Noxus Glory
Chapter 47 Captain Farong of the Crow Tribe
Chapter 47 Captain Farong of the Crow Tribe
Inside the mammoth skin tent.
The thick fur protected it from the howling wind and falling snowflakes.
An oil lamp was lit, its dim light illuminating the hazy figures and the tattered carpet on the ground.
Tell me in detail.
Sejuani sat on the blanket with an air of authority, looking at the Blood Warrior leader in front of her.
"Three days ago, Lukash led his Blood Warrior squad to pursue a Noxian scout squad that had penetrated deep into Freljord," the Blood Warrior leader said in a low voice.
"But we haven't received any news yet, so it's highly likely that..."
Sejuani frowned, pursed her dark purple lips, and stared at the map of Freljord spread out on the table.
This map was painstakingly created by the Winter's Claw Clan and all their blood allies.
The map clearly marks the location of each area in Freljord, and notes the different danger levels after each name.
Right now, right in front of the Winter's Claw clan's location in the southern region of Freljord, a large area of red is spreading wildly, and some thin red lines have already reached the vicinity of the Winter's Claw clan.
"Which Noxian scout squad has infiltrated the rear?" Sejuani asked intently, her fingers tracing the red area.
"The fourth one!" Blood Warrior answered without hesitation.
"So, at least four Noxian scout squads have penetrated deep into our rear?" Sejuani frowned, her expression full of displeasure.
She then stood up and walked to the Blood Warrior leader. His tall stature allowed her to look down upon the person she valued.
Seemingly unable to withstand the indifferent gaze, the Blood Warrior leader lowered his head, his face, smeared with blood, filled with shame and embarrassment.
"I will personally set out and rip the heads off these Noxian scum."
The Blood Warrior leader knelt on one knee and made a pledge to Sejuani.
"Need not!"
Sejuani's gaze passed over the Blood Warrior leader and landed on the spoils inside the tent: a set of sturdy, deep red armor.
"Darius!"
She understood Noxus's intentions and knew that the scouts' purpose was to disrupt the tribe's supply lines.
The Winterclaw clan is now facing a severe food shortage.
If we lack supplies from our alliance members, then this battle is pointless; we can declare it over early.
"I must win this war!"
Sejuani clenched her fists, thinking to herself about the emaciated tribal children she had seen during the day.
"Give the order that everyone rest and then continue towards the Winterthorn Mountain Road," Sejuani instructed the Blood Warrior leader before her.
"Yes!" The Blood Warrior leader glanced at the stern-faced War Mother, then turned and left.
Sejuani couldn't wait.
She wanted to end this protracted war and prevent more of her people from dying.
"So why can't Darius wait?"
The Noxian army's sudden invasion somewhat disrupted her plans.
However, the course of this war is still under her control.
Sejuani recalled the news she had heard before: the Noxian Empire had suffered a major defeat in the Ionia Islands, with its elite forces suffering heavy losses and it had begun to switch from offense to defense.
"Besides this, there must be things happening in the Noxian Empire that I don't know about!"
"But it doesn't matter now!" Sejuani's hand gripped the armor, and a wisp of blue frost quickly spread, freezing the armor.
"Darius, my former defeated opponent, I will defeat you again."
Returning to the table, Sejuani looked at the unfolded map, beckoned to the Blood Warrior guarding her side, and gave him instructions.
"Go and speak to the leader of the Raven Clan, and tell him to come see me!"
Ironthorn Mountains.
The dawn breaks before daybreak, dispelling the veil of night.
The snowflakes continued to fall, their silvery-gray glow covering the undulating mountains.
As the first rays of dawn faded, a strong smell of rust filled the air.
In addition, the bloodstains left after each battle, like a babbling brook, eroded the snow-white ground.
Tap tap! Tap tap! Tap tap!
Suddenly, the sound of horses' hooves, like a sudden downpour, rang out.
The silence between the snow-capped mountains and hills was broken, and fresh snowflakes were stirred up.
Eight cavalrymen, clad in black and red armor, rode their armored warhorses at breakneck speed along the mountain road, their hooves stained with specks of blood as they galloped.
These are Noxian scout cavalry.
They were all elites selected by the Legion's advisors, and their numbers totaled only one hundred and twenty.
Compared to ordinary scouts, they had better armor and weapons, were personally commanded by Darius, and were permanently subordinate to Darius.
They are usually assigned urgent tasks such as reconnaissance and communication.
Beyond the earthen slope, the view suddenly opened up, revealing a huge camp with smoke rising from it, and the noise filled the air above the mountains.
Upon hearing the rapid sound of horses' hooves, the soldiers at the camp gate looked toward the source of the sound.
Upon seeing that they were scout cavalry, they immediately pushed aside the barricades, leaving enough space for them to pass.
In the center of the camp, a huge leather tent stands, with a crimson imperial flag fluttering in the wind.
Seemingly sensing someone's arrival, Darius gestured for the Noxian soldiers behind him to stop, and began to straighten his heavy, menacing armor himself.
The tent was pushed open, and a tall Noxian man clad in silver-gray armor walked in and bowed respectfully to Darius.
"Ben, what's the matter?"
Darius turned around, looked at Captain Ben Faron in front of him, and asked.
"The scouts have reported that they have roughly located the area where the Winter's Claw tribe is situated." Captain Ben Faron looked up, his crimson eyes reflected in his helmet.
Like the Legion advisor Wilson, Ben Faron had followed Darius for many years and was highly regarded, serving as Darius's right-hand man.
Upon hearing this, Darius quickly strode to the conference table, spread out a map, and scanned the Freljord region with his dark eyes.
"Continue to send out scouts. I need to know the exact location of the Winter's Claw tribe," Darius said in a low voice, pointing to several locations marked on the map.
"Furthermore, issue orders to have the vanguard legion set out and eliminate the surrounding clan warriors."
"I don't want to see a single clan warrior before the final battle."
Captain Ben Faron hesitated for a moment, then his deep voice came from inside his silver-gray helmet: "Do you need me to go?"
Darius looked at Captain Faron, his hard face shaking slightly, his deep eyes growing ever more intense, as if a layer of blood covered his black pupils.
"No need, this is just a probing attack."
"What I want is to crush the Winter's Claw clan and achieve final victory in this war!"
Darius thought of Sejuani riding the Juvask Boar, and his deep voice echoed in the tent.
"Then, carrying the glory of Noxus, return to the Immortal Fortress!"
Shortly afterward, a rumbling sound was heard throughout the camp.
First came scout cavalrymen, like a pack of wolves, running and galloping across the snow, surging in all directions.
Next came the vanguard.
Countless Noxian soldiers, clad in sturdy armor and wielding sharp blades, charged into the vast, boundless land of ice and snow.
