Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 114 Charlie's Letter
Because of a match, Harry Potter became a hero again! He became the pride of Gryffindor.
The cheers from the Gryffindor Tower lasted for quite some time.
But Harry has been quite depressed these days.
Now, sitting alone in the canopy of his four-poster bed, his fingers unconsciously stroking the tattered "Basic Potion Improvement Notebook".
The moonlight outside the window stretched his shadow long, casting it on the wall like a hesitant silhouette.
"Aren't you going out and have some fun? The lounge is quite lively!"
Ron's head suddenly popped in from outside the curtain, his face still covered in butterbeer foam. "Wood said he'd make you a life-size chocolate statue!"
Harry forced a smile: "You guys play, I'm studying."
Once Ron's footsteps fade into the distance, Harry will remember what happened that day.
"This doesn't make sense..." Harry muttered to himself.
When he went to the broom shed to return his broom after winning against Hufflepuff that day.
He witnessed Snape threatening Quirrell in the Forbidden Forest and heard that cold "You don't want me to do it again, do you?"
"You need to understand your position carefully! And decide whom you are loyal to!"
......
The other party's tough attitude made it hard for him not to suspect that the other party was an evil dark wizard!
Kane insisted that Snape was protecting him, and Hagrid even swore that "Snape would never harm a student."
The most contradictory thing is, how could Professor Quirrell, who destroyed Voldemort's items in the dream, be a bad person...?
Suddenly, a clattering sound came from outside the window. Hagway was tapping on the glass with her beak, a bulging leather bag strapped to her leg.
Harry immediately opened the window; it was a letter from Charlie.
"Ron! Come back quickly!"
Harry flung open the curtains and shouted toward the door.
His voice carried an undisguised excitement and a hint of relief.
Ron stumbled back to his dorm, clutching half a cream cake in his hand: "What happened? Did Charlie reply?"
Harry had already removed the leather pouch from Hedwig's leg and poured out a thick parchment letter and several documents stamped with the Ministry of Magic's seal.
When Ron leaned in, some cream got on Harry's pajamas, but neither of them cared.
"Dear Ron and Harry,"
Harry read aloud, his voice trembling slightly with excitement, "About the 'wild Norwegian Spinosaurus discovered in the Forbidden Forest' you mentioned—"
Ron made a face: "Looks like he really believed our lie."
"—I'm amazed you managed to contact the owner of the dragon farm in Romania! That's incredibly lucky!" Harry continued reading. "Mr. Kane Malfoy is not only the owner of the dragon farm, but also the youngest board member of the International Society for the Protection of Magical Creatures. He has already obtained all the necessary permits for this dragon, including the Rare Dragon Breeding License and the Cross-Border Transportation Permit..."
Ron's eyes widened to the size of Galleons: "Wait, the Malfoy kid is the owner of a dragon farm? And he's only a first-year student!"
Harry quickly skimmed the rest of the text: "Without these legal documents, I'd have to risk smuggling it back to Romania, which is far too risky..."
"Merlin's beard!" Ron gasped. "We almost made Charlie a smuggler!"
The two hurriedly flipped to the last paragraph of the letter: "I will arrive at Hogwarts this Saturday at three o'clock in the afternoon with a professional team. Please tell Hagrid to prepare, as we need to cast a calming spell on the young dragon before transporting it. Also, enclosed is the dragon growth nutrient formula provided by Mr. Kane; tell Hagrid to stop feeding it brandy."
"Saturday?" Ron suddenly froze, grabbing the calendar from the bedside table. "What day is it today?"
Harry looked out the window—the moonlight was already setting in the west, and the clock tower in the distance showed nine o'clock in the evening.
"Saturday afternoon..." Harry's voice was as soft as a feather falling, "That means... tomorrow afternoon?"
Ron suddenly jumped up and began frantically searching through his socks: "We have to tell Hagrid right now!"
Norber's been growing faster than a troll lately; Hagrid said last night it burned through his new boots!
Harry stopped the other person.
"It's not too late to go tomorrow morning, in case we get caught again for a night out..."
Harry didn't continue. Once is enough; if it happens again, it'll be really over.
For some reason, Professor McGonagall hasn't arranged any confinement for them these days.
But Harry is certain that Professor McGonagall has not forgotten.
While Harry and Ron were still struggling in their dormitory, deep within Slytherin's crypt, in Kane's dormitory...
Kane Malfoy was reading a newly delivered letter by candlelight.
The silvery-green fire cast flickering light on his pale face, highlighting the slight upturn of his lips.
"Do you know what to do, Draco?"
Kane called out without looking up, tapping Charlie Weasley's signature on the letter.
"Is it news about the dragon farm? Did Father agree?"
"Charlie Weasley will arrive at 3 p.m. tomorrow."
Kane tossed the letter into the fireplace, watching it be consumed by the silvery-green flames. "You're in charge of receiving guests."
Draco's expression was as if he'd been fed Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and a Chocolate Frog at the same time—shock, ecstasy, and confusion flashed by in quick succession: "Me? But he's from the Weasley family! And—"
That's exactly why.
Kane took out a silver brooch from the carved wooden box, engraved with the Malfoy family crest. "You will accompany the international dragon taming experts to complete this handover as the 'Young Master of the Malfoy Dragon Farm'."
Draco's fingers trembled slightly as he took the brooch, his grey eyes gleaming with an unprecedented light: "Father will be unhappy... I mean, if I mess it up..."
"My father is currently attending the International Federation of Wizards in Austria."
Kane pulled a scroll of official documents bearing the seal of the Ministry of Magic from his sleeve. "This is a letter of authorization he sent by owl, specifically mentioning his wish for 'Draco to begin participating in the management of the family business.'"
Draco suddenly froze: "Wait... what about you? Shouldn't you be the one to inherit—"
"You really want me to do everything?" Kane flicked the other's head. "You're going to relieve some of the pressure on us. Now, remember tomorrow's plan: you lead them into the venue, and they must wear the badges I gave you the entire time. If they encounter reporters or anything like that..."
"I'll do my best!"
Draco eagerly chimed in, like a child who had just received a new toy.
Kane didn't continue, but simply shoved a copy of "The Young Dragon's Care Manual" into Draco's arms: "Memorize the Tranquility Charm section of Chapter Seven tonight. Remember, tomorrow you'll be representing the Malfoy family."
"Don't worry too much, someone will help you tomorrow."
After Draco left happily with the book, Kane turned to the small cage to the side.
The rat in the cage had eyes filled with fear and blankness!
