Why did you provoke me?

Chapter 71 Dali's Misfortune Turns into a Blessing

Li Yiqing opened his mouth wide, a bitter feeling welling up inside him. "Uncle, Aunt, Little Sister."

"Dali!" Aunt Yu pushed aside the two people blocking her way, walked quickly to the bedside, and stretched out her trembling hand. "Dali, Mom is here, don't be afraid." Tears fell like beads off a string, hitting Dali's face one by one.

Jiang Mingfeng sluggishly looked up at Aunt Yu, then slapped himself hard across the face. "It's all my fault, I didn't keep an eye on her." His voice was hoarse, and his eyes were red.

Yu Meng glanced at him and said, "You're really useless."

He turned to look at Li Yiqing. "Take your little cousin to bed, don't get in the way."

Yu Meng walked to the bedside. "Mom, don't cry, my sister can hear me." She pointed to the corner of Dali's eye, where a tear was hanging.

Dad came over and said, "Dali, don't be afraid. No matter what, Dad will take care of you."

Yu Meng knew these were the most heartwarming words. But they didn't know that as long as she was there, how could she let her vibrant older sister lie on this cold bed?

"Mom, you and Dad must be tired after a long day of travel. Go sit down for a bit, I've come to check on my older sister. Don't worry, I'm here, I'll make sure nothing happens to her."

Yu Meng's eyes were full of seriousness. Her mother looked at her, "Really?"

Yu Meng nodded, "I never lie to you."

Yu's mother nodded and stood aside with Yu's father.

Yu Meng nodded to Sister Xiu, "Sister Xiu, I really owe you a lot these past few days."

Sister Xiu came over to help Yu's mother, and looked at Yu Meng, saying, "She's also my sister."

Yu Meng sat down by Dali's bedside, staring at Dali's head. Generally, unconsciousness indicates a problem with the head.

Yu Meng's eyes suddenly narrowed. She rubbed her eyes in disbelief. She really wasn't mistaken; a black line had appeared in her older sister's mind. Now that the black and white lines were in balance, Dali was temporarily unconscious. Yu Meng suppressed a smile. Her older sister had actually turned misfortune into a blessing.

Yu Meng turned to look at her parents and said, "Let's take my eldest sister home and go through the discharge procedures now."

"Little sister."

"Little Four".

All three looked at her. Yu Meng nodded affirmatively.

"Little sister, I'll take care of the formalities. I know this place well," Sister Xiu offered to handle the matter.

Yu's mother came over, and Yu Meng whispered in her ear, "Just like I was back then, I can wake up my older sister when we get home. Nothing will happen to her."

Yu Ma lay on Yu Meng's body and cried loudly, "You're trying to kill me!"

Yu Meng patted her mother's back, "We'll take even better care of you and Dad from now on. Your good days are yet to come."

Yu's father asked with his eyes, "What's wrong with your mother?"

Yu's mother also realized that it was inappropriate for her to lie on Yu Meng's body and cry, so she stood up and wiped away her tears. She walked over to Yu's father and said, "Just like when Xiao Si was little."

Yu's father's eyes lit up. "I'll carry Dali down."

The dark clouds dispersed. Mr. Yu felt full of energy.

When Li Yiqing returned to the hospital after settling Jiang Mingfeng in, the bed was empty.

He rushed to find the doctor, "Where is the patient in that room?"

The doctor looked up at him. "Her family came and checked her out. We tried to stop them, but we couldn't. Experts from the provincial capital are coming tomorrow, saying it's a special case and they want to have a consultation. But the family refuses to leave any records, saying they'll take responsibility for her life or death."

Li Yiqing leaned against the hospital wall, and at that moment he really wanted to smoke a cigarette.

When he got home, Grandpa Li looked at him in the living room and said, "You explained this matter to her family, so why did you come back so quickly?"

Li Yiqing sat on the sofa, pinching the bridge of his nose with one hand. "The person was discharged from the hospital. When I went there, the person had already passed away."

"Oh, didn't they just arrive? They've made a decision so quickly. Sigh, they're really angry. They didn't even talk to Mingfeng." Grandpa Li sighed. "Take Mingfeng back to town tomorrow; we need to give them an explanation."

"Grandpa, it's no use saying anything more. The girl is lying there, unconscious, that's the fact."

In the car.

Yu Ma held Dali in her arms, looking at Yu Meng with a light in her eyes that was longing, pleading, and unease.

Yu Meng sighed.

Yu Meng spoke up, "Zhao Changsheng, pull the car over to the side of the road. Go buy some food, something easy to digest. It's okay if it takes a while."

The car stopped. "Then I'll go find a family to cook some porridge for my older sister, is that alright?" Zhao Changsheng asked in a low voice.

"Okay, ask that family to boil some eggs for us too." Yu Meng said, handing a bag to Zhao Changsheng. "If they have any chicken, they can stew one too."

Zhao Changsheng left. Only Yu's parents and Yu Meng remained in the car.

"I'm trying to wake my older sister up now. But you'd better not tell anyone about this, otherwise I'm afraid our whole family will be in danger."

Mr. Yu said in a low voice, "We know all of this."

Yu Meng released the white lines from her mind.

This was the first time that Yu's parents had ever seen a real line. The line immediately entered Dali's mind without hesitation.

Yu Ma exclaimed in surprise, then realized something and quickly covered her mouth.

This white line was originally from Dali's line drawing book. Therefore, it entered Dali's mind as freely as returning to her own home.

Yu Meng controlled it, wrapping it around the four lines, and then pulled out the black line.

The moment the black line was pulled out, Dali opened her eyes. "Mom, little sister." Then she turned to look at her father, "Dad."

Yu Ma hugged Dali and cried again, "Are you two trying to scare me to death?"

"Mom, don't cry." Dali reached out and wiped away her mother's tears.

Dali looked up at Yu Meng and said, "I knew it. When my little sister arrives, she'll definitely find a way."

Then Dali recounted her experience in that room. At the end, she even chuckled to herself. "Little sister," she said, "don't you think I got a good deal this time?"

Yu Meng nodded firmly. "You took too much of a risk this time."

"There was no other way. In that situation, if I didn't do it, he would have ripped off all my lines. If he had, wouldn't I have become an idiot?" Dali's eyes flashed with a fierce light. "I knew that in that situation, someone would have seen me. And you would have definitely rescued me."

Dali just stood there grinning foolishly. "Look at me, didn't I win the bet?"

"Yes, you won the bet. But my mother's tears almost overwhelmed me too," Yu Meng sighed from the side.

"What are you saying, you little rascal?" Aunt Yu gently patted Yu Meng.

Yu Meng handed the black line to Dali. "After you get home, hide in my little building for a few days and don't let anyone see you. If you get bored, you can play tug-of-war with this black line. When you can control it, it will be yours."

"Really!" Dali clenched her fist. "I can do it."
