Time Travel: My Comfortable Life After Going to the Countryside

Chapter 126 Which company has the best photography skills?

"And these hot water bottles, the ones made of good quality rubber, take eight of them."

"Ten soft towels, please."

"Oh, right, ten of those wooden dressing cases with mirrors."

He spoke at a steady pace, almost without hesitation, clearly having a list in mind. Wan Wu diligently jotted it down while instructing his men to fetch the goods as ordered, his eyes revealing amazement; this man's scale was getting larger and larger each time.

Leqi and Leyao were dumbfounded. They watched as those sought-after items, which used to require tickets and queues to buy, were being taken out and packaged in piles here.

Le Qi tugged at Liu Xiangyang: "Brother Xiangyang, you don't need to buy so much. You can't possibly use it all."

"You'll find out when we get back to the village," Liu Xiangyang said, patting her hand.

Leqi silently counted the number of people in her mind and roughly understood what was going on. But when she counted, something was wrong. Why was there one extra portion?

The items were quickly piled up into a small heap. After thinking for a moment, Liu Xiangyang said to Wanwu, "Fifth Brother, if you have any old ginseng slices or top-quality donkey-hide gelatin for women, pack ten portions for me, the best quality ones."

"And give me a few pieces of silk in all colors, all by Jimmy Liao."

"We have everything! A batch of good goods just arrived, let me pick one for you!" Wan Wu nodded repeatedly.

After Liu Xiangyang finished selecting his items, Wan Wu came over and offered him a cigarette. "Brother, do you have any other good stuff you'd like to see?"

Liu Xiangyang took the cigarette, glanced at him, and said, "If Fifth Brother says it's good stuff, then I have to take a look."

Wan Wu led Liu Xiangyang into a nearby room, opened a bag, took out the contents, and handed them to him.

"Brother, I had a hard time getting these. There aren't many, just these two packs. We're on good terms, so I'll give you half. You can take it for this price." Wan Wu gestured with his palm.

Liu Xiangyang opened the package and saw that it contained stockings, some flesh-colored and some black, which he liked. Without saying a word, he put them away.

When it came time to pay, Liu Xiangyang simply took out several stacks of brand-new ten-yuan notes from his bag, didn't even count them, and paid the price quoted by Wan Wu. The whole process was quick and efficient.

"Brother, you're awesome! If you need anything in the future, just ask, and I'll save the best for you!" Wan Wu personally escorted them to the back door. The items had already been packed into several large, inconspicuous sacks and travel bags, which were then tied to the bicycles.

Leaving the old building and returning to broad daylight, Leqi and Leyao were still somewhat dazed. The heavy load of their purchases on their bicycles and the shopping spree they had just experienced left them speechless for a moment.

At first, they thought it was only a few dozen yuan based on Wan Wu's gestures, but little did they know that Liu Xiangyang paid him more than three hundred yuan.

The bulging sacks and travel bags on the handlebars and back seat silently told the story of what had just happened.

Le Yao couldn't help but turn back and glance again at the quiet alley that had disappeared into the depths of the street corner. She lowered her voice, almost whispering to her sister, "Sis, you just gave away over three hundred yuan like that?"

She kept replaying in her mind the "several tens of yuan" she had guessed when Wan Wu gestured, and the huge difference between that and the thick stack of banknotes Liu Xiangyang pulled out. That was almost the income of an ordinary worker for more than half a year without eating or drinking.

Leqi was calmer than her sister, but her heart was pounding just as hard. She gave a soft "hmm" and her gaze fell on Liu Xiangyang's tall and straight back.

Liu Xiangyang seemed to notice the two bewildered gazes behind him. He stopped and waited for the two sisters to catch up before smiling and speaking in a tone as calm as if discussing the weather: "Money is meant to be spent. If you spend it wisely, if you spend it on your own family, then it's worth it. Don't overthink it."

"But this is too much," Yue Yao couldn't help but click her tongue. "Those things, even with a receipt, are..."

"The department store doesn't have these," Liu Xiangyang interrupted her, his eyes sweeping meaningfully over the packages, especially the small bag he kept close to his body. "Even if they did, you couldn't buy them anytime."

He paused, looked at Leqi, and said in a more serious tone: "Qiqi, Yaoyao, I know how to divide and use these things when we take them back. Everyone will have some, without favoritism. Remember, in the future, we can do whatever we want behind closed doors, but when we're outside, we should still act normally. These things are just for our own people to know."

The three of them rode bicycles to deliver the items back to Chen Jie's home.

Inside the house, the two sisters were discussing how to make clothes when Liu Xiangyang took out a camera from his spatial storage, came in front of them, and snapped a picture. The click startled the two sisters awake.

The two men were pleasantly surprised to see the camera and gathered around it. "Brother Xiangyang, where did you get this camera?"

"I bought this camera so I could capture your beauty. We'll go out this afternoon and take some good pictures of you. My photography skills are top-notch, professional." Liu Xiangyang took another picture of them.

"Xiangyang, don't waste the film roll, we haven't even gotten dressed yet," Leqi said.

"You are beautiful no matter when."

"You're always saying nice things." Leqi scolded playfully, but couldn't stop smiling. She quickly raised her hand to tidy her hair, which had become a little messy when she was startled by the flash.

Le Yao also came over, curiously and excitedly touching the bellows of the Nikon twin-lens reflex camera: "Brother Xiangyang, I've never seen this camera before!"

"I got it from that colleague from Wanwu today, it's a foreign brand." Liu Xiangyang smiled and took another picture of them gathered around the camera, studying it. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you look beautiful in the photos."

One afternoon, Liu Xiangyang and Le Qi had over ten photos taken of each of them. They kept saying that it was enough, but as soon as Liu Xiangyang raised the camera, they immediately struck a pose.

After that afternoon, Liu Xiangyang could clearly feel that the two sisters had finally let go, and they were completely different from yesterday.

The three of them queued until it was almost dark before taking the bus home. When they got home, Chen Jie was already cooking. Hearing the door open, she peeked in and asked, "Where did you go? I saw so much stuff."

Le Yao quickly replied, "Brother Xiangyang took us to buy a lot of things this morning, and then took us to take photos this afternoon. Sister Chen, next time I'll ask Brother Xiangyang to take some good pictures of you too. You should let future generations know how beautiful you are."

Chen Jie's face flushed red instantly, but thankfully she had already returned to the kitchen, and her voice trembled as she spoke.

"Okay, then next time Xiangyang comes over, I'll have her take some good pictures of me."

As she spoke, she recalled those embarrassing photos of herself being taken. She wondered where that devilish star got so many tricks up her sleeve, especially that photo that was longer than her face.

Chen Jie shivered; she felt she should probably change her panties.
