The male insect adores it! The female general, envious, begs for a kiss.

Chapter 121 Listening to the Female Ruler's Words

The wedding went smoothly.

When Gu Heng and Hermes returned home, the sun had already set, and the sunset glow had painted half the sky red.

Before disembarking from the aircraft, Gu Heng received a message. He only glanced at it briefly before turning off the screen.

After entering the room, Gu Heng sat on the sofa and played with his personal computer for a while as if nothing had happened. When he caught a glimpse of Heamis in the distance, he slowly sat up straight.

Once Heemis had completely disappeared from Gu Heng's sight, he opened the door and went out again.

The movements were very gentle.

After leaving the house, Gu Heng's gaze swept around the room before finally settling on a shadowy insect under a tree not far away.

He walked over.

The female insect also noticed Gu Heng walking towards him. After the insect got closer, he handed over what he was holding, "Sir, the ring you ordered has been finished."

Gu Heng took the box from the female insect and opened it. A silver ring came into view, its understated shape gleaming softly in the setting sun.

It was indeed completed according to Gu Heng's drawings.

After checking and confirming that everything was correct, Gu Heng paid the remaining balance.

"You need to sign again."

The female insect handed over a purchase order, which Gu Heng glanced at before signing his name in the lower right corner.

The female insect folded the paper neatly and said to Gu Heng, "Okay, then I won't bother you any longer. Have a nice day."

After parting ways, Gu Heng walked home, his knuckles tightening slightly as he held the box in his hand, almost cupping the entire box in his palm.

Just then, an unexpected change occurred.

A sharp wind seemed to rise from the calm air.

Gu Heng frowned, as if he sensed something.

He shifted to the side, and a mental attack grazed past him.

The distance was so close, it could only be described as breathtaking.

Gu Heng turned his head to look over, his expression pausing slightly.

"Curtis?"

Just then, a female insect appeared under the tree where he had just stood. Her eyes were cold and indifferent, and she was staring coldly at Gu Heng.

Curtis uttered a single sentence, quietly stating a fact, "Your skills... seem even better than before."

To be more precise, although Gu Heng had strong mental power before, he did not have such a rapid reaction speed now.

Curtis was surprised that Gu Heng had dodged his mental attack, and that this was done without him revealing himself.

Gu Heng remained noncommittal to Curtis's words. During this time, Heamis would always take some time to teach Gu Heng, sometimes at the military headquarters and sometimes at home.

Gu Heng is now gradually understanding what Heamis meant by integrating spiritual power into one's senses to perceive the things around them.

Therefore, Gu Heng noticed Curtis's sneak attack just now.

"It was Heamis who taught you," Curtis said with certainty, his eyes revealing an inscrutable emotion.

Gu Heng stared at him, his gaze indifferent, still showing no intention of answering. He simply said, "If you came here to see me, now is not a good time."

Not to mention, right at his doorstep, security in this area has been noticeably strengthened since Gu Heng reacted to the insects here last time... although it doesn't seem to pose any obstacle to Curtis himself.

But with so many cameras around, Curtis couldn't possibly be unaware that Heamis was inside the room just a wall away.

Curtis shrugged. "Sir, I think you're overthinking it. I wouldn't do anything bad to you."

Gu Heng looked at him suspiciously.

"I just came to see how you've been lately, but it seems you're really enjoying yourself..."

Curtis changed the subject, his gaze drifting away and gradually settling on Gu Heng's tightly clenched right hand.

That's the ring box that Gu Heng just received.

Gu Heng glanced at him warily, his knuckles tightening on the box. He didn't know what Curtis was up to here.

But Curtis must have been in the vicinity all along; he was watching Gu Heng from the shadows when Gu Heng delivered the goods…

This feeling of being spied on made Gu Heng very uncomfortable.

Curtis smirked. "Don't be nervous, you always overthink things."

Gu Heng frowned as he looked at him, and then he saw the insect wave its hand behind its back as if to prove something, and then leave without looking back.

Curtis just left like that?

Gu Heng was puzzled; he couldn't understand it.

Gu Heng quickly stopped worrying about it, turned away, and went inside.

Heemis changed her clothes and left the bedroom. A short while later, she no longer saw the male insect.

After a while, the door outside the entrance was opened.

Hemira looked over and her gaze met Gu Heng's.

"My lord, you just went out?"

"Yes." Gu Heng replied, turning around to close the door.

Heemis's gaze seemed to fall on Gu Heng's right hand, which was hanging by his side, as if sensing something.

Gu Heng subtly flipped his wrist so that the back of his hand faced outwards, and casually said, "I just saw Curtis outside."

Heamis's attention was quickly diverted, and he looked on with suspicion. "Curtis?"

"Yes," Gu Heng said without changing his expression.

"He didn't do anything to you, did he?" Hermes's gaze swept over Gu Heng. Curtis was so bold as to come right up to their house.

"He tried to ambush me, but I dodged it."

Seeing the female insect's brow furrowed, Gu Heng continued, "It's all thanks to the General taking the time to teach me these past few days, otherwise I might not have been able to escape this time."

Heemis was relieved that the lord had said this, for they were well prepared.

But after a moment, Heemis's lips slowly tightened, her eyes filled with undisguised worry, "What if Curtis comes looking for you again next time..."

The powerful ruler escaped this time, but what about next time, and the time after that?

Heemis's words suddenly reminded Gu Heng of something, and he asked, "Didn't you say that Curtis experienced another mental breakdown?"

Under Heemis's gaze, Gu Heng pondered for a moment before speaking, "Curtis's mental strength is noticeably different today than last time... perhaps his mental strength level has decreased."

Upon hearing this, Heemis's expression was one of surprise, yet also as if she had expected it.

"So he only has S-level mental strength now..."

Heamis finally said, "But you should still be careful."

Gu Heng nodded.

It's never a bad thing to be careful.
