Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 21 Kane's Prophecy!

In the early morning, the warm and soft sunlight shone through the stained glass and gently fell on Kane's bed, as if laying a golden veil over him.

Kane slowly woke up; his regular lifestyle over the years had always allowed him to get up early.

However, the wizarding curriculum is quite intensive. It must be said that although the teachers at Hogwarts are well paid, their workload is also astonishing, with one teacher in charge of students from four houses and seven classes!

Fortunately, these courses are usually taught together by two colleges, otherwise Kane suspects that no matter how advanced wizarding potions are, some teachers would still die suddenly!

This morning's class was Divination by Tree Branches, and it just so happened that Slytherin and Gryffindor were in the same class!

(I've really found a lot of trolls here. They've made it very clear that there's no Divination section in the original book, but there's definitely a reason I'm including it here. For those who want to read a book without Divination, I suggest you read the original book.)

Kane wasn't particularly interested in the course, but he did want to meet the prophet who had predicted two major events.

It was because of a prophecy that the story of Harry Potter came about.

The first class was held in the North Tower.

This is a strange classroom.

Or rather, it's not a classroom at all; it looks more like a mix of an attic and an old-fashioned teahouse.

Professor Trelawney was so thin, it seemed a gentle breeze could knock her over. Countless chains hung around her neck!

The way she paced on the podium made her look like a madwoman, completely lacking the composure a normal professor should have.

Kane sat in the audience, quietly observing his opponent, pondering to himself. If that person had lived in this great Eastern country in the 60s, they might already be beaten to death!

Kane's seat was positioned like the dividing line between the two houses!

To his left are Gryffindor students: Hermione, Harry, and Ron!

To his right were Slytherin's students, and closest to him was his younger brother, with his brother's henchman beside him.

"I see that chubby boy among you," Professor Trelawney suddenly stopped, pointing a thin, bony finger at a rather round boy in the back row of the classroom, "he will soon be breaking the bowl in his hand!"

These words immediately caused an uproar in the classroom!

The students' eyes all turned to the chubby boy who had been called out, their faces showing intriguing expressions.

Neville, whose name was mentioned, blushed instantly. He looked at the bowl in his hand with some unease, then glanced at the professor with anxiety, seemingly believing the professor's prediction. He gripped the bowl tightly in both hands.

"Tch, what a charade." Draco scoffed, instantly realizing that coming to Hogwarts was a terrible idea.

He's going to write to his dad tonight to see if he and his brother can transfer to another school, otherwise he'll go crazy here!

"Alright, quiet down! Now, everyone, start looking through the books in your hands, and then carefully feel the swaying of the branches in the bowl, the direction of their texture. Feel it with your heart, and tell me what you see."

Professor Trelawney raised her voice, trying to drown out the noise in the classroom.

Although the students were full of doubts and curiosity, they still did as instructed.

Harry and Ron frowned, their eyes fixed on the twigs in the bowl, as if trying to decipher some profound mystery, but all they could see were twigs.

Hermione, meanwhile, flipped through her book while stealing glances at Kane beside her every now and then, a hint of nervousness in her eyes.

She felt like she couldn't see anything at all! Did that mean she had no talent for divination? Or was it just that it takes time to figure it out?

Hermione wasn't sure what was going on either; she could only wait and see what Kane would see in a moment!

"Professor!" Kane raised his hand unhurriedly, attracting everyone's attention.

His face remained calm, revealing nothing of his inner thoughts.

Professor Trelawney stopped her erratic behavior and gestured for Kane to continue.

"I see misfortune about to befall us! It will bring darkness, fear, and disaster! It will also harm the red-haired people! But the hope of the world will drive away the misfortune!" Kane raised his head slightly, his gaze fixed intently on the twig in the bowl, his expression serious and solemn.

The way it looked as if it truly saw the future through the tree branches inspired awe.

The instant Kane finished speaking, a loud "Bang!!!" was heard.

Neville, who was originally extremely nervous, broke the bowl in his hand in two because he used too much force!

The water and twigs in the bowl spilled onto the ground instantly, forming a puddle that shimmered in the sunlight.

The entire student body fell silent!

Professor Trelawney's prediction has actually come true!

So, does that mean Kane's divination earlier was true? This thought flashed through everyone's minds simultaneously.

Immediately afterwards, everyone's attention turned to the only red-haired boy in the room.

Ron Weasley noticed that everyone's eyes were on him. He touched his hair, confirmed that he was red-haired, and forced a smile.

But that smile looked somewhat bitter. The corners of his mouth were slightly upturned, but they carried a hint of helplessness and worry. His eyes also revealed a trace of fear, as if he could already see misfortune beckoning to him.

"Redheads, maybe they're talking about Fred or George," Ron muttered to himself, trying to reassure himself, but his voice trembled slightly with nervousness, and even he himself didn't quite believe his own words.

No one responded to Ron's words, and the classroom remained eerily silent.

Professor Trelawney, on the other hand, looked at Kane with excitement, her eyes sparkling as if she had discovered a rising star about to shine.

"What a talented child! What's your name, kid?" Her voice, sharp with excitement, broke the silence of the classroom.

"Professor, I am Kane Malfoy," Kane replied calmly, his expression serene, as if the astonishing divination result was nothing more than a trivial matter to him.

"That's fantastic! I'm adding 10 points to Kane's academy!" After adding the points for Kane, Trelawney continued, "Did any other students predict anything?"

Seeing that Kane had already earned points for the academy, the other students were unwilling to fall behind and continued to bury their heads in the bowls in their hands, trying to figure out something!

Aside from Mr. Neville Longbottom, who was now hesitant about whether to ask the professor for another bowl, since the bowl he already had was broken!

But he was also afraid that the professor would scold him for accidentally breaking the bowl. He was conflicted and stood there nervously wringing his hands.

At this moment, everyone had no doubt about Kane's divination. After all, the professor's prediction had come true, and the professor had so generously given Kane extra points, which undoubtedly confirmed the correctness of Kane's prediction in everyone's minds.

Ron was a little worried, after all, the other party had said that he might get hurt, and even if it wasn't him, it was his brothers, so he was a little absent-minded for a moment.

Harry looked at his friend beside him with concern and comforted him, "Don't worry, maybe Kane can break the prophecy? We can go ask him after class."

Ron hesitated slightly upon hearing Harry's words. He wondered if it was appropriate for him to ask Kane for help now, given their past conflict.

The thought of this made his face burn, as if he had been slapped in public, and he felt embarrassed and conflicted.

Hermione leaned closer to Kane and stared at the twig in his bowl. Strange, it's not much different from the one in my bowl.

"How did you do that?" Hermione asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and inquiry, eager to know the answer.

Hearing Hermione's question, Draco also looked up. He was equally curious about how his brother had done it, and he didn't want to fall behind this Muggle-born little witch; that would be a disgrace to their family.

"Sometimes, exams are about the result, not the process, you understand?"

Kane turned his head slightly and explained softly to the two people beside him.

His lips curled up slightly, revealing a mysterious smile, and his eyes held a hint of cunning.

However, he knew in his heart that his result was absolutely correct.

The so-called misfortune refers to Voldemort, doesn't it? And Voldemort did indeed bring endless disasters to the entire wizarding world.

As for Ron, he was indeed injured in the later Wizard Chess match.

Harry, the "boy who survived" on whom everyone placed high hopes, drove away Voldemort time and time again, becoming the beacon of hope for saving the world.
