Time Travel: My Comfortable Life After Going to the Countryside
Chapter 239 The Secret of the Cinema
Liu Xiangyang leaned back in his chair, one hand resting on the armrest, looking at the screen with no expression on his face. But then he turned his hand over and grabbed Zhao Xiaoman's hand.
Zhao Xiaoman looked down at the hand, then at him, put down the melon seeds in her hand, and held his hand in return.
The two held hands and watched the movie. On the screen, the female lead was giving an injection to a fellow villager, and the audience burst into laughter.
Zhao Xiaoman laughed too, but as she laughed, she suddenly felt a heat on her face—Liu Xiangyang turned his head and kissed her cheek.
Zhao Xiaoman was stunned.
She turned to look at him, but Liu Xiangyang had already turned back to continue watching the movie, acting as if nothing had happened.
Zhao Xiaoman blushed and gently pinched the back of his hand.
Liu Xiangyang didn't flinch, but instead gripped her hand even tighter.
After a while, Liu Xiangyang suddenly reached out and cupped her face in his hands.
Before Zhao Xiaoman could react, his lips were already pressed against hers.
This time it wasn't just a kiss on the cheek, it was a real kiss.
Zhao Xiaoman made a soft "hmm" sound, then went limp, her hands clinging to his shoulders in response.
The sound on the screen was still playing, but neither of them could hear it anymore.
After kissing for a long time, Liu Xiangyang finally let go of her.
Zhao Xiaoman leaned on his shoulder, panting, her face burning.
"You...aren't you afraid of being seen?"
Liu Xiangyang smiled.
"Who can see? They're all sitting in the front."
Zhao Xiaoman glanced ahead; everyone in front of her was staring at the screen, and no one looked back.
She breathed a sigh of relief and pinched the back of his hand again.
Liu Xiangyang didn't dodge; instead, he reached out and hugged her tightly.
Before Zhao Xiaoman could react, he had already picked her up and gently placed her on his lap.
She froze for a moment, then her face flushed red.
"what……"
Liu Xiangyang didn't say anything, but wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. Zhao Xiaoman leaned against his chest, her heart pounding frighteningly fast.
Liu Xiangyang rested his chin on her shoulder, one hand around her waist, and the other hand slowly moved down.
His palm was placed on her lower abdomen, warm and soft. Zhao Xiaoman trembled slightly. After a while, the hand slowly moved upwards.
Zhao Xiaoman pressed his hand down, her voice trembling, "Don't... someone will see us..."
Liu Xiangyang leaned close to her ear and kissed it, whispering, "They can't see us, it's so dark, and they can't see us from the front."
Zhao Xiaoman bit her lip and slowly loosened her grip. When that hand covered hers, she trembled and clenched her fists around his clothes.
She turned to look at him, her eyes watery and her lips slightly parted.
Liu Xiangyang lowered his head and kissed her.
Zhao Xiaoman turned around, put her hand on his shoulder, and responded.
As they kissed, she unconsciously scooted back a little.
Liu Xiangyang's breathing became heavy for a moment.
Zhao Xiaoman sensed something, her face turned even redder, but she didn't stop. "Whoosh!" The zipper was pulled open.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, stood up slightly on the chair, pulled down her panties, and sat down. "Xiangyang..."
Liu Xiangyang steadied her with his hand, preventing her from falling, and he kissed her even deeper.
The movie was still playing on the screen, the people in front were still watching, and the voices of various characters could be heard from the screen.
This movie theater is quite old; the seats are loose and creak under pressure.
In the corner of the last row, two people were pressed tightly together, watching the movie while embracing each other.
On the screen, the female protagonist is delivering medicine to her fellow villagers, accompanied by warm background music.
Zhao Xiaoman nestled in his arms, clutching his clothes, her lips curled into a wide smile.
After a while, she whispered, "Sunny~".
Liu Xiangyang, who was busy holding her, asked, "Hmm, what's wrong?"
"This movie is really good," Zhao Xiaoman said, facing the wall with her eyes closed.
Liu Xiangyang lowered his head and kissed her eyelids, then brushed aside her sweat-dampened bangs and said, "I'll bring you here often from now on."
Zhao Xiaoman hugged him tighter, tilted her head back, and let her pigtails sway in the air.
The movie was still playing, but neither of them watched it much.
In the corner of the last row, two people stood close together, seemingly living in a different world from the upright audience in front of them.
