Noxus Glory

Chapter 3 Noxus Forge

Chapter 3 Noxus Forge

In the dead of winter.

The golden rays of dawn descended, soaking into the clouds, like carefully drawn, beautiful lines, adding a layer of gorgeous feathers to the buildings on the mountainside.

As Huo Jixing walked along the cobblestone streets, he truly felt the vastness of the Noxian camp beneath his feet and the richness of its buildings, which was completely different from what he had imagined.

It was less a camp and more a war fortress.

Especially after leaving the rest area, Huo Jixing clearly felt the strict order of the camp, which was quite astonishing.

Every hundred meters or so, there are sentry posts and Noxian soldiers on duty. You need to show your token before you can pass and move on to the next area.

With DeWitt leading the way, the two arrived at their destination without any problems.

Noxus Camp, Southwest Region.

As soon as Huo Jixing stepped into the quartermaster department, he heard a continuous roar of steel and an unbearable heat that seemed to engulf his body like a rolling heat wave.

"It's the Noxian Forge!"

Before Huo Jixing could ask, DeWitt exclaimed excitedly, his slightly burning gaze sweeping over the buildings in front of him and landing on the towering crimson furnace not far away.

Huo Jixing followed DeWitt's gaze and looked up.

In the distance, flames could be seen burning fiercely, shooting into the sky, a brilliant crimson light illuminating half the heavens.

At the same time, the chaotic and noisy roar of steel seemed to never stop echoing in their ears, occasionally punctuated by the angry shouts and rebukes of many Noxian craftsmen.

"What a beautiful sound!"

"As long as the empire marches on, it will continue to resound."

Hearing DeWitt's whispered murmur, Huo Jixing's eyes flickered, memories surged, and he recalled some information about the Noxian Empire that he had seen in his previous life.

Legend has it that the Noxian forge never cools down!

They have been mass-producing swords, axes, and armor, providing a strong guarantee of power for the Noxian Empire's conquests.

Rather than focusing on flashy appearances, Noxian artisans prioritize the practicality of weapons and armor, so their designs often integrate multiple uses while ensuring durability and usability.

This has allowed Noxus to maintain a lead in equipment over other factions on the Valoran continent.

"Truly worthy of Noxus!"

Through the interplay between the two, Huo Jixing clearly imagined in his mind the Noxian Empire's fervor and desire for war.

The Noxian forge right before us is constantly forging weapons and armor, not to mention the other military camps and forges scattered throughout the empire.

Every day, every moment, countless weapons and armor are transported to every place where war has ended, through various means of transport.

DeWitt patted Hojixing on the shoulder, signaling him to follow, and walked toward the complex of buildings that connected to the Noxian Forge.

The dark gray main building stands majestically, rising straight to the sixth floor, with its stone steps polished smooth, rugged and solemn.

After climbing the stone steps, the thick, sturdy steel doors opened wide, and DeWitt and Hojixing entered the main building of the quartermaster department without being questioned.

Perhaps because it was early morning, there were not many people in the spacious hall, only a few people were talking quietly.

DeWitt chose a familiar passage, walked to the wooden counter, tapped the table, handed over an iron token, and said softly, "Receive a set of equipment; this is proof."

"Eric's squad?!"

Behind the wooden counter, the quartermaster, clad in light red armor, put down his token and looked at Huo Jixing with a puzzled expression.

"A newcomer?"

"No." Huo Jixing looked at the dark-skinned quartermaster with graying temples in front of him and explained, "The armor and weapons we had before were too badly damaged to be used."

"Lucky guy!" the quartermaster exclaimed in surprise.

It is quite rare for armor to survive when it is completely destroyed.

"A set of standard armor and a standard longsword," the quartermaster called out to those behind him, then looked at DeWitt and began chatting.

"A new mission?"

"Yes, we're going to Freljord again this time!" DeWitt said with a smile. The other party was an old friend of Lord Eric, and they could chat freely as long as they didn't get to the specifics of the mission.

Of course, apart from Lord Eric, no one else in the team has the right to know the specific details of this mission.

"Freljord?" The quartermaster raised an eyebrow, his smile fading, his serious gaze shifting between DeWitt and Hojistar.

Just then, footsteps sounded behind them, and a Noxian apprentice, shirtless, walked over carrying a set of crimson armor and a sharp longsword.

"Composite armor, standard longsword," the quartermaster said, pointing to the crimson armor and longsword in front of him.

Composite armor, as the name suggests, is composed of a combination of various types of armor.

The armor in front of me is made of deep red iron armor, mixed with hard leather armor and thick cotton armor. It is a robe that covers the whole body.

Don't underestimate the style of the robe armor. It was specially crafted by Noxian craftsmen to cope with the frigid weather of Freljord, and it has excellent defensive capabilities and cold resistance.

The standard longsword is a plain-looking, unremarkable steel longsword.

The sword is about three feet long and about one inch wide. It is straight with two blades and has a blood groove, which perfectly meets the practicality of Noxian craftsmen.

