Cultivation of Immortality: This is what unorthodox methods are like.

Chapter 397 Generation after generation, it has always been like this.

Taoist scriptures record:

The world beyond the second layer is a world born after the death of the original world: an existence that exists between reality and illusion.

[Endless evil, evolving into its own civilization, is the orthodox path; those beings of the present world who tread upon it are demons and monsters from beyond the realm.]

The further into the future, the more vividly civilizations evolve; the more dangerous it is for beings of the present world to set foot within them.

The thirty-third layer of the world is much like the present world. Within it dwells an evil being of immense wisdom and power, who delights in enslaving immortals.

The thirty-third layer of the world is a cycle of reincarnation, constantly changing and mysterious beyond the comprehension of gods and demons.

-----------------

Upon stepping into the third layer of the world, Wang Quan recalled the records of various layers of worlds from the Taoist scriptures.

"Is this the world after the world dies?"

"Will our world descend upon us after we die someday?"

The third layer of the world was different from what he had imagined.

In his understanding:

The third layer of the world is just like the second layer, filled with countless, endless evils.

The evil here is more terrifying and stronger.

It can even resist the "Spirit of Salvation".

He had even prepared a contingency plan: if danger occurred, he would immediately use his authority to forcibly return to the second layer of the world.

But now, he feels he doesn't need to anymore.

Because he didn't see the dense array of evil; he only saw ruins and the bleak autumn wind.

This third world looks just like the real world: it has vegetation, villages, mountains, and rivers.

There were even wriggling fish and shrimp swimming in the river.

Not far away is a village.

However, the village was filled with twisted bones and collapsed houses, and not a single living person could be seen.

Noisy!Noisy!Noisy!

Strange sounds came from the wild grass.

Then a stench swept in.

Wang Quan's thoughts raced as he secretly pulled out a gourd of thunder, fire, and sunlight, ready to unleash it at any moment.

Whoosh!

A large snake slithered out of the weeds.

This giant snake was as thick as a water bucket and several dozen feet long.

It has three heads, each with a single horn; and vertical eyes that dart around on the horns.

Its scales were like those made of white bone, and now blood was flowing in many places, revealing golden flesh.

Upon seeing Wang Quan, the giant serpent's vertical eyes gleamed with wild joy: "My lord, save me!"

Wang Quan was taken aback: "You know me?"

The giant snake said happily, "My ancestor knows your ancestor."

"Fifty thousand years ago, we must have been master and servant—yes, you were the master and I was the servant."

"Master, save me!"

When Wang Quan arrived and saw his servant in such a pitiful state, he felt pity: "Come, open your mind and soul, and I'll stamp your seal."

"From now on, all living beings who see this chapter will surely not harm you."

The giant snake... I want to curse.

I was just trying to trick you, you evil spirit, into being my scapegoat. How could you actually believe me?

The giant snake hesitated.

Just then, the grass behind them rustled, and an even stronger, fishy stench swept in.

Immediately afterwards, a boy leaped out of the bushes.

This boy appears to be human, but he has two heads and four arms.

His legs are shaped like eagle claws, and he has a tail, like a scorpion's tail.

His hair fluttered in the wind, emitting hissing sounds; upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the hair was actually tiny venomous snakes.

One of the boy's heads was asleep with its eyes closed, while the other head was wide awake. He held a pitchfork in one hand, a large net in the other, and a basket in the third, staring menacingly at the three-headed snake.

The giant snake trembled, glancing at the king and then at the boy, before suddenly bursting into tears: "Master, save me!"

Wang Quan smiled.

The two-headed boy paused for a moment, then brandished his steel fork, glaring menacingly at Wang Quan, and growled, "Deformed brat, are you the master of this giant snake?"

Wang Quan paused for a moment, then shook his head: "No, I'm its enemy!"

The two-headed boy was stunned.

The three-headed serpent was even more stunned.

Wang Quan rebuked, "Since you're catching snakes, why aren't you doing it yet? What are you waiting for?"

The two-headed boy shuddered, roared, and charged at the three-headed serpent with his steel fork.

The three-headed serpent turned and ran.

As a result, the king spat out a burst of fire.

The firelight danced across the land, drawing a circle a hundred feet in size: "Within this circle, only life and death are determined, and only the living can leave."

The giant snake and the boy were stunned for a moment, then simultaneously abandoned each other and fled out of the circle.

As a result, just as they reached the edge of the circle, the circle exploded into a burst of golden-red flames.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A burst of fire erupted, and a man and a snake were sent flying backward, landing in the center of the circle.

Before they could even get up, the man and the snake began to fight each other.

The giant snake strangled him, and the steel fork pierced him.

In the end, the giant snake was no match for the enemy and fled in a frantic escape.

It ran before the king, prostrated itself on the ground, and kowtowed, pleading with tears of blood, "Master, save me!"

"My ancestors were killed by his ancestors, my ancestors were also killed by his ancestors, my grandfather, father, and brother were all killed by his ancestors."

"Now, I am going to die at his hands too."

"Only you, sir, can save me now—sir, please stamp this!"

At this moment, the two-headed boy limped toward Wang Quan: "My ancestor was bitten to death by his ancestor, and so were my ancestors, grandfather, father, and brother."

"Now, I've been bitten by him too, and I'm afraid I won't be alive for long."

"Don't stop me, or I'll have died in vain!"

Wang Quan laughed: "Look, this giant snake has been driven to the brink of desperation by you, and is now begging me to enslave it."

"If I do not enslave him, I will be failing his pleas."

"And you, my friend, you've only suffered a minor injury. Once you've recovered, I'll have my servants lure some large snakes for you to catch."

"How about we see him entice as many as you can catch?"

The two-headed boy was tempted, but then shook his head: "No, if I can't catch the giant snake today, I won't be able to pay my taxes tomorrow."

"At that time, the gods and demons in the temple will be furious and will eat me as a sacrifice."

"I don't want to die."

"My sister-in-law just promised to give me a big, healthy son. If I die, she will give birth to a son for my brother."

Wang Quan... was taken aback, shook his head, and chuckled softly:

"Taxes are due tomorrow, and you're only thinking about catching snakes today?"

The two-headed boy sighed, "You must be from out of town. Here, we catch snakes today and pay taxes tomorrow."

"This continues, every day, every month, every year."

Upon hearing this, Wang Quan fell silent.

After a long pause, he sighed, "There are so many big snakes here!"

The three-headed serpent laughed smugly: "My wife gives birth to two or three offspring every day."

"But if I die, my wife will surely reproduce with other large snakes, or even strange creatures."

"Master, save me, I don't want to die."

The boy bowed to the king: "Outsider, you cannot let me die in vain."

Wang Quan looked at the giant snake, then at the boy, and suddenly realized: "None of you will die!"

"Let's go, if we kill the gods and demons in the temple, we won't have to die!"

Both the man and the snake gasped in shock: "Hiss, isn't this a rebellion?"

"Rebellion requires an immediate uprising."

Where's your rod?

"Not having a fishing rod is suicide."
