Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 16 Sorting House: Slytherin!

The entire audience was immediately filled with shock and confusion. What was going on?

The Sorting Hat is just a hat, so why would anyone suggest washing its hair?

The crowd exchanged bewildered glances, their eyes filled with disbelief, whispering amongst themselves as they tried to guess Kane's intentions.

Snape, sitting on the professor's bench, was speechless. That was exactly what Kane had told him back then, and then he forcibly washed his hair!

"You little brat!" The Sorting Hat, which had been lifeless, bent slightly, as if to express its emotions. "But I must admit, although I really want to try what it feels like to wash my hair, I've never had such an experience before."

Its voice rang in everyone's ears, carrying a hint of novelty and excitement, leaving the already astonished students even more dumbfounded.

"Then you can try this Malfoy brand shampoo!"

As if by magic, Kane produced a bottle of shampoo from nowhere, with the words "Dandruff Removal, Oil Control, Fresh Fragrance Every Day!" prominently displayed on the bottle.

Under the astonished gazes of everyone, Kane skillfully sprayed shampoo onto the dark black hat of the Sorting Hat.

For a moment, the milky white liquid stood out starkly against the black background, creating a peculiar and absurd contrast with the solemn Sorting Ceremony.

"The spring water is as clear as water!"

Then a small trickle of water flowed down Kane's wand. The milky white liquid began to bubble, seep, spread, and dissipate upon contact with the water.

At this moment, almost everyone thought Kane had gone mad. Their eyes were filled with confusion and incomprehension, as if they were looking at an incomprehensible freak.

However, the Weasley twins of Gryffindor were quite different.

Their eyes met, sparkling with excitement and unspoken understanding, as if they were exchanging a silent message: "How come you didn't think of such a brilliant prank?"

Their expressions clearly showed admiration and respect for Kane's actions; it seemed that in their eyes, it was a unique and creative performance.

Professor McGonagall was also embarrassed at this moment, seemingly hesitant about whether she should put down the Sorting Hat, since some white foam had also ended up in her hands.

However, Kane didn't dwell on it for long and quickly finished everything. The Sorting Hat was now brand new, and all the dust on it had disappeared.

"Achoo!"

The Sorting Hat suddenly sneezed loudly, the sound particularly abrupt in the silent Great Hall.

Then, it sniffed its hat brim hard with its invisible nose and let out a satisfied sigh: "Smells so good..."

This scene made Professor Snape, who was sitting to the side, unconsciously raise his hand and scratch his smooth hair.

A hint of doubt and curiosity flickered in his eyes as he wondered to himself: Is this shampoo really that fragrant?

"Alright, Professor McGonagall, you can sort your houses now!"

Having done all this, Kane was satisfied and sat down on the stool next to the Sorting Hat.

Seeing this, Professor McGonagall shook her head slightly, a helpless smile on her face.

She stepped forward and placed the Sorting Hat firmly on Kane's head.

"Kid, thanks for washing my hair!" The Sorting Hat's voice rang in Kane's ears. "I've had enough of those little wizards' filthy hair all these years. I've smelled that stench for years."

Now, let me see which college is right for you!

Kane used Occlumency the moment the opponent landed.

He knew that the Sorting Hat would examine students’ minds during the sorting process, making decisions by reading their qualities and personal desires.

Although he was not clear about the specific extent of the exploration, he decided to hide some of his memories and emotions as a precaution, and cleverly let the Sorting Hat read the content he had set in advance.

Unsurprisingly, just as everyone expected, the Sorting Hat shrieked almost the instant it touched Kane's hair: "Another Malfoy! Arrogant! Powerful! Confident! No doubt, a Slytherin!"

The Sorting Hat's scream echoed through the Great Hall, followed by a muttered cry: "I've never seen such a kind Malfoy!"

Upon hearing the sorting results, Kane's lips curled into a slight, elegant smile.

He stood up slowly and gracefully, walking toward the Slytherin table.

Along the way, the Slytherin students applauded and welcomed them, their faces beaming with friendly smiles, as if they were welcoming a long-lost relative.

Draco was also cheering enthusiastically!

"I knew it! Kane, you must be a Slytherin!"

