Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 9 The eldest sister wants to go on a blind date.

Mr. Yu returned home feeling dizzy all the way. He carried a large bag of things, but he hadn't sold a single small green bead.

He also knew that Xiao Si not only had two boxes of these beads, but also two boxes of black beads. His Xiao Si is only 6 years old, this is going to be incredible!

Yu's father's heart was pounding uncontrollably.

No, this must not be told. No one can be told. At that moment, a father's caution formed a strong protective layer in his mind.

His children absolutely cannot be treated differently. He has heard about the plight of special needs children more than once.

Back home, Yu's mother rushed to greet him. "How did it go? Did it go smoothly?"

"Same as always. We've been supplying our goods to his shop all these years, what could possibly go wrong?" Mr. Yu handed the money from the sale to Mrs. Yu. "Keep these safe."

"That's good!" Mrs. Yu went into the inner room.

Mr. Yu walked up to Yu Meng. "Little Si'er, come in, Daddy wants to talk to you about something."

Yu Meng nodded obediently and followed behind her father.

After entering the house, Mr. Yu closed the door. Then he took a gold coin out of his pocket. "This is the money from selling your bead."

Yu Meng took it and glanced at it. A gold coin. Just as she expected, it was very expensive.

Yu Meng looked up at her father. She knew that he had closed the door because he must have something to say to her.

"Little Si'er, you must remember what Dad is about to tell you."

Yu Meng looked at him and nodded.

"You're six years old this year. These kinds of beads aren't something you should be able to get your hands on at your age. You can't act too special. Otherwise, Dad won't be able to protect you."

Yu Meng nodded seriously.

"Don't let anyone see these beads in the future, not even your mother. You're still too young. If someone tries to harm you, we're just an ordinary family; no one can protect you."

Yu Meng smiled, "I'm very capable."

Mr. Yu reached out and patted her little head. "I know, my little Si'er is the best."

Clearly, what Yu Meng said about being powerful and what her father said about being powerful are two different things.

The father and daughter reached an agreement, and Yu Meng secretly slipped the gold coin into the bottom of a box.

The matter gradually passed as one person remained silent and the other intentionally concealed it.

Yu Meng still takes back the two green beads and the two black beads every day without fail.

But she never let her father sell them again.

When she woke up that morning, she heard her older sister's voice. She quickly got dressed and got out of bed. Sure enough, her older sister was in the kitchen making breakfast with her mother.

Yu Meng ran over and took her sister's hand. Da Li turned to look at Yu Meng. "Little sister, you're awake."

Yu Meng smiled and looked at her older sister, nodding her little head several times.

While eating breakfast, Yu Meng sat close to her eldest sister. Yu's mother jokingly said, "What will you do if your eldest sister gets married?"

Yu Meng looked at her mother. Her eldest sister's fiancé had been arranged. How come she didn't know about this?

Looking at her expression, Yu's mother knew what she was thinking. "Your eldest sister came back this time to talk about this."

Yu Meng was completely devastated.

She held Dali's hand and shook her head. "You're still so young, how can you become someone else's wife?"

Seeing her like this, Dali patted her head. "Let's just see how it goes first. If it works out, we'll just get engaged first."

Yu Meng looked at Dali, "I'll take a look for you."

"Oh my, my little Si'er has finally spoken!" Mother Yu clapped her hands, her face beaming with delight.

Dali was also very happy; she owed half of her current life to her younger sister. "Thank you, little sister. I'll listen to you, big sister."

Mr. Yu stood to the side, pursing his lips. He, the head of the family, had lost all his authority; everyone was saying they listened to Xiao Si'er.

Yu Meng nodded, "You all listen to me, I won't cheat you."

Three days later, a couple arrived at their home with a boy.

Yu's parents warmly welcomed the family of three. They prepared a large table of dishes, including two plates of meat dishes.

During the meal, Yu Meng sat next to her eldest sister.

Dali served food to her younger sister as usual. Yu Meng kept her head down and ate silently the whole time.

"Aunt Yu, is your youngest child six years old this year?" the boy's mother asked.

"Yes, she's exactly six years old this year," said Mrs. Yu with a smile.

"Did you go to town to retrieve the line drawing book? What's its number?"

Yu Meng raised her head and looked straight at her.

The boy's mother looked at Yu Meng, who was looking at her. "I was just asking casually. I didn't mean anything by it." The child's eyes were so dark, like a whirlpool.

Mrs. Yu quickly tried to smooth things over. "It's about the same as his sister's." She turned to Yu Meng. "Little Si'er, are you full? Mom will add some more food for you."

Yu Meng turned her head to look at her mother, then shook her head.

The boy's mother loosened her clenched fist. The child's eyes were terrifying; when she looked at her, she broke out in a cold sweat.

The older woman and the boy didn't exchange a single word throughout the entire process.

Yu Meng carefully examined the boy. He was of average height and good-looking. Hmm, he seemed to listen to his mother a lot. Oh, he's a mama's boy.

Yu Meng looked at her eldest sister and shook her head.

Dali's eyes widened.

Yu Meng nodded, then shook her head. "I was right, this person is no good."

Dali nodded in agreement. "No, let's move on to the next one."

Yu Meng smiled. Her older sister really listened to her. She was so happy.

After the family of three left, Mr. Yu first looked at Yu Meng and asked, "Little Si'er, what do you think of this person?"

Yu Meng shook her head. Not good; it wouldn't be kind to her older sister.

The mother also looked at her little girl. "You don't think he's a good match. I think he's alright."

Yu Meng rolled her eyes.

Seeing her like that, the other three laughed together.

"What do you think, Dali?" Yu's parents finally looked at Dali.

"If even my little sister says no, then we'll just forget about it."

Her mother glared at her. "How could you listen to your little sister about something like this? She's just a child, what does she know?"

Yu Meng looked at her mother and nodded heavily. "I understand."

Mother Yu then turned to Father Yu. "You're just watching Xiao Si'er make a fool of himself."

"I also think that kid isn't quite right. Every time he says something, the boy looks at his mother. He clearly lacks his own opinions," Mr. Yu finally expressed his opinion.

Yu Meng kept nodding her head. "Yes, yes, that's exactly it."

Mom sighed. "Since none of the three of you agree, I'll talk to Aunt Zhang tomorrow and we'll call it even."

Aunt Zhang was a matchmaker in the surrounding villages. Her husband's surname was Zhang, so everyone called her Aunt Zhang. She had a silver tongue and a knack for talking.
