Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 69 Discussion in the Gryffindor Common Room
The two heard from Snape that Kane had given the seven Nimbuses to the Slytherin Quidditch team for two thousand.
Draco's eyes widened, and his mouth opened wide enough to fit an egg.
He looked at Kane in disbelief: "Kane, is this real? Seven Nimbus for two thousand? Are you crazy?"
His voice trembled with excitement as he pictured himself riding a brand-new broom on the field.
Marcus's previously arrogant face was now filled with shock.
He stammered, "Malfoy... no, Lord Kane, you really donated seven flying broomsticks? That's incredible!"
As he spoke, he kept rubbing his hands together, his eyes revealing his longing for the new broom.
"Of course it's true." Kane smiled slightly, secretly pleased with himself upon seeing their reactions.
"Marcus, take these brooms down and distribute them to your team." Snape couldn't stand Kane's pretentious act. "Kane, remember what you need to do tomorrow."
While chasing the group away, he didn't forget to remind Kane to help him deal with the potion tomorrow.
Marcus walked out the door carrying seven brand-new brooms.
Looking at the two of them, he swallowed hard, recalling his previous doubts about Draco and his disdain for Kane.
I instantly felt a burning sensation on my face.
He wanted to scratch his head, but the things in his hands made it impossible for him to free up one hand.
He could only say somewhat embarrassedly, "Young Master Kane, I was blind to your greatness before, please don't take it to heart. Because of your generosity, I'll do whatever you ask me to do in the team from now on."
Kane chuckled and retorted, "What? You think I'll make you lose just because I let you lose?"
Marcus remained silent. After all, Quidditch was his pride, and even a new broom couldn't make him betray his original passion.
"Alright, I'm not kidding anymore. Our Slytherin team, of course we need the best equipment!"
At this moment, Ron was strolling through the corridor with Neville.
Ron was just feeling a bit irritable.
This assignment was so difficult that he couldn't find anyone he could refer to for guidance.
Harry has already had a disagreement with him, and Harry is currently busy with Quidditch training.
Now, the only person he can rely on is Neville.
Just then, I spotted Marcus over there with several brand-new Nimbus 2000 brooms.
His eyes widened instantly.
Harry was already shocked when he received Professor McGonagall's gift today.
Now he sees seven guns appearing in his field of vision at the same time!
"Merlin's beard!" Ron's voice trembled as he grabbed Neville's sleeve. "Look what they're carrying! Seven Nimbus 2000s! A full seven!"
How many Galleons would that be?
That's enough to cover his family's living expenses for many years!
Neville followed Ron's trembling finger and gasped in shock.
Although others say he's a bit silly, that doesn't mean he doesn't understand the value of these things!
"Where did they get so much money?" Ron's voice trembled, somewhat incredulous.
"Isn't Kane quite wealthy? He had a whole trunk of Galleons the other day," Neville said somewhat casually.
After all, the Malfoy family's wealth was widely acknowledged.
Ron dragged Neville behind a pillar, his nails almost digging into Neville's arm.
The corridor outside Snape's office was usually gloomy, but now it was gleaming with the metallic sheen of the seven Nimbus 2000 brooms.
The broom's tail rustled as it swept across the stone wall, and looking at his tattered wizard's robe, Ron felt as if his pride was being whipped.
"Kane, are some of these brooms mine?"
Draco walked out of the office looking excited.
"Yours was custom-made; your name is engraved on the handle. Look for it."
Kane knew that Draco didn't like things that were exactly the same as other people's.
Ron, who overheard the conversation, learned that Kane had bought seven brooms.
They quickly took Neville back to the Gryffindor common room.
He was going to tell the Gryffindors about it.
Ron was standing in the center of the Gryffindor common room.
"Draco has joined Quidditch! And they have a full seven Nimbus 2000s!"
Clearly, many people were stunned by this news!
It's just as exciting as Harry joining Quidditch!
Then some people raised questions.
"Ron, you've lied far too many times already. How are you going to prove you're right this time?"
Ron was somewhat delighted at this moment, after all, what he said this time was true, and the key was that he had witnesses this time!
"Navy can vouch for me!"
So he pulled Neville up.
Neville, who was already a bit dim-witted, was pulled in front of the crowd.
"I...I...kiss..."
I saw those words with my own eyes, as if they were stuck in Neville's Adam's apple, bobbing up and down, while Rafe twisted wildly in his breast pocket.
This made everyone present suspicious of Ron.
Just like the story of the boy who cried wolf, if you do it once or twice, no one will believe you anymore.
That's the situation Ron is in now; the other students have already concluded that Ron is lying.
They all began to criticize Ron.
"You lie every time, you're a disgrace to the Weasley family."
"Exactly, compared to Percy and George Fred, they're really far behind."
"Seven Nimbus lights for two thousand? If they really exist, I'll eat this sofa!"
......
Ron panicked and urged Neville to prove his innocence.
Shaking the other person's body made Neville, who was already somewhat speechless, even more unable to speak.
This situation made things even more difficult for the two of them.
"What Ron said must be true."
Harry, who had just returned from learning the Quidditch rules from Wood, witnessed this scene.
"I saw Draco training at the Quidditch pitch with Wood."
Upon hearing Harry's explanation, everyone's attention shifted back to Harry.
This also gave Ron and Neville a sigh of relief.
"Yes, I saw Draco picking out brooms outside Snape's office, and Kane bought them all."
Neville finally spoke up to explain, which made everyone gasp.
Good heavens, how rich must they be to buy the most popular flying broomsticks for an entire team!
And it's unimaginable, given how powerful Slytherin already was.
With a brand new batch of brooms, they're sure to be unstoppable on the Quidditch pitch!
Just then, Percy walked in.
Seeing everyone's reactions and understanding what had happened, he also gasped.
"Alright, let's not discuss this anymore."
"Just because we have better equipment, does that mean we have to admit defeat outright?"
Hearing Percy lead the way, Ron mustered his courage and chimed in, "Draco joined the team too, most likely because he saw Harry playing Quidditch and, being vain, spent money to get Snape to join Slytherin's team!"
Upon hearing Ron's words, the Gryffindors suddenly felt more confident.
Their eyes were fixed on Harry, believing that the savior Harry would surely be able to save Gryffindor once again!
