Just as they reached the entrance of the canteen, Regiment Commander Zhao and Battalion Commander Sun walked towards them.

Commander Zhao asked with a smile, "Kaixin, are you leaving already?"

"Yes, Commander Zhao, I'm sorry to have bothered you today. Thank you for your hospitality," Li Kaixin replied with a smile.

Regiment Commander Zhao gave Battalion Commander Sun a wink.

Battalion Commander Sun immediately understood and stepped forward: "Comrade Kaixin, how about staying overnight and going back tomorrow?"

The Chen Yongtai brothers and Jiang Dahe and the others standing nearby looked puzzled, wondering what the battalion commander and regimental commander were up to.

Seeing their expressions, Li Kaixin decided to get straight to the point: "Battalion Commander Sun, Regiment Commander Zhao, just say it directly, no need to beat around the bush with me."

A hint of embarrassment flashed across Battalion Commander Sun's face.

Commander Zhao calmly replied, "Kaixin, since you've put it that way, I won't hide anything from you."

He paused for a moment, then said, "I'd like to ask you to take a clerical position in our unit. We'll give you five yuan a month, and you won't need to come here regularly. What do you think?"

"Commander Zhao, I only graduated from junior high school, I'm afraid it's not feasible," Li Kaixin politely declined.

He doesn't believe there's such a thing as getting paid without doing any work.

"Kaixin, what are you thinking?"

Commander Zhao smiled slightly and explained:

"We'd like to ask you to be our group's martial arts and shooting instructor. You only need to come once or twice a month, so it won't interfere with your work."

This was a compromise he came up with after discussing it with Battalion Commander Sun for a long time.

Even if the people couldn't stay, it would be good if their soldiers could learn a trick or two from Li Kaixin.

Li Kaixin shook his head after hearing this: "Commander Zhao, I have no experience in teaching people, and besides, I am too young, I am afraid I will not be able to convince the masses."

"Comrade Kaixin, you're overthinking it."

Battalion Commander Sun replied seriously, "Our army speaks with strength. If anyone doesn't listen, just beat them up."

Chen Yongtai took a step closer and lowered his voice:

"I'm happy, having this nominal title will also benefit you."

"You usually live in a courtyard house, where the relationships with neighbors are complicated. Sometimes having a military identity can save you some trouble."

Li Kaixin listened and began to ponder:

That was certainly true in those days; slandering or humiliating people in the military was no joke, it could really get you shot.

Although he doesn't need it now, given what happened before, his neighbors wouldn't dare to have any bad intentions towards him.

However, having multiple identities isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Seeing that Li Kaixin was still hesitating, Chen Yong'an urged, "Kaixin, don't refuse."

Jiang Dahe and a few others chimed in, offering their own advice.

Li Kaixin looked up at everyone's eager gazes and finally nodded:

"Okay, but don't blame me if I don't teach well."

Upon seeing this, Battalion Commander Sun was overjoyed and quickly patted his chest to assure him, "Comrade Kaixin, as long as you're willing to teach, I'll accept whatever result you produce."

He couldn't believe that someone this skilled didn't have some tricks up his sleeve; even a few casual pointers would be enough for the soldiers to learn for a while.

The Chen brothers and Jiang Dahe were overjoyed.

They were genuinely impressed by Li Kaixin's marksmanship and skills.

If you could learn even a move or two, you'd be incredibly powerful.

Didn't you see that Zhang Dehai, the best fighter in their group, was taken down in one move?

Commander Zhao patted Li Kaixin on the shoulder, his tone carrying a hint of warmth:

"Okay, it's settled then. I'll coordinate with your workplace in the next few days to get the paperwork done for you."

"Do I need to go through any procedures?" Li Kaixin was a little surprised.

"Of course."

Commander Zhao smiled and said, "Although you're considered an unofficial member of the military, it will still be recorded in your file. From now on, you're practically a soldier, so don't do anything out of line."

"Commander, I understand." Li Kaixin nodded solemnly.

"Great! I'm happy, from now on we're on the same side."

Commander Zhao patted Li Kaixin on the shoulder, quite pleased with the way he had addressed him earlier.

At this moment, Battalion Commander Sun turned his head and instructed Xiao Zhou, who had just reached the canteen entrance:

"Go and inform everyone in the camp to assemble at the firing range. I have something to announce."

"Yes, Battalion Commander!" Xiao Zhou responded and quickly ran towards the camp's dormitory.

Soon after, the assembly whistle rang out in the camp.

The soldiers came out in twos and threes from various places, talking amongst themselves.

"What's going on? Didn't we say there was no training today?"

"Who knows? The battalion commander suddenly summoned them; I guess something big must have happened."

When Li Kaixin and Regiment Commander Zhao arrived, the shooting range was already full of people, divided into three companies.

Chen Yongtai and the others returned to their respective teams.

Battalion Commander Sun stood at the front of the ranks. Seeing that almost everyone had arrived, he raised his voice and said, "Comrades, I've called you all here today to announce something."

He paused, his gaze sweeping across the room: "From today onwards, Comrade Li Kaixin is officially appointed as the martial arts and shooting technical instructor for our regiment. Everyone, please give him a warm welcome!"

The entire venue fell silent for a moment, then erupted in enthusiastic applause and cheers.

Battalion Commander Sun raised his hand and pressed it down, then added:

"Comrade Li Kaixin has his own job and can only come once or twice a month, so this is a rare opportunity. Anyone who tries to slack off shouldn't blame me for being ruthless!"

"Yes, Battalion Commander! We will definitely study hard." The soldiers responded in unison, their voices echoing throughout the entire firing range.

Seeing this scene, Li Kaixin stepped forward somewhat embarrassed:

"Hello everyone, from now on we will learn from each other. If there is anything I do poorly, please feel free to point it out."

"Comrade Kaixin, don't be modest!"

Company Commander Zhou laughed and shouted from below, "With your skills, who among us can teach you?"

"That's right! We don't do those empty formalities in our barracks," Company Commander Wen chimed in.

The three teams below immediately burst into laughter.

Li Kaixin smiled too, already having a plan in mind.

Just as Battalion Commander Sun had thought, he had absorbed the experience of the martial arts master two months ago.

I already have a lot of techniques for capturing and subduing enemies in my mind. If I can teach a few of them, that should be enough.
