Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 8 I'm Going to School

Snow thought to himself, "Oh well, when I make my move later, I'll try to hold back a bit so I don't actually hurt this little guy."

Just as the two finalized the competition, Cronin, as if by magic, produced a piece of paper from nowhere.

"Alright, Snow, come here and sign this, so you won't try to back out later." Cronin waved the paper in his hand, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

To ensure the success of this bet, he actually prepared an agreement beforehand, which was quite thorough.

Seeing this, Snow's lips twitched slightly. He muttered a few words but didn't say anything more. He stepped forward, took the pen, and under Kronin's gaze, which was half-smiling and almost unable to suppress his smile, the two of them signed the agreement neatly. Then they each got into position and prepared for battle.

"Then I'll make my move!" Kane bowed slightly, spread his feet apart, lowered his center of gravity, and his eyes instantly sharpened like an eagle's. Then, he launched an attack as swiftly as an arrow released from a bow.

Snow only felt a blur before his eyes, and before he could react, Kane's seemingly small fist, accompanied by a whooshing sound, swung at lightning speed into his abdomen like a cannonball.

The expected weakness and limpness did not occur; instead, a heart-wrenching pain shot through me!

Snow inwardly cried out in alarm, but fortunately, the experience he had accumulated over the years in the fighting arena came in handy at this moment, preventing him from collapsing to the ground on the spot due to the sudden pain.

But at this moment, the excruciating pain also temporarily rendered him unable to retaliate. At the same time, he instantly realized that this was the first move of Kronin's signature move, "Storm Combo"—the Wind-Breaking Fist.

Snow had barely recovered his senses and hadn't had time to react effectively when Kane gave him no chance to catch his breath. Kane leaped high into the air, his body tracing a clean arc, followed by a fierce flying kick aimed straight at Snow's chest.

Originally, this move was intended to target the head, but given that this was just a regular match, Kane deliberately adjusted the attack position.

Having had extensive experience fighting Cronin, Snow instinctively raised his arm to parry in a life-or-death moment.

With a muffled thud, Kane's kick landed squarely on his arm. Although his arm barely managed to block the fierce blow, Snow was already considering retreating.

Feeling the sharp pain in his arm, he couldn't help but curse inwardly: Where did this brat come from, pretending to be weak while actually being strong! With just these two moves, his strength is several times stronger than that of adults who have been trained for many years!

"Stop! I give up! Kronin, where did you find this perverted thing?" Snow shouted, panting heavily, while glaring resentfully at Kronin standing to the side.

"Hahaha, don't forget to reimburse me for my expenses these days." Kronin could no longer hold back his laughter, his lips curling up into a wide smile. He had been worried about money lately because his family hadn't been sending him any, but now that he was sleepy, someone had delivered a pillow to his head. Now he was finally in a good position.

Upon hearing this, Kane quickly regained his footing and landed smoothly. He knew that his opponent had underestimated him too much at the beginning, which was why he had suffered a great loss right from the start and had basically no chance to fight back afterward.

"Tch, don't worry, I'm a man of my word. I'll settle the bill for you in a bit." Snow rubbed his still throbbing arm, looked at Kane, his face still showing some dishevelment, but also a hint of admiration. "By the way, kid, my name is Snow. I'm impressed by those moves. What's your name?"

"My name is Kane, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Snow." Kane smiled and politely extended his hand.

Looking at the gentle, harmless blond boy in front of him, Snow found it hard to reconcile him with the ruthless, aggressive man who had just beaten him so badly that he was powerless to fight back.

"You're a true fighting genius! I've worked so hard for so many years to get to this level, and you're so amazing at such a young age!" Snow exclaimed sincerely, feeling a deep sense of awe. He had thought he was already exceptionally talented, but he never imagined there were always people more skilled than him.

"Of course, look who his apprentice is." Kronin chimed in at the opportune moment, his words full of smugness.

When I first met Kane, the boy looked to be only in elementary school age, small in stature, with a very innocent face. His first words were to ask if I could teach him fighting, and he said he would give me a generous reward.

Kronin initially dismissed it as a child causing trouble and mocked Kane quite a bit, but Kane offered so much that he reluctantly agreed to give it a try.

Who would have thought that when they actually started teaching him, they discovered that Kane was simply a natural-born fighter!

No matter what moves or techniques they are, they can be learned in no time, understood instantly, and mastered at an astonishing speed.

However, there was something strange about Kane that Kronin couldn't figure out.

Fighting training isn't just about learning how to hit someone; it's also about learning how to take a beating. After each training session, Kane is always covered in bruises, which is heartbreaking to see.

Surprisingly, when they met again the next day, Kane's injuries were completely healed, as if nothing had happened.

Although everyone has their own secrets, Kronin didn't pry.

As time went on, the two communicated more and more frequently. Kronin was completely impressed by Kane's talent and hard work, and officially took Kane as his apprentice, passing on his carefully created moves to him without reservation.

Kane also deeply respected his master who had taught him everything he knew, and the two got along very well.

Sure enough, Snow, having just met Kane, went to the training center front desk with a long face, clutching the betting agreement in his hand, and dejectedly went to settle the bill for Kronen.

Kronin was in high spirits and immediately pulled Kane aside, eager to teach him the final move.

Time flies, and more than half a month has passed in the blink of an eye.

During this period, Kane's growth rate in martial arts training was terrifying. Whether it was his ability to learn new moves or the improvement in his physical strength, Snow was dumbfounded and his jaw almost dropped.

"I'm done! I'm done! I give up!" Snow's voice rang out again. At this moment, his already battered spirit was shattered into pieces. "I really don't know what you ate to grow up like this. That punch you threw was like an adult swinging a sledgehammer!"

"You flatter me, Junior Brother Snow," Kane said with a smile, stopping his punches and kicks.

It turns out that Snow came here to prepare for a match and specifically sought out Kronen for advice. According to the rule of first come, first served, Kane had started earlier and thus became Snow's senior.

"I won't dare fight you again, I never get anything out of you!" Snow waved his hand, looking at Kane with a helpless expression.

"I don't think I'll be able to come here often after this." Kane frowned slightly, a hint of reluctance in his expression.

"What happened? What's wrong? If you're in trouble, just say the word, and I'll definitely help if I can!" Snow immediately became anxious upon hearing this. Over the time they had spent together, he had genuinely grown fond of Kane, and their bond was purely that of brothers.

"It's nothing, I just have to go to school."
