Time Travel: My Comfortable Life After Going to the Countryside
Chapter 206 Class Assignment
Class 3's classroom is on the second floor at the east end, with more than twenty desks packed full.
When Liu Xiangyang pushed open the door, there were already some people sitting inside. Some were looking down at their documents, while others were huddled together talking quietly.
His gaze swept over and was immediately drawn to a woman sitting by the window.
Liu Xiangyang paused for a moment.
The woman was facing away from him, looking down at a mimeographed lecture book.
Her profile was so exquisite it looked like it had been painted, with a high and straight nose, long and curled eyelashes, and fair and translucent skin with visible veins. Her jet-black hair was tied in a ponytail, revealing a slender, white neck.
She was wearing a neat floral shirt with a small red hair clip at the collar.
Liu Xiangyang's heart skipped a beat.
He never expected to meet such a beautiful woman while participating in barefoot doctor training; he thought they would all be rough men.
He couldn't help but glance at her a few more times; her features were deep and she had a mixed-race charm.
She has a great figure; you can tell she has a slim waist even when she's sitting down, and her upper body is full and shapely.
Liu Xiangyang withdrew his gaze, walked over, and sat down in the empty seat next to her.
The woman heard the noise, looked up at him, and stopped when her gaze landed on his face.
Her eyes were large, with slightly sunken eye sockets, like two black grapes. At this moment, a hint of surprise flashed across her face. She blinked her beautiful eyes, her eyelashes fluttered, and her lips parted slightly before closing again.
She stared at Liu Xiangyang for a full two seconds.
Liu Xiangyang also looked at her, a slight smile playing on his lips, as if to greet her.
The woman seemed to realize something, lowered her eyes, her face returned to its usual expressionless state, and continued looking at her lecture notes, but her cheeks were slightly flushed.
Liu Xiangyang didn't pay any attention, spread out the materials, and flipped through a couple of pages.
After a while, the door was pushed open again.
Wang Dazhu peeked in, looked around, and when he saw Liu Xiangyang, his eyes lit up and he ran over excitedly.
"Hey bro, we're really destined to meet! I'm also in Class 3!" He plopped down next to Liu Xiangyang.
Liu Xiangyang glanced at him: "You're behind me in line, so doesn't that mean we'll be in the same class?"
Wang Dazhu scratched his head, looking speechless at Liu Xiangyang: "I don't know either. Anyway, I was assigned to Class 3. I just asked around, and there are a total of 60 or 70 people in the three classes. Isn't this just fate?"
Then, he lowered his voice and leaned closer, winking and saying, "I just saw Dr. Jiang at the registration desk. When she was talking to you, her smile was so sweet..."
Liu Xiangyang smiled and said, "You can't just say things like that."
"I'm not making this up!" Wang Dazhu said seriously. "It's true, I was behind you in line, and I could see it clearly. The way she looked at me was completely different from how she looked at you. She was very businesslike when she asked me questions."
"She asked you incredibly detailed questions, all while laughing, and told you to ask her anytime if you didn't understand something."
After saying that, he imitated Dr. Jiang Juan's tone, using a high-pitched voice: "Comrade Xiangyang, feel free to ask me any questions."
Liu Xiangyang was amused by him and reached out to push him: "Alright, alright, you talk too much."
Wang Dazhu chuckled, gestured to the side with his lip, and lowered his voice: "See that? A stunning beauty!"
Liu Xiangyang followed his gaze and glanced at him.
The woman was still looking down at her lecture notes, her eyelashes drooping, her profile as serene as a painting. Her fingers, which were turning the pages, were slender and white, with neatly manicured nails.
"Don't talk nonsense. We're all comrades-in-arms. What are you talking about?"
Wang Dazhu waited a while, but nothing came of it. He scratched his head and said, "Is that all you're going to do?"
"Otherwise what?" Liu Xiangyang flipped to a page of the handout. "We're here for training, not to find dates. There are pretty girls everywhere."
