Courtyard House: Initial Donation of 50 Million

Chapter 127 First Encounter Amidst Undercurrents, Each with Their Own Thoughts

Having obtained the T-virus and the antidote, Wang Huanbo remained vigilant. Based on the time displayed on his visor and the logs extracted from the Red Queen's data, the Umbrella Corporation's Special Forces Team A should have been inside the Hive for some time. His next key objective: Alice's blood sample.

"It's time to make an appearance with the 'main characters'," Wang Huanbo thought to himself. He needed a relatively "natural" way to meet them, to avoid revealing his full strength too early and causing excessive vigilance or hostility. He decided to head to the Hive's staff rest area or the vicinity of the medical station, which was the area where Team A was active earlier in the original storyline.

He remained in stealth mode, his Predator armor making him appear like a ghost as he moved through the passageways. His Ultraman armor and the Demon Blade Thousand Blades were concealed as trump cards, but his extraordinary perception granted by the Light Gene was fully activated, clearly detecting any signs of life or energy fluctuations within a hundred meters. His body, enhanced by the Super Soldier Serum, was also at its peak. The lightness skills taught by Wong Fei-hung and the power generation techniques of the Tiger-Taming Fist were integrated into every step, ensuring silent movement and the ability to unleash a thunderous strike at any moment.

As he approached the central hall area, a burst of rapid gunfire and faint shouts rang out. Wang Huanbo's eyes narrowed, and he quickened his stealth. Around a corner, he concealed himself in the shadows and saw the scene ahead:

It was Team A! They were trapped in a passageway leading towards the main control room, locked in a fierce firefight with dozens of zombies swarming in from all directions! Team leader James Shade calmly directed the pinpoint fire, while team members Rain Ocampo and JD formed a crossfire network. However, the zombies were too numerous and impervious to bullets; unless shot in the head, they would still stagger forward after being hit, pressing down on their lines. Medic Lisa Addison tended to the still somewhat dazed Alice and Matt Addison. Technician Chambers was trying to hack through a locked security door.

Wang Huanbo's gaze instantly locked onto Alice. Her face was somewhat pale, but her eyes already revealed a sharpness and adaptability beyond that of ordinary people; the T-virus was beginning to take effect in her body. "It's her," Wang Huanbo thought to himself.

Just then, something unexpected happened! A zombie suddenly fell from the ceiling vent, heading straight for Lisa, the medic who was taking care of Alice! Ryan and JD's guns were drawn to the zombie in front of them, and they couldn't get back to help!

"Watch out!" Matt exclaimed, trying to push Lisa away, but he was a step too late!

A fierce glint flashed in Alice's eyes, and she seemed to instinctively want to do something, but her body couldn't keep up with the reaction!

At this critical moment!

"call out--!"

A barely audible whooshing sound rang out! The zombie that pounced on Lisa had its head explode like a rotten watermelon! Blood and bone fragments splattered all over Lisa, who screamed and backed away in fright.

The entire Squad was shocked! Who fired the shot? The sound was wrong! And that precise headshot…

Captain Xue De reacted quickly, shouting, "Ambush! Find cover!" The team members immediately tightened their formation and nervously looked around.

Wang Huanbo deactivated his invisibility and slowly emerged from the shadows. The Predator's alien-style, ferocious, and powerful armor, under the pale lights of the corridor, delivered an unparalleled visual impact and a sense of oppression!

"Who goes there?!" Xue De immediately raised his gun and pointed it at Wang Huanbo, while Ryan and the others were also on high alert. This equipment was clearly not typical of the Umbrella Corporation!

Alice and Matt were also shocked to see this uninvited guest.

Wang Huanbo ignored the gun pointed at him, and a low, cold electronic voice, processed from beneath his visor, said, "If I were you, I would save my bullets and deal with the things behind." He pointed to the other end of the passage, where more zombies were drawn by the gunfire.

His gaze swept over the still-shaken Alice, lingering deliberately for a moment, before he said to Xue De, "Are you sent by the company to 'clean up the mess'? You're too slow; the Hive is beyond saving."

Xue De's eyes were sharp; he didn't lower his gun: "Who are you? What are you doing here? Just now... was it you who fired the shot?"