At the Gryffindor long table, Hermione, Neville, and Harry were all applauding each other, and even Ron, who was standing to the side, was a little excited!

His excitement was different from others; in his heart, he firmly believed that the Malfoy family were all evil.

Now, seeing Kane sorted into Slytherin, he was even more convinced of his judgment, considering it a natural outcome, and even felt a faint sense of pride, as if to say, "See? I knew he was a thoroughly wicked fellow!"

Ron wasn't the only one with this thought; his brother Percy felt the same way, still unable to forget how he had been disarmed by a freshman.

Seeing with his own eyes that Kane hadn't been sorted into Gryffindor, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, thinking to himself: Now I don't have to worry about that kid losing Gryffindor points.

I must find a chance to teach him a lesson later and let him know the consequences of offending him, Percy Weasley!

At the headmaster's desk, Headmaster Dumbledore sat quietly, his deep gaze fixed on Kane through his half-moon spectacles.

His eyes were unfathomable, their meaning impossible to fathom.

Kane noticed the gaze, slightly raised his head, and met Dumbledore's eyes. The usually stern and aloof old man now wore a kind smile, gently raising his cup in a gesture of respect to Kane.

Kane also noticed the gaze and looked up to meet the other person's eyes.

The previously icy old man also smiled and raised his cup to the other person.

Does this mean he's realized I'm not part of his plans?

He was well aware of Dumbledore's influence at Hogwarts and knew that many of his actions at the school would likely not escape the old man's notice.

However, judging from the current situation, Dumbledore's attitude is quite friendly, which has temporarily put Kane's worries at ease.

At this point, with the last student sorted into Slytherin, Professor McGonagall put away the parchment in her hand, took the Sorting Hat, and left.

As they were leaving, the division cap was still shouting.

"Long live shampoo!"

This can be considered a death sentence for Malfoy shampoo!

Headmaster Albus Dumbledore stood up, smiled broadly at the students, and opened his arms to welcome them.

"Welcome! Welcome everyone to Hogwarts for the start of a new school year! Before the feast, I'd like to say a few words. These are: Idiot! Crybaby! Trash! Twist!"

Thank you everyone!

Then he sat down. The students below erupted in applause and cheers! Even though no one understood what he was saying, they all knew he was the world's most outstanding wizard!

"Sure enough, this old man is crazy!"

Draco, listening to the other person's completely incomprehensible words, complained in Kane's ear, but his voice was heard by everyone in the circle.

"Exactly! If you ask me, Hogwarts was corrupted by this old man!"

Everyone else agreed with Draco's attitude!

Draco also struck up a conversation with the students because they shared his views.

Suddenly, a sumptuous feast appeared out of thin air on their plates, a feast for the eyes, nose, and palate.

After a long and tiring day, the young wizards were starving. When they saw the delicious food in front of them, their eyes lit up and their mouths watered.

For a moment, everyone was drawn to the delicious food, and the originally noisy discussions gradually disappeared, leaving only the clinking of cutlery and the sounds of chewing food in the auditorium.

Kane also began to enjoy his dinner, and he had to admit that the house-elves at Hogwarts were excellent cooks, and the food they made tasted superb.

He thought to himself: If these foods were taken to the Muggle world and used to open a hotel, they would definitely be a hit.

Finally, the pudding on the table disappeared, and Professor Dumbledore stood up again.

The auditorium fell silent once more.

"Now that everyone has eaten and drunk their fill, I have a few more words to say. As the semester begins, I have a few things to note!" Professor Dumbledore's voice echoed in the Great Hall, clear and powerful. "First-year students, please note that the wooded area on the school grounds is off-limits to all students. Some of our older students should also take note of this."

As Dumbledore said this, his bright eyes swept toward the Weasley twins, a hint of warning and amusement in them.

......

However, when Dumbledore mentioned these precautions, there was always a sense that he was encouraging Gryffindor to take risks.

This puzzled Terence Higgs, who was sitting next to Draco at the Slytherin table.

Because they shared a passion for Quidditch, he and Draco hit it off immediately.

At this moment, he leaned closer to Draco and whispered, "In the past, when the headmaster forbade us to go to a place, he would always explain why, such as that there were many dangerous beasts in the Forbidden Forest. But I don't know why he didn't say anything this time."