Wang Dazhu thought for a moment and nodded: "That's true, but you dare to sit next to her. Look, you're the only one around her."
At this moment, the pretty girl put down the documents in her hand, turned to Wang Dazhu and said, "Comrade, it's best not to talk about others in front of them in the future."
Even if you're speaking in front of others, you can keep your voice down.
"Also, I have a name. My name is Lin Xue, not Tsk." After saying that, Lin Xue went back to looking through the documents.
Wang Dazhu blushed deeply after Lin Xue's direct rebuttal, and he lowered his head, not daring to utter a single word.
Just then, the door was pushed open again, and several more people came in.
A woman walked in, her eyes scanning the room before landing directly on Liu Xiangyang.
Her eyes lit up, and she skipped over to sit down in the empty seat next to him.
"Is nobody here?"
Liu Xiangyang shook his head, indicating that no one was there.
After the woman sat down, she smiled at him and said softly, "My name is Zhao Xiaoman. What's your name, comrade?"
"Liu Xiangyang".
"Xiangyang," Zhao Xiaoman tilted her head to look at him, "that name is as handsome as you are. Which commune are you from?"
"From Dongsheng Village."
"I'm from Kaoshantun." She blinked. "We'll be classmates from now on, so I'll have to trouble Comrade Xiangyang to take good care of me."
After everyone registered and was assigned to their respective classes, the meeting began.
The three classes of people were crammed into the large conference room. The hospital leaders gave a speech, talking about how the Chairman had shifted the focus of medical and health work to the countryside, the glorious mission of barefoot doctors, and how everyone should study hard and go back to serve the people.
Liu Xiangyang sat in the back row, listening to these words and taking notes seriously. Putting everything else aside, the Chairman was truly a saint just for mentioning barefoot doctors.
Wang Dazhu was yawning when someone next to him nudged him.
Zhao Xiaoman would occasionally turn her head to look at him and smile at him.
Lin Xue sat in a seat across the aisle and never looked this way, but the female students next to her kept glancing at Liu Xiangyang.
The opening ceremony ended at noon.
The cafeteria was packed with people; there were sixty or seventy students from three shifts, plus hospital staff, and long queues formed at the food windows.
Liu Xiangyang got his food and found a corner to sit down.
As soon as I sat down, someone came over with a bowl of food next to me.
"Is anyone here?" It was an unfamiliar female student with two braids.
Liu Xiangyang shook his head.
The woman sat down and smiled at him: "You're in Class 3, right? I'm in Class 4, my name is Li Xiufen."
Liu Xiangyang nodded: "Liu Xiangyang."
"I know, I heard your name during the morning report," Li Xiufen said, her face slightly flushed.
Before they could exchange more than two words, another woman came over.
"Is there a seat here?"
Another person sat down.
When Wang Dazhu squeezed through with his rice bowl, three or four women had already gathered around Liu Xiangyang.
He stood there, looking at Liu Xiangyang, then at the women, scratched his head, and sat down next to Liu Xiangyang.
Liu Xiangyang had gotten used to this situation during high school and didn't want to change it.
He ate his meal by himself, responding only half-heartedly to their attempts to strike up a conversation.
Zhao Xiaoman squeezed through from behind, glanced at the scene, and sat down opposite Liu Xiangyang, smiling at the other women:
"Squeeze in, squeeze in, we're all classmates."
Lin Xue walked past with her rice bowl, glanced at this side, looked elsewhere, and finally sat down at another table.
A female doctor next to her lowered her voice and said, "Is that Liu Xiangyang from your class? The whole hospital was talking about it all morning, saying that someone even better-looking than Dr. Zhou has arrived."
"Looking at it this way, he really is much better looking than Dr. Zhou." After saying that, he nudged Lin Xue with his shoulder. "Xue'er, you two are a perfect match, a handsome man and a beautiful woman."
Lin Xue ignored her and took a bite of her food.
"He's really good-looking..." The woman didn't finish her sentence, but just glanced at Liu Xiangyang again.
