Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 4 has a slight impact.
"Alright, alright, kids, loosen your grip now, it's time to take the measurements properly."
Seeing Harry and Kane shaking hands and chatting happily, Madam Malkin hurriedly interrupted them, her eyes filled with anxiety, and her speech unconsciously quickening, "School starts soon, and there will definitely be a lot of young wizards coming to the shop in a while. I'll be so busy I won't have a moment to breathe."
Sure enough, just as they were about to start taking measurements, the shop door was pushed open, and several chattering little wizards walked in together.
Mrs. Malkin sighed helplessly and had no choice but to hurry out to greet them.
Fortunately, there were magic measuring tapes. They seemed to be imbued with intelligence, automatically moving over the children to measure them and accurately record various data.
"I said, Harry," Draco had already nimbly tried on the clothes, jumped off the bench, walked a few steps to Harry, tilted his head slightly, and looked at him with a hint of curiosity and expectation.
"Are you thinking you'll be sorted into Slytherin? You know, if I were sorted into Hufflepuff, I'd definitely drop out, and that's no joke."
As Draco spoke, he fiddled with the hem of his clothes, his eyes revealing a hint of arrogance and disdain.
Draco grew up listening to Harry's stories, and among the many theories about why Harry survived, one widely circulated view is that Harry was actually a powerful dark wizard.
After all, the fact that he had remained unharmed despite being away from the magical world for many years convinced many people of this.
Lucius Malfoy, that cunning and treacherous fellow, was a staunch supporter of this view.
In his view, if the Potter boy was indeed a more powerful advocate of pure-bloods, as rumored, then Lucius would once again have the opportunity to serve him and restore the family's glory.
Of course, under Kane's influence, some of Lucius's ideas also changed.
Draco, deeply influenced by his father's ideas since childhood, naturally imagined Harry as a mysterious and powerful dark wizard. However, the Harry standing in front of him now looked so ordinary, which inevitably disappointed Draco.
"Um... I'm sorry," Harry lowered his head slightly, a blush rising on his face, his eyes revealing a hint of embarrassment and confusion, "I don't really know what Slytherin is, I only know Hogwarts School."
He silently blamed himself for his ignorance, feeling like a clueless fool in front of these children who had grown up in a magical world. This feeling left him with a bitter taste in his mouth.
Kane stood aside, quietly watching Harry and Draco's interaction, when suddenly a thought flashed through his mind: what kind of chain reaction would it trigger if his words and actions influenced Harry's choice of house? And how would that affect the course of this timeline?
"Hogwarts has four houses: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff," Kane said, clearing his throat slightly and speaking earnestly.
"Each house has a unique meaning and will greatly shape a person's future. Slytherin symbolizes power and glory, where you have the opportunity to obtain everything you desire; Gryffindor represents fearless courage and a spirit of thrilling adventure..."
"Hmph! Gryffindor?" Before Kane could finish speaking, Draco scoffed disdainfully, his face clearly showing contempt, and rudely interrupted him, "They're full of a bunch of reckless, mindless lions who just charge around!"
Draco crossed his arms, his eyes filled with disdain for Gryffindor, his tone suggesting he knew the house inside and out and disdained any connection with it.
Harry stood quietly to the side, listening to their conversation without saying a word.
He felt his head was in a mess, as if countless voices were arguing, and all sorts of information about the academy flooded in, leaving him somewhat overwhelmed.
He knew that choosing a college was crucial to his future, but the more he thought about it, the more confused he became, constantly asking himself: Which college is right for me?
"Draco, have you taken the measurements for the clothes?"
The sound came from the direction of the door; Lucius and Narcissa had returned. Dobby was carrying two boxes behind them. Although they didn't look very big, they knew that there were quite a few books inside.
"Mom, Dad, we met Harry Potter! Harry Potter who defeated the Dark Lord! And we even became friends with him."
Upon hearing their voices, Draco excitedly introduced Harry to them.
Hearing Draco's words, Lucius seemed somewhat surprised, then widened his eyes and carefully examined the boy in front of him.
He was also curious about how this small boy had managed to defeat the arrogant Dark Lord.
Seemingly realizing that his father had been staring at him for too long, Draco tugged at Lucius's clothes, and only then did Lucius realize his rudeness.
"I am Lucius Malfoy, and this is my wife, Narcissa; it's a pleasure to meet you, Potter."
"If you have any problems at school, you can ask Draco or Kane. I'm sure they can help you. If you need anything, you can also ask them to come to me."
Lucius's polite words made Harry feel flattered, but he didn't know that Lucius was betting on him more than anything else.
A bet on the future Dark Lord.
"Thank you, sir," Harry said, thanking the seemingly polite Lucius.
Soon Mrs. Malkin came over with the prepared robe.
"Your clothes are all ready."
Just then, a giant hand opened the door, and a bearded man poked his head in. It was Hagrid, who had just returned from drinking at the Leaky Cauldron.
"Harry, are your clothes ready? We should go buy you your textbooks."
After saying that, Hagrid was a little stunned. How could it be this family!
"My friend is here to pick me up. I'll be going now. It was nice meeting you all."
Harry was also saying goodbye to a friend he had just met.
"Then see you at Hogwarts."
Kane waved to Harry, but he figured it wouldn't have much of an impact on Harry anyway; it was just a way to satisfy his own perverse sense of humor.
It would be quite amusing to think that I might cause the savior, arranged by the old bee, to come from Gryffindor to Slytherin.
Meanwhile, as Harry walked out of the shop, Hagrid grabbed him and asked him a question.
"Harry! What are you doing with the Malfoys?"
Harry was puzzled by what the other person said. In his opinion, their family was very friendly. It was just that Draco, like Dudley, who was probably a bit spoiled.
"I think they're really nice, and I've even become friends with them."
"Friends? You've actually become friends with the Malfoys? Don't you know they're all dark wizards?"
What? Harry's head was about to explode. This seemingly noble and elegant family were actually dark wizards?
In his mind, dark wizards were ugly monsters with pustules all over their faces, strange shapes, and no nose or eyebrows!
The refined and cultured Malfoy family had absolutely no connection to dark wizards!
"But they were very friendly to me, and they even told me that the school has four houses, such as Slytherin, Gryffindor, and Hagrid, which house are you in?"
Harry is still defending the Malfoys.
"I'm from Gryffindor! And our headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, the greatest headmaster Hogwarts has ever had, was also from Gryffindor, while Slytherin is full of dark wizards!"
"Okay, let me take you to buy textbooks first, we're running late!"
Hagrid knew he couldn't continue; if he did, he'd have to mention that man, the man whose very name instilled fear!
