Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 59 Madam Hodge's Invitation

"Your key keeper, Rupert Hagrid, mentioned you to me, Malfoy kid, didn't he?"

Ferenczek smiled and looked at Kane, his eyes seeming to hold a secret.

Kane knew in his heart that Hagrid, with his big mouth, probably didn't think much of him.

But thinking about it, it makes sense. With his signature blond hair, he's easily recognizable at school, and his twin status makes him even more noticeable. It's not surprising that Ferenczek recognized him.

"Harry, Draco, you two ride back to the castle on your brooms. I'll take Neville back."

Upon hearing this, the two immediately responded, quickly mounted their brooms, and flew towards the castle like two arrows released from a bow.

"Come on, little guy, get on my back first," Ferenz said gently to Neville, bowing his head.

After all that ordeal, Neville was still somewhat shaken.

But the series of shocks over the past two days have actually increased his resilience considerably.

He carefully climbed onto Ferenc's back and sat firmly.

At this moment, the usually arrogant Bane also slowly walked over, and then "plop" lowered his body.

Kane was secretly pleased. This old buddy of his, though tough on the outside, was actually quite loyal.

Without any hesitation, he hopped onto Bain's back, patted Bain's neck, and said, "Old Bain, let's go!"

They soon reached the edge of the forbidden forest.

"We'll leave you here; we won't go any further."

As he spoke, Ferenczer steadily put Neville down.

Kane was about to say goodbye when he suddenly remembered something.

"By the way, I recently heard that someone is eyeing unicorns, so you guys should be careful."

Upon hearing this, Lunze and Bain's expressions instantly turned serious.

Unicorns are sacred creatures in the Forbidden Forest, yet someone dares to plot against them.

After saying goodbye to the two centaurs, Kane, carrying a broom and supporting Neville, headed towards the castle.

Behind them, Bain watched the two figures disappear and couldn't help but say, "Ferenze, I believe you now. That kid is indeed extraordinary."

Ferenze looked serious; he was still pondering Kane's words: who could possibly have designs on the unicorn?

Kane and Neville have left the Forbidden Forest.

By now, the students of Hogwarts could be vaguely seen, with Harry and Draco at the very front.

One more?

Professor McGonagall's robes were flapping loudly in the wind, making her look like a ruffled owl.

After all, his students had violated school rules, and not just one, but four of them, who actually flew into the Forbidden Forest on broomsticks during flight class!

"Mr. Kane, and Mr. Longbottom! Your behavior is absolutely appalling!"

Professor McGonagall's voice was sharp and stern, echoing along the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

"Do you know how dangerous the Forbidden Forest is? It's full of unknown magical creatures and mysterious powers. A slight mistake could cost you your life! You've disregarded school rules and trespassed, which is a serious disruption to the school's order."

"Gryffindor and Slytherin, each lose ten points for your recklessness!"

"Professor, we..."

Harry and the others looked up, wanting to explain.

Professor McGonagall spoke again, her tone softening slightly as she changed the subject: "However..."

She paused for a moment, her gaze shifting between the boys.

"Upon learning that Neville was in danger, you did not hesitate at all and bravely went to rescue him. In the face of danger, you showed true courage and kindness."

At this moment, a hint of satisfaction flashed in Professor McGonagall's eyes. She cleared her throat and continued, "The three of you will each add 10 points to your respective colleges."

Draco and Harry's eyes widened instantly upon hearing this, filled with surprise and disbelief.

Kane remained calm, after all, Professor McGonagall was never a rule-abiding old fogey, otherwise she wouldn't have been sorted into Gryffindor.

"Kane, take Neville to get checked out. Harry, come with me."

Professor McGonagall gave the instructions methodically.

Kane knew that Professor McGonagall wanted Harry to become the Seeker for the Quidditch team.

Kane shrugged helplessly and helped Neville walk toward the school hospital.

This was the second time he had taken his classmate to the school hospital. He silently prayed that there wouldn't be a third time.

"Children, are you alright?"

Professor Hodge approached with a worried expression, his eyes fixed on Neville.

After all, this happened during her flight class, and she felt somewhat guilty.

Kane looked at Professor Hodge and couldn't help but think to himself, "What do you mean?"

In the original story, this professor didn't even manage to cast a simple levitation spell.

If Neville hadn't been lucky and had a few moments of cushioning during his fall, he probably would have died instantly.

The teaching staff at Hogwarts is like this: the Transfiguration professor can conjure a mouse into a twelve-layered court dress, while the Flying professor can't even cast a buffer spell properly, making it sound like a burp!

"It's alright, Professor." Neville, though still a little pale, forced a smile and said.

At this moment, Mrs. Hodge looked at Kane, her eyes lit up, and she lowered her voice and said.

"The way you three swooped into the Forbidden Forest was even more agile than the Irish team back in the day! Especially Mr. Malfoy's drift—you could join the Slytherin Quidditch team, I guarantee you could play for the national Quidditch team!"

Kane pulled a sizzling chocolate frog out of his pocket: "I'll have to talk to my family first, but they probably won't let me participate."

In truth, Kane knew that even if the Lucius couple agreed, he simply had no interest in Quidditch.

Lady Hodge seemed to see through Kane's thoughts, and a hint of regret flashed in her eyes.

"Kane, are you really not going to reconsider?"

Kane frowned slightly, thinking of a more tactful way to refuse again.

Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he reached out and gently twisted Neville's arm.

Caught off guard, Neville instinctively cried out, "Ouch!"

The sound seemed particularly jarring in this slightly noisy space.

Kane then said, "Mrs. Hooch, I'm so sorry, but look at Neville, he must be feeling unwell. I need to take him to the school hospital right away. I'll think about Quidditch later."

As he spoke, he helped Neville up and made a move to leave.

Although Lady Hooch was filled with regret, seeing Neville's slightly pale face, she did not insist on keeping him any longer.

He could only nod. "Alright, Kane, take Neville to get his wound treated first. Hopefully, he'll recover quickly. You're welcome to come to me anytime for Quidditch matters."

Kane thanked him and helped Neville walk quickly toward the school hospital.

Along the way, Neville muttered under his breath, "Kane, why did you twist me like that? It hurt so much."
