Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 185 Visiting
"We'll tell him about his upcoming prison sentence."
Kay felt no sympathy for Fudge.
A greedy traitor deserves no good end.
"But you've really given me a lot of trouble. I'm in for a lot of nagging from now on."
Dumbledore blinked.
Kane knew what the other person meant.
Once Fudge steps down, many people will become interested in this position.
The person who has the most decisive power in this position is the person next to you.
Therefore, the headmaster's office at Hogwarts will definitely be visited by many people in the future.
"That means you're not old yet."
Kane said with a smile.
Dumbledore looked at the two young wizards in front of him.
He deliberately gave a wink.
"I still prefer your age, you're so youthful and energetic, and you can still do things we can't."
Dumbledore is indeed unreliable.
Kane silently complained to himself.
"Then I'll head back to England first, since things there can't do without me. Nick, you should also get some rest during this time. If you have nothing to do, you can go out and relax with your new friends."
Dumbledore then left.
Lucius then approached with Narcissa and Draco.
After giving a few words of advice, he left Draco behind.
"Draco, you'll stay with Kane for now. The situation over there is complicated, and we don't have time to go back."
After saying that, he teleported away with Narcissa.
Only Draco remained, pretending to adjust his cuffs.
Kane glanced at his younger brother.
"What's wrong? Father's not here, and you've forgotten how to speak?"
Draco looked up, his eyes slightly moist.
Something obviously just happened.
"No, then where do we go next?"
Draco has no choice but to comply.
You should know that his father had just scolded him.
If it weren't for her brother, she wouldn't know where she would have been sold off to.
"Since you're staying here for a while, I'd like to invite you to visit the Delacour Estate."
Fleur's gaze swept between the two brothers, finally settling on Kane.
She really hoped the other party would agree.
"Dracule Estate?"
Draco countered with a question.
Hibiscus smiled slightly, which captivated Draco.
"What, are you afraid I'll sell you off, young master of the Malfoy family?"
Kane gently pressed down on Draco's shoulder.
He awakened his younger brother from the other person's allure.
"Of course, we are honored."
The Château de la Courseau is situated on the edge of a magical forest in southern France.
The manor's architectural style blends classic French elegance with the natural magic of the Veela race.
Tall rose vines twined around the ivory-white stone pillars.
Gabrielle Delacour stood on the porch.
Holding a snow-white cat in her arms, she tilted her head and sized up Draco.
Her eyes were brighter than Hibiscus's, carrying an innocent yet cunning curiosity.
"You're Draco Malfoy?"
Her French accent was soft, but her English was exceptionally fluent.
Draco slightly raised his chin: "Yes."
Gabrielle blinked, then suddenly smiled: "You're a little shorter than I thought."
Draco's expression froze instantly.
Kane chuckled softly to himself, forgetting that he and his brother were not much different in height.
Hibiscus pretended not to hear and gracefully led them into the manor.
The dinner was held in the open-air courtyard.
The long table was laden with exquisite dishes from the French magical world.
Pan-fried pork ribs that slice themselves;
Creamy mushroom soup that floats and spins in the air; and magical desserts that constantly change color.
Draco stared at the plate of dancing chocolate frogs in front of him, his expression a mix of disgust and curiosity.
Lady Delacour—a witch of noble bearing, whose every gesture exuded the charm of a Veela—smiled and raised her glass: "Welcome, young men of the Malfoy family."
Kane politely raised his glass in response, while Draco awkwardly mimicked his gesture.
"I heard that your Minister of Magic in England has recently run into some trouble?"
Madame de la Cour's tone was gentle, but her eyes held a scrutinizing gaze.
Kane smiled slightly: "It's just a political game, madam."
Fleur gently swirled the red wine in her glass, then suddenly interjected, "Kane, I've heard you're quite knowledgeable about ancient magical contracts?"
Draco keenly sensed the shift in the topic and his gaze swept back and forth between the two men.
Kane tapped his fingers lightly on the rim of the glass: "I know a little bit."
Hibiscus's smile deepened: "Then perhaps you would be interested in some... special documents in our family library."
After the dinner, Hibiscus used the excuse of showing Kane around the library.
Draco, on the other hand, is entangled with Gabrielle and forced to listen to her tell him amusing stories about Beauxbatons.
The Delacour family's library is older than that of Malfoy Manor.
The bookshelves were filled with books bound with dragon skin, snake scales, and even mermaid skin.
The air was filled with the scent of parchment mixed with magic potions.
The flame on the candlestick had a pale blue hue, as if it were influenced by some kind of magic.
Hibiscus stopped in front of a tall bookshelf inlaid with silver runes, her fingertips lightly tracing the surface of a thick book with an obsidian cover.
"Helpo's Bloodline Contract," she murmured the title, turning to Kane. "You know this book is banned by the British Ministry of Magic."
Halberd, wasn't he the first wizard to breed a basilisk or even successfully create a Horcrux?
A flicker of interest crossed Kane's eyes: "And yet you have a copy in your collection."
Hibiscus chuckled lightly: "The Delacour family has some... special connections."
She slowly turned the pages, and Kane's eyes were immediately drawn to one of the illustrations.
A gigantic serpentine creature coiled around the tower of an ancient castle, its eyes flashing with an eerie green light.
"The Chamber of Secrets of Slytherin," Kane murmured.
This book actually records these things.
Furong's finger stopped on a certain page.
There was a passage there, deliberately obscured by ink: "Interestingly, this book mentions that the Chamber of Secrets is not unique to Hogwarts."
Kane looked up at her: "What do you mean?"
A mysterious smile played on Fleur's lips: "Similar legends have circulated in the French magical world, except... what's locked in our 'secret chamber' is far more dangerous than the basilisk."
...
When Kane returned to the courtyard, he found Draco standing by the fountain, his face grim.
Gabrielle has disappeared.
"What's wrong? Did a little girl bully you?" Kane teased.
Draco sneered, "She asked me if I knew what 'real dark magic' was."
Kane raised an eyebrow: "What was your answer?"
"I told her that the Malfoy family's dark magic library was more than all the hairs on her family's heads combined."
Draco's tone was laced with disdain.