As the movie was about to end, the two let out a long sigh, got up, tidied their seats, and left early with their backs bent.
When they arrived at the movie theater, it was already past nine o'clock. There was no one on the street. Zhao Xiaoman, whose legs were weak, was held in Liu Xiangyang's arms.
"Xiangyang, that was too exciting! I won't do that again next time. I almost screamed out loud," Zhao Xiaoman said softly, her face flushed.
As the movie was about to end, the two of them let out a long sigh, got up to tidy up their seats, and left the theater early with their backs bent.
When I arrived at the movie theater, it was almost nine o'clock. The streets were deserted, the streetlights were dim, and there wasn't a soul in sight.
Zhao Xiaoman's legs went weak, and she was held in Liu Xiangyang's arms, her face buried in his chest, as red as a ripe shrimp.
"Xiangyang, that was so exciting," she said in a soft, slightly trembling voice. "I won't do that again next time. I almost screamed."
Liu Xiangyang looked down at her and smiled. "You didn't scream, did you?"
Zhao Xiaoman gently pinched his waist.
"You're still laughing! It's all your fault..."
Liu Xiangyang hugged her tighter.
"Blame me, blame me."
Zhao Xiaoman looked up at him, her eyes watery, her face still flushed from the previous moment.
"Xiangyang, what time is it?"
Liu Xiangyang took out his watch and looked at it.
It's 9:30.
Zhao Xiaoman was stunned for a moment, then became anxious.
"It's 9:30? Well, then I can't get back! The dorms are already locked!"
Liu Xiangyang couldn't help but laugh when he saw her jumping up and down in a panic.
Zhao Xiaoman pinched him again.
"You're still laughing!"
Liu Xiangyang took her hand.
"If we can't go back, we don't have to go back."
Zhao Xiaoman blinked.
"Then...where to go?"
Liu Xiangyang helped her sit on the back of the bicycle and then got on himself.
"I'll take you to stay at a guesthouse."
-
The guesthouse was located near the train station; it was a three-story building with a sign that read "Railway Guesthouse" hanging at the entrance.
Liu Xiangyang parked the car and pulled Zhao Xiaoman inside.
The receptionist was an elderly man wearing reading glasses, who was leaning over the counter reading a newspaper. Hearing the noise, he looked up and his gaze swept over the two of them.
"A hotel?"
Liu Xiangyang nodded, took out his work ID from his pocket, and handed it over.
"Book a room."
The old man took the work permit, looked at it, then at Liu Xiangyang, then at Zhao Xiaoman, his expression somewhat subtle.
Zhao Xiaoman stood to the side, her face flushed, but she didn't dodge.
The old man returned his work ID to him and was about to speak when Zhao Xiaoman suddenly stepped forward.
"Comrade, I'd like to open one too."
She took out her training certificate and her educated youth certificate from her pocket and placed them on the counter.
The old man paused for a moment, looked at the two items, then at the two people, his expression becoming even more subtle.
Liu Xiangyang stood to the side without saying a word, a slight smile playing on his lips.
The old man took Zhao Xiaoman's certificate, flipped through it, looked at the two of them, and finally lowered his head to make two notes in his notebook.
"Two rooms, right?"
Zhao Xiaoman nodded.
"Yes, two."
The old man pushed two keys over.
"202 and 203 are next to each other. One dollar and fifty cents per room."
Liu Xiangyang paid the bill, took the keys, and pulled Zhao Xiaoman upstairs.
At the corner of the stairs, Zhao Xiaoman glanced back and saw that the old man had already continued reading his newspaper.
She breathed a sigh of relief and whispered:
"That scared me to death..."
Liu Xiangyang smiled.
"What are you afraid of?"
Zhao Xiaoman glared at him.
"What are you afraid of? Afraid that people will think we are..."
Before she could finish speaking, her face turned red again.
Liu Xiangyang pulled her over and kissed her on the forehead.
"Aren't you afraid now?"
Zhao Xiaoman smiled with her lips pursed, but didn't say anything.
The two went upstairs and walked to the door of 202. Liu Xiangyang inserted the key and turned the doorknob.
He turned to look at Zhao Xiaoman.
Zhao Xiaoman was also looking at him.
The corridor was quiet, with only the hum of the overhead fluorescent lights.
Liu Xiangyang reached out and pulled her into the house.
The door closed.
The door to apartment 203 next door was never opened from beginning to end.
