice.

"Excellent suggestion!"

"If the plan succeeds, I will report you to Lady Sejuani for credit!"

Upon hearing this, the warriors of the Raven Clan suddenly became fervent, prostrating themselves on the ground in gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Chief!"

"hehe!"

Baroric chuckled softly, riding Ernuk to the edge of the burned-out caravan, his gaze growing increasingly cold.

"Let's see how you escape this time!"
