"no."

Kam's face darkened considerably upon hearing Gu Heng's firm refusal.

The two insects stared at each other, locked in a stalemate.

In the end, Kam was the first to be defeated.

He already knew that Gu Heng was a stubborn man, and if he really didn't agree to the male's request, he might really refuse to go to the toilet.

If they really cause something bad to happen to the male insects, how will they explain it to their leader?

Cam warned, "Don't try to run away."

Gu Heng spread his hands innocently, "With so many of you bugs, I can't escape either."

Although Kam and the others did not restrict his freedom, Gu Heng discovered that the personal terminal in his hand was gone.

They must have taken it.

Gu Heng also had a metal ring on his ankle, which probably wasn't anything good.

After hearing Gu Heng's words, Kam snorted coldly, "It's good that you know."

"We've placed a mental energy restriction ring on you, so you can't use your mental energy at all right now. Besides, you're surrounded by our insects, so even if you try to escape, you won't get far."

Gu Heng paused in his steps, saying that it was impossible for these insects to be left unattended.

So that's where he was waiting.

Gu Heng's expression turned cold.

Upon arriving at the location, Gu Heng stared blankly at the two insects still staring at him.

"Aren't you leaving yet? Are you even keeping an eye on this?"

Cam snorted, noncommittal. "What else? What if you run away when we're not looking?"

"Weren't you just saying so confidently that I couldn't escape? What are you afraid of now?"

"Don't provoke me, there's no room for negotiation on this matter." Kam didn't go along with Gu Heng's words.

One minute, two minutes, three minutes...

Gu Heng remained motionless.

"Hurry up!" Kam urged impatiently.

"Seriously, aren't you ashamed to stare at a male insect using the toilet?"

Kam remained unmoved.

"I have a habit that there can't be any bugs around me when I go to the toilet."

Kam's temples were throbbing with rage. Seeing that Gu Heng was still dawdling, he was really annoyed. "Fine, fine, let's go, okay?"

"You'd better not do anything pointless."

Kam and the others had indeed gone far away, but Gu Heng's brow remained furrowed.

"When you turn your back to me and stare at me, I don't feel anything."

Kam's face darkened. Why did this male insect cause so much trouble?

The two insects turned around.

"Why is it so slow?"

When Gu Heng reappeared in Kam's sight, he asked.

Gu Heng glanced at him indifferently, without answering.

Kam couldn't do anything about it.

He's the ancestor, okay?

Gu Heng followed slowly behind, looking nothing like a prisoner. Kam and the other man in front of him seemed to be leading the way for Gu Heng.

Along the way, Gu Heng saw no fewer than two patrol teams, each insect carrying a light-energy gun on its waist.

This place is nestled against the mountains and is quite remote; as far as the eye can see, it's all grass and trees.

It looked just like a scene of an abandoned building located deep in the mountains and forests.

Gu Heng strongly suspected that this was a stronghold of the southern tribes in the empire.

Gu Heng behaved himself for the next few days.

This made Kam and the others somewhat doubtful: was Gu Heng really so honest as to willingly let them take him away from the prosperous empire?

Given Gu Heng's good behavior each time, when he asked to use the restroom again, Kam did not accompany him personally, but only sent two insects to follow him.

In fact, Gu Heng did not run away; he returned within the agreed time.

When it was time to eat, Gu Heng accepted the food handed to him by the female insect.

Kam had failed to humiliate Gu Heng and was instead restrained, so he had given up on his schemes.

Now Gu Heng eats the same food as them.

"Something's not right with this dish!"

Gu Heng suddenly called out.

The female insects, who were just having their meal, turned their gazes toward Gu Heng upon hearing the noise.

"What's wrong?" Kam stared intently at Gu Heng, wondering what kind of trouble he was up to now, but it was definitely nothing good.

"This dish... seems to be poisonous."

Under Adam's horrified gaze, Gu Heng's face turned pale, and he coughed up a mouthful of white foam.

His action terrified many insects.

Kam slammed his hand on the table first, stood up, and then quickly walked over to Gu Heng to check on the situation.

The male insect's lips turned white and its eyes became unfocused, truly resembling signs of poisoning.

He was bent over, his hands clutching his chest, as if enduring immense pain.

"Isn't he eating the same food as us?"

Adam looked dazed, clearly not understanding why Gu Heng had suddenly become so half-dead.

"Who served the food?" Kam's gaze was sharp as a hawk, scanning every single insect present.

After a long while, a purple-haired female insect silently raised her hand and whispered, "It's me."

Kam's eyes narrowed as he scrutinized the insect, clearly suspecting that it might have put something it shouldn't have in Gu Heng's food.

"Has this food been handled by other insects?"

"No," Purple-haired Bug said, forcing a smile, "I was in charge of the whole thing."

Kam's gaze seemed to bore a hole through the insects opposite him. His lips moved, as if he wanted to question them further, but Gu Heng's weak voice drifted into the ears of every insect.

"Am I going to die?"

Gu Heng pointed at them, his knuckles trembling slightly. "You're all like insects, but how come... you all look like two identical ones now?"

Adam's voice sounded strained, as if forced from his throat, tinged with fear. "Is the male insect already hallucinating?"

"What should I do?! My hand seems to have lost all feeling..."

As soon as Gu Heng finished speaking, the bowl in his hand fell to the ground with a 'clatter,' shattering in two, and the remaining food was scattered all over the floor.

Gu Heng's fingers were limp, and he looked like he had no strength left. Kam frowned. Was it that serious?

Kam looked at the purple-haired female insect. "What did you do?"

"I didn't do anything, and I have no grudge against the male insect." The purple-haired insect's eyes were blank; he was truly innocent!

He had just finished dividing the food and brought it over to the male insect, who knew this would happen.

"...Could you take me to the hospital?"

Upon hearing Gu Heng's words, Kam's expression instantly became cautious.

He scrutinized Gu Heng from head to toe with a highly suspicious gaze. "You're not faking it, are you?"

"No... do I look like I'm faking it?" Gu Heng's voice was weak and listless, as if he might roll his eyes and faint at any moment.

Kam hesitated.

Gu Heng didn't give him time to think or react. He spat out another mouthful of white foam, closed his eyes, and seemed to have lost his mind.

Looking over, the insects indeed felt that Gu Heng wasn't faking it.

"If you don't get me to the hospital soon, I might really die. Let's see how you explain that to your leader."

Gu Heng's voice slowly drew out, reaching the ears of every insect present.

In the end, Gu Heng was sent to the hospital.

The leader doesn't want dead insects.
