Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 38 The Principals Arrive

"Think about your family. If your foolish actions implicate them, how can you live with yourself?"

As he spoke, Professor Old moved a little closer, the intense magical aura emanating from him forming an invisible net that tightly enveloped Ron, almost suffocating him.

"Now, I'll give you a chance to explain everything clearly. I can forgive and forget, and maybe even give you a chance to make amends. That's better than living in constant fear and being despised by others."

Ron's Adam's apple bobbed up and down, as if two little men were fiercely fighting inside him.

On the one hand, he was genuinely afraid of the professor's mysterious methods; that unknown power seemed to be able to see through his soul.

On the other hand, he was incredibly conflicted about whether to be honest, his pride pulling him in a frenzy.

Grindelwald seemed to read his mind, straightened up, crossed his arms, and coldly uttered a sentence.

"You'd better make a decision quickly. My patience is limited. Once I lose patience and investigate myself, the consequences will be more than you can handle."

A deathly silence fell over the auditorium, broken only by Ron's heavy breathing.

The young wizards around them witnessed this scene and couldn't help but tremble with fear.

They secretly wondered why this teacher looked so much like a dark wizard, with such a ruthless style of doing things.

Kane, standing to the side, now understood that the professor had been subtly influencing Ron with magic throughout the interrogation.

His gaze was fixed on Ron, and he thought to himself, "It seems that the other party is about to give in and is about to reveal the truth!"

Sure enough, a moment later, Ron deflated like a punctured balloon, his shoulders slumping.

Her voice trembled as she spoke, "I...I'll talk."

Professor Old raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes. He leaned down again, staring intently into Ron's eyes, signaling him to continue.

Ron tried to avoid the scorching gaze, but eventually gave up and lowered his head.

He stammered, "It was me, I admit... I spread some rumors about Hermione. I felt uneasy seeing her getting close to Kane. I thought she always liked to show off, and this time she must be trying to climb the social ladder by using Kane, so... I just went along with what others said."

As he spoke, his eyes reddened slightly, a mixture of regret for his actions and fear of the consequences he was about to face.

At this moment, the surrounding classmates, having heard Ron's confession, already understood the whole story.

They all looked at Hermione, their eyes filled with sympathy.

At this moment, Ron has already been blacklisted by everyone, and his image has plummeted.

Harry stood to the side, his face filled with disbelief. His best friend would actually do such a thing!

His thoughts drifted back to the train, Draco's sarcastic words echoing in his ears.

"You should be with people who can help you, not those who hold you back."

At that moment, Harry was filled with mixed feelings. He made a decision in his heart that he would never speak to Ron again, at least not for the time being.

Professor Old stood up straight, put his hands behind his back, tilted his head slightly, and spoke in a tone that revealed no emotion.

"Go on, tell us everything you know. Who started it, and who else was involved?"

Ron nodded hurriedly, his tone quickening: "It started with Lavender! She was muttering during break that Hermione and Slytherin getting together was bound to be bad news! I got carried away and started exaggerating."

"Later, some of Hermione's roommates joined in, and we started talking about it in the Great Hall. I... I really didn't expect it to escalate this much!"

"So these are the people from Gryffindor! Ah!"

Just then, an untimely shout rang out.

Kane saw his younger brother Draco trapped by the immobilization spell and looked pitiful, so he softened and lifted the spell.

But who would have thought that as soon as Draco regained his freedom, seeing that the situation seemed to be going smoothly for him, he started to become arrogant again.

Seeing this, Kane frowned and slapped Draco across the face without hesitation. Draco's screams echoed throughout the Great Hall.

The Gryffindors around Draco felt a burning sensation on their faces when they heard Draco's shout.

After all, many of them had unintentionally or intentionally participated in spreading these rumors today, and now that they had been exposed like this, a sense of shame welled up in their hearts.

Upon hearing Ron betray her, the girl standing nearby was filled with rage and threw a punch at him.

Kane looked at the two of them; he remembered that in the original story, this woman was Ron's first love.

It looks pretty good now. I sincerely wish them a "locked-in" relationship and that they don't go around hurting others.

It seemed the girl was a bit weaker, as Ron ignored the punch.

Instead, she looked at Alder with a pleading expression: "I know I was wrong, Professor. Please don't fire me. I don't want to implicate my family because of this. Please give me a chance."

Professor Old looked at him quietly and said, "You shouldn't apologize to me. Whoever you hurt should forgive you."

Ron froze, inwardly groaning.

I'm too ashamed to even talk to them now.

"The principal is here!"

At this moment, the young wizards who had been crowding around suddenly became restless and quickly made way for them.

Then Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walked over together.

The two looked around at the scene before them, their eyes filled with confusion, clearly not understanding what had happened.

Dumbledore's gaze fell on the distraught Ron, his brow furrowing slightly, a hint of anger flashing in his eyes.

He then looked up at Professor Old, his voice low yet full of authority.

"Shouldn't you give me an explanation? And shouldn't you be in your office?"

Dumbledore was truly enraged now. He had already shown the greatest tolerance by allowing the other party to work at the school, and now the other party was even using Legilimency on the students!

This was the first time the young wizards had ever seen their usually kind and gentle headmaster so angry.

Professor Alder smiled. "Dumbledore, you should thank me for resolving the conflict between those two young wizards. Without me, things would have escalated considerably!"

Upon hearing this, Dumbledore instantly calmed down, keenly sensing that something was amiss.

Given the other party's confident attitude, and the fact that he had some understanding of their purpose, he was quite certain.

He immediately guessed that this matter was probably related to Kane!

His gaze naturally shifted to Kane, only to discover that Kane was actually affectionately embracing Hermione, the little witch from Gryffindor.

Dumbledore thought to himself, "This guy really knows how to cause trouble."

"Kane, what's going on?" Dumbledore's tone was tinged with helplessness.

"Professor, today Ron and some Gryffindor students were spreading rumors about Hermione, and Professor Alder helped us clarify things! All the students around can testify to that!"

Upon hearing Kane's words, Dumbledore turned his gaze to the students around him.

They all nodded in agreement, indicating that it was indeed true.

Dumbledore felt utterly exhausted at this moment, and he secretly compared himself to others.

When Tom Riddle was in school, although he harbored malicious intentions, at least he didn't openly cause trouble in the auditorium like this.

However, it now seems that Kane will at least not become the next Voldemort.

Because he understands the power of "love" better than Tom.

His actions in protecting Hermione reveal a lot about this.

At this moment, Professor McGonagall stepped forward, looking at Ron and the other man with a gloomy expression.

Clearly, she was extremely unhappy, since the people involved were all students from her college.

"Those who spread rumors, come with me." Her voice was cold and firm, brooking no argument.

Ron was desperate to escape this place that made him feel so ashamed.

But as soon as he lifted his foot, a look of pain appeared on his face. "Professor, I..."

He pointed to his legs, indicating that he was still bound by the immobilization spell.

Seeing this, Kane quickly stepped forward, waved his wand to dispel the spells on the two, and said, "I'm sorry, Professor, I was just worried that he would run around and hurt someone."

Professor McGonagall glanced at Kane; what a kind child he was.