"Just a passing janitor," Wang Huanbo said calmly. "As for why I'm here... your targets are the Red Queen and the out-of-control BOW, and mine are similar. For now, we have a common enemy." He showed the device on his wrist, which projected a simplified diagram of the Hive, with one point flashing at a high frequency. "I've destroyed most of the Licker incubators in Restaurant B, but there's more trouble near the main server room. If you want to get out of here alive, you'd better cooperate."

This half-truthful statement demonstrated his value (by eliminating some threats), proposed cooperation, and positioned himself in a mysterious but not directly hostile position. The members of Team A exchanged glances, clearly unable to fully trust this mysterious "tin man," but in the current zombie siege, having a powerful ally was better than having a mysterious enemy.

Xue De hesitated for a moment, then slowly lowered his gun: "You can come with us, but don't try anything funny. Chambers, is the door open?"

"Almost done, Captain!" Chambers said, sweating profusely as he worked.

Wang Huanbo said no more, turning to face the surging horde of zombies. He didn't even use his shoulder cannon, simply drawing his wrist blade. His figure flashed, like a tiger among sheep! Huang Feihong's fist and footwork were integrated into the Predator's fighting techniques, his movements as fast as a ghost. His wrist blade flashed with cold light, each strike precisely severing the zombie's cervical vertebrae or destroying its brainstem—extremely efficient, yet possessing a strange beauty. Occasionally, a zombie would pounce from a blind spot; without even looking, he would deliver a side kick like the Shadowless Kick of Foshan, containing the immense power of a super soldier, directly caved in the zombie's chest, sending it flying backward and knocking down a swarm!

The members of Team A were dumbfounded. This skill was simply superhuman! Rain couldn't help but whisper, "My God, what is he...?"

Alice stared intently at Wang Huanbo's fighting figure, her eyes flashing with curiosity and a hint of...familiarity? The T-virus within her seemed to be reacting to a faint energy fluctuation emanating from this mysterious "Tin Man".

The safety door opened quickly, and everyone retreated behind it. Wang Huanbo was the last to enter, using his wrist blade to break the lock and temporarily block the zombies.

The brief period of safety eased the atmosphere slightly, but suspicion and vigilance remained. Xue De began questioning Wang Huanbo about his background and purpose. Wang Huanbo continued to evade the issue by claiming to be an "independent cleaner," and "unintentionally" revealed information that a more dangerous BOW might exist deeper within the Hive, exacerbating Team A's anxiety.

Wang Huanbo, meanwhile, was secretly observing everyone, especially Alice. He was looking for an opportunity to obtain a blood sample from her discreetly. Forcibly drawing it would be out of the question and would cause conflict. The best approach was to obtain it while she was injured, under the guise of treatment, or by taking advantage of the ensuing chaos.

The opportunity soon arrived. While navigating a ventilation duct that required crawling, a lurking zombie dog suddenly lunged at Alice in the middle of the group! Although Xue De and Ryan reacted quickly and killed it, Alice's arm was still slashed in the chaos, leaving a shallow cut that bled.

"You're injured!" Medic Lisa immediately stepped forward to check on you.

Wang Huanbo's heart skipped a beat. He stepped forward and said in an electronic voice, "The concentration of pathogens in the hive is extremely high. Any wound could be fatal. I have highly effective disinfectant and blood-clotting bandages here." He took out a seemingly high-tech medical pen and a sterile dressing from the armor's storage compartment (which was actually the system space).

Lisa hesitated for a moment, but seeing that Wang Huanbo's equipment seemed very advanced, she nodded.

Wang Huanbo knelt down and seemingly skillfully cleaned Alice's wound, applied "disinfectant" (containing a miniature sampling needle), and put on a dressing. The whole process took less than ten seconds. Alice only felt a slight pain, which she thought was a normal reaction to disinfection.

"Alright, it's safe for now. But we'll need to do further checks after we get out." Wang Huanbo stood up and casually put away the used medical pen. No one noticed that a tiny container inside the pen had already collected several milliliters of Alice's blood.

Objective 3: Alice's blood sample, obtained!

With this, Wang Huanbo's main "collection" mission was complete. What remained was the "cleanup" work and how to "reasonably" extricate himself from these characters. The deepest darkness of the Hive was about to awaken because of their arrival. In the oppressive atmosphere, cooperation and suspicion coexisted; the real test had only just begun.