Watching Huo Jixing pick up his armor and longsword, the quartermaster said softly, "I hope to see you here to collect your equipment again next time!"

Huo Jixing paused, looked at the quartermaster in front of him, and nodded slightly: "Thank you for your kind words!"

He then carried his armor and longsword, and followed DeWitt, who waved his arm behind him, as they left the quartermaster's quarters.

Behind the wooden counter, the quartermaster watched as DeWitt and Hojixing disappeared through the doorway, muttering under his breath, "Damn Freljord, damn Winter's Claw!"

The increasingly intense war situation has already claimed too many Noxian soldiers' lives.

Many of the people he knew, or his comrades-in-arms, are now buried forever on that cruel and merciless frozen land in the north.

Back to the rest area.

Huo Jixing stopped, holding the armor and weapons in his arms, looked at DeWitt, and said, "You can go ahead and do what you need to do. I can get used to the new weapons and armor on my own."

He was self-aware; although Corporal Eric had asked DeWitt to look after him, in wartime, every soldier's time was precious.

"Okay." DeWitt looked at Hojixing intently, without refusing. "I live with the sergeant and the others. You can come to me anytime if you need anything."

Huo Jixing smiled and nodded, watching DeWitt walk away slowly.

He then quickly returned to his room following the route he had just memorized.

Crunch!

Once the wooden door is closed, it seems to shut out the noise from the outside world, leaving only a lonely world that belongs to oneself.

Huo Jixing put down the armor and weapons in his arms, and his expression suddenly became much more relaxed.

Regardless of his behavior, deep down he still felt some resistance to life here, and at least he couldn't integrate into it quickly.

However, the thought of the mission to Freljord in five days brought a strange sense of urgency to my heart, and some lingering bloody images flashed through my mind.

Huo Jixing's gaze shifted slightly, landing on the composite armor in front of him.

He immediately took off his thick coat and, with some effort, put on the composite armor. It was a bit heavy, but within his tolerance.

Because it is standard armor, the size is just right, and it feels noticeably comfortable and warm when worn.

Huo Jixing moved his body in place without any hindrance.

He casually picked up the steel longsword again, its sharp, cold light reflecting off his pale, resolute, and handsome face.

Based on the fragmented images in his mind and muscle memory, he tried to swing the longsword.

Waaaaah! Waaaaah! Waaaaah!

The sharp blade sliced through the air with a series of whistling sounds, and with each swing, Huo Jixing's movements became increasingly skilled and adept.

click!

In a moment of carelessness, the longsword struck the original-colored wooden table, leaving a deep mark.

"this"

Huo Jixing looked at the table, then at the longsword in his hand, and reluctantly stopped practicing his movements.

With nothing to do, he spent some more time alone in his room, trying to sort out his chaotic thoughts. When it was almost time, he put on his composite armor and went out to the restaurant.

Although the Noxian Empire suffered from resource scarcity due to the Rune Wars, the food provided to its soldiers was still quite good. The meals generally consisted of meat, bread, and some vegetables, which were enough to fill them up.

Of course, this is the standard for regular frontline battle groups, not including ordinary battle groups.

After finishing his meal, Huo Jixing went to queue up again, got some water, and took it back to his room.

Speaking of water sources, since the military camp was built against the mountain, Huo Jixing once guessed that water resources would need to be controlled, just like in his previous life in ancient times.

Unexpectedly, the Noxian war stonemasons built a water supply system on-site, taking advantage of the geographical environment, to facilitate the camp's use.

Ordinary soldiers like Huo Jixing only needed to line up in advance to get water.

"The War Stonemason!"

Inside the quiet stone house, Huo Jixing lay on his back on the bed, his head resting on his arms, as a multitude of thoughts flooded his mind.

He recalled a war stonemason he had once seen from afar, dressed in a brown robe, and the image somewhat overlapped with his memory.

In my previous life, as I got older, I couldn't play games as well anymore and often lost in ranked matches. So, I would take advantage of my free time to look at the lore and background stories of the League of Legends universe.

This is why he is quite familiar with the continent of Valoran.

The War Stonemason was featured prominently in the Noxus chapter.

They were resourceful scouts, engineers, and warriors who designed and oversaw the construction of roads, bridges, and fortifications. They were rare all-rounders and among the most elite soldiers in the Noxian Empire.

Besides that, other images and information began to appear in my mind, such as soldiers of the Trevor Legion and many famous Noxian heroes.

Countless chaotic thoughts flooded his mind like a tide, and coupled with the words of the centurion Eric about Freljord that morning, he became increasingly agitated and anxious.

"What am I thinking?"

Huo Jixing suddenly came to his senses, let out a soft breath, patted his face, and a helpless look appeared on his face.

Freljord, like a blood-red curse, haunted his heart, shattering his peaceful life of the past month and completely disturbing his restless mind.

Unable to calm down, he suddenly had a thought and brought up the data panel.

As if remembering something, he hurriedly got up and went out again.
