Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 95 Christmas Gifts
Kane could guess that the letter was most likely written by Voldemort.
It seems that the injuries the other party suffered from the destruction of the Horcrux have almost healed.
Why isn't this guy thinking about how to mess with Harry? He's just thinking about harassing him.
As for the other party's Christmas gift, he thought about it for a while and suddenly had a flash of inspiration.
He took out an exquisite box from the drawer, on which was written in ornate lettering: "Malfoy Family Special - Anti-Hair Loss Magic Potion Set".
Kane took a deep breath and wrote a short reply.
Dear Professor Quirrell:
Thank you for the gift; this notebook is truly impressive. I hope to have the opportunity to learn more about defensive techniques from you in the future.
I know that as a professor, you have a lot of work pressure, and pressure often leads to... well, some minor problems.
Hopefully, these anti-hair loss magic potions and hair care spells will be of some help to you, making you more confident on the podium.
Merry Christmas! May you have beautiful, black hair, just like Professor Snape!
Kane Malfoy
When the owl flies over Quirrell with a gift.
"Voldemort, do you think you can win me over like this?"
Kane muttered to himself, a cold glint in his eyes, "This game has only just begun."
Kane continued unwrapping the gifts.
Harry gave him a Christmas card with a picture of a golden snitch surrounded by green holly leaves.
It's clear that the greeting card was drawn with great care.
The greeting card included a note: "Thank you for your continued help. Wishing you a joyful Christmas. —Harry Potter"
Kane had previously given Harry a picture of Lily that he had taken from Snape.
He also sent Harry a Christmas present in Snape's name.
Kane increasingly felt that he was a very kind wizard, and believed that Snape would thank him.
Hermione gave Kane a book about ancient runes, with Hermione's notes attached to the edges of the pages.
A note was tucked inside the book: "I hope this book will be of some help to you. Merry Christmas! — Hermione Granger"
In fact, Kane had already predicted that Hermione would send him a book.
Therefore, I prepared a silver phoenix feather bookmark for the other person, with the words "wisdom and knowledge" engraved on it.
The rest were some expensive little things sent by the young wizards of Slytherin.
Kane also carefully arranged these items in his bedroom.
Kane's gaze fell on the last gift, which was wrapped with the words "Weasley's Magic Tricks Studio".
He raised an eyebrow, a helpless smile playing on his lips.
"These two... I wouldn't dare to take them apart so easily."
He decided to wait until the next time he saw Fred and George to open the gift in person.
After all, he gave the two of them 500 Galleons for Christmas to support their research.
He didn't want to be "surprised" by their prank gift when he was completely unprepared.
After Kane had placed the last gift, he stood by the window, gazing at the snowy landscape in the distance.
The flames in the fireplace flickered with a warm light, but a complex glint shone in his eyes.
"After Christmas, many things will be different."
He muttered to himself, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.
Kane was about to go downstairs to have Christmas breakfast with his family when he suddenly heard a noise outside the manor.
He walked to the window and looked out through the gaps in the heavy curtains.
Several wizards in long robes were seen standing outside the manor gate.
Behind them was a huge box inlaid with silver patterns.
Their faces were hidden under hoods, and their robes had no obvious family crests or markings, making them appear exceptionally mysterious.
Lucius and Narcissa clearly noticed something was wrong as well.
Lucius had his serpent-headed staff in his hand, his gaze fixed coldly on the direction of the gate.
Narcissa stood beside him, holding Lucius's arm, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.
Kane also went downstairs.
"Dobby!" Kane whispered.
The house-elf immediately appeared beside him, its large ears perking up alertly.
Dobby, go see who's outside.
Dobby nodded and vanished instantly.
A few seconds later, he reappeared, looking somewhat confused.
"Master, they...they won't reveal their identities, they only say they have a gift for Young Master Kane."
Lucius frowned, his voice low and cold: "Refusing to reveal your identity? At this time?"
His fingers tapped lightly on the snake-headed staff, clearly indicating his suspicion of the uninvited guests.
Narcissa gently pressed her husband's arm and whispered, "Perhaps it's an envoy from some family... or someone from the Ministry of Magic, trying to get something."
Lucius snorted but did not refute.
He waved his snake-headed staff, signaling Dobby to open the manor gates.
"Let them in, but keep a close eye on them."
Dobby opened the manor gates and stood right next to Kane.
The large ears perked up warily, and its eyes were fixed on the wizards without blinking.
His fingers were raised, clearly ready to cast a spell to protect Kane at any moment.
"Dobby will protect the young master," the little elf said softly, his voice filled with determination. "Dobby will not let anyone hurt the young master."
Kane patted Dobby on the shoulder gently and said in a low voice, "Thank you, Dobby. But let's see what they're up to first."
Several wizards entered the manor hall, but their faces remained hidden under their hoods.
It's chilling to look at.
The leader was a tall male wizard.
Behind them, they were pulling that huge box.
"Mr. Malfoy, Mrs. Malfoy,"
He bowed slightly and said respectfully, "We are here on your orders to deliver Christmas presents to Mr. Kane Malfoy."
Lucius's gaze swept coldly over them, a hint of mockery in his voice: "Someone sir? You dare come to Malfoy Manor without even uttering your name?"
The other person continued speaking as if they had no emotion whatsoever.
"The identity of this gentleman cannot be disclosed at this time, but he hopes that the Malfoy family can feel his...goodwill."
The wizard gently patted the box, and the silver patterns on it suddenly lit up before slowly opening.
A dazzling golden light shot out from the box, accompanied by a clear chime.
A huge phoenix flew out of the box, its feathers displaying a rare silver-blue hue.
The phoenix circled once in the air before landing on Kane's shoulder, letting out a melodious cry.
Kane stood there, feeling the warmth and power emanating from the phoenix.
Moreover, there is a bond that connects them together.
Kane hadn't expected the gift to be a phoenix.
Kane seemed to already know whose gift it was.
After all, of all the gifts he had given, only Professor Old hadn't reciprocated.
