Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 175 Dumbledore's Letter

After Kane returned home, he rested well for a few days.

Lucius has been grinning from ear to ear these days.

Slytherin House Cup, first in the entire year, Quidditch Champion...

Her two children are quite outstanding.

This allowed him to steal the spotlight from those purebloods.

Draco excitedly ran up to Kane.

"Kane! Father said we could go on vacation to France! And guess what? Fudge actually invited the whole family there!"

Kane raised an eyebrow slightly: "I thought you were more interested in Quidditch."

However, Kane always felt that Fudge wouldn't be so kind.

Last time, because of Sirius, they had a very bad falling out with Fudge.

Draco curled his lip. "I heard that's a wizarding paradise!"

At that moment, Lucius walked over and interrupted their conversation.

"Kane, Dumbledore sent a letter today."

Kane's gaze sharpened instantly: "What did he say?"

Lucius pulled a parchment with gold-embossed edges from his sleeve.

Kane took the letter, the moment his fingertips touched the parchment.

A faint fluctuation of magic emanated from it—some kind of identification magic left behind by Dumbledore, ensuring that only he could read it.

The letter contained only one line:

"Tomorrow at 10 a.m., I'm taking you to meet an old friend. Dress formally."

"What did Dumbledore say?" Lucius asked cautiously.

Narcissa gracefully set down her teacup, her brow furrowing slightly. "A letter from Albus Dumbledore to Kane? He's rarely contacted me since our last collaboration."

Draco's eyes widened as he looked back and forth between his parents and brother. "Wait, you guys worked with Dumbledore? When?"

Lucius didn't answer his son's question directly, but instead looked intently at Kane: "What did the letter say?"

He said he would take me to meet someone.

"are you going?"

Lucius is asking Kane for his opinion.

"I'm going."

Kane's voice was firm.

Lucius looked at his child, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

After a moment of silence, he nodded slightly: "Okay."

This simple word contains respect for the son's decision.

"However," Lucius added, his tone becoming serious.

"We must remain vigilant at all times. Although, given Dumbledore's stature, it's unlikely he would do anything to a mere junior wizard..."

"But what that old man was best at was getting people to act according to his plans without them even realizing it."

Kane smiled slightly. "I'll remember that."

Draco, listening nearby, was dumbfounded: "Wait, that's it? You just let Kane and Dumbledore leave so easily? Don't you know, Dumbledore's mental state was very strange at school?"

Draco didn't understand Kane's actions at all.

At school, he always felt that he was one of the most abnormal people in the entire school.

Dumbledore may not be number one, but he's definitely in the top three!

Lucius turned to his youngest son, his tone instructional: "Draco, that's Dumbledore in your eyes, but that's just a way he uses to deceive you."

The next morning, the doorbell rang at Malfoy Manor.

Dobby is wiping the crystal chandelier in the foyer.

Upon hearing the bell, immediately put down what you are doing.

He straightened the neatly ironed tea towel on his body, straightened his back, and walked towards the door.

As a house-elf of the Malfoy family, Dobby is well-versed in the etiquette of receiving guests.

"Good morning, sir." Dobby opened the heavy oak door with the most standard posture.

Upon seeing the visitor at the door, his large, tennis ball-sized eyes lit up instantly. "Ah! It's Headmaster Dumbledore! Dobby greets you!"

The old wizard's long, silvery-white beard gleamed faintly in the morning light.

A gentle smile flickered in his blue eyes behind his half-moon spectacles: "Good morning, Dobby. Your tea towel looks very nice."

Dobby's ears perked up with excitement.

Upon hearing Dumbledore's praise, Dobby proudly puffed out his chest: "This is the uniform that Young Master Kane prepared for Dobby! Dobby has two sets!"

Then the little elf led the way with light steps.

He would occasionally turn around to check if the distinguished guest was keeping up.

"Dobby must say," the little elf said in a low voice, his tone full of reverence, "that even though it's the holidays, young master Kane is diligently studying those spells every day."

A knowing glint flashed in Dumbledore's eyes: "Thank you for telling me this, Dobby. Mr. Kane has always been an excellent student."

When they arrived at the restaurant entrance.

Dobby bowed respectfully: "Headmaster Dumbledore has come to visit, Master."

Lucius Malfoy had already risen to greet him.

"Albus, surprisingly punctual."

"Ah, Lucius," Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Thank you for allowing me to borrow Kane for a few days."

Lucius's lips twitched slightly: "It seems I have no choice."

Dumbledore pretended not to hear, his gaze passing over him and landing on Kane: "Ready, Kane?"

Kane was wearing a dark green travel cloak.

The snake pattern embroidered with silver thread shimmered faintly in the sunlight.

He nodded without asking any further questions.

Lucius said coldly, "I hope you can explain where you're taking him."

Dumbledore blinked. "Oh, just going to see an old friend, to chat about alchemy... or perhaps have a cup of tea?"

Lucius's expression froze.

Alchemy?

Could it be?

As Dumbledore led Kane through the rose garden of Malfoy Manor.

The morning dew was still glistening on the petals.

"Don't we need to teleport?"

Kane asked curiously.

"No, we'll use this."

The old headmaster took out a sapphire-encrusted pocket watch from his pocket and gently pressed the crown.

"Nicole moved back to England last year. Or rather, the magical barrier in Devon is a better hiding place than anywhere else."

Suddenly, the pocket watch projected a blue light screen.

Intricate spatial runes were drawn in the air.

Kane keenly noticed that these runes were subtly different from the standard Portkey incantations he had seen in "Higher Spatial Magic".

"A modified door key?"

Kane reached out and touched the light screen, feeling a silky flow of magic through his fingertips.

Dumbledore nodded approvingly: "Nicole's masterpiece. Ordinary Portkeys would leave a record at the Ministry of Magic, but this..."

The light barrier suddenly expanded, enveloping the two of them, "but nothing can be detected."

The world twisted in an instant.

When Kane opened his eyes again, he was greeted by the fragrance of lavender and the warm Mediterranean sunshine.

They stood on a hillside surrounded by ancient olive trees, with rolling fields of purple flowers in the distance.

"I thought you were going to take me to find the Horcrux yesterday." Kane brushed the dust off his sleeve.

His tone was as calm as if he were discussing the weather.

Dumbledore paused slightly. "You are more perceptive than I thought."
