Underworld: Starting with conquering countless lustful beauties
Chapter 89 Terrain Advantage
Before Old Li could recover from his shock, Chen Feng pulled him into the simple office.
The lights were still on inside, and on the table sat a pot of cold tea and a half-worn pack of cigarettes. In the corner, Old Li's wife was huddled up, and when she saw Old Li return, tears welled up in her eyes.
"Old man! Are you alright?"
"It's alright, it's alright, Boss Chen is here to help us." Old Li comforted his wife, then turned to look at Chen Feng with a complicated expression.
Without wasting words, Chen Feng took out a pre-prepared contract from his pocket and spread it out on the table.
"Uncle Li, I'll get straight to the point." Chen Feng lit a cigarette, his tone calm but unwavering. "Those guys ran away, but Mad Dog Qiang will be back with his men in at most an hour. Tonight's deal is either a fight to the death, or you sign the papers now and sell the battlefield to me."
Old Li's hands trembled slightly as he looked at the contract, unsure of what to say.
"Once you sign, this battlefield is my property. It's only right that I guard my own territory." Chen Feng flicked his cigarette ash. "If you don't sign, then I'm just meddling tonight. Mad Dog Qiang is here; I have no reason to stay and risk my life for you."
These words were spoken very bluntly, even somewhat coldly, but Old Li understood them completely.
That's the rule in the underworld: there's no such thing as helping without a reason, and no friendship without mutual benefit. Chen Feng already took a huge risk by bringing his men tonight. Why would he let someone take a knife for him if there wasn't enough to go around?
"I'll sign!"
Old Li gritted his teeth, pulled a ballpoint pen from the pen holder, and shakily signed his name on the contract, then pressed his bright red fingerprint on it.
"This is the deposit, 100,000." Chen Feng took out a thick wad of cash from his briefcase and slapped it on the table. "I'll give you the rest of the money tomorrow after the formalities are completed. I, Chen Feng, keep my word." He had already notified Wang Defa to send someone to deliver the money on his way here. He was determined to take over Old Li's sand and gravel quarry today.
Old Li looked at the pile of money, his eyes reddening. "Boss Chen, you...you're a straightforward man," Old Li said, his eyes still red. "From now on, I'm entrusting this sand and gravel quarry to you."
"I, Lao Li, have traveled all over the country in my life and met countless people." He took a deep breath, bowed solemnly to Chen Feng, and said, "You are a responsible man."
"Uncle Li, you're too kind." Chen Feng helped him up. "I admire you for working so hard at your age."
After signing the contract, Chen Feng didn't waste any time and immediately left the office to begin making arrangements.
"Dazhuang!"
"exist!"
"Take your men and survey the terrain of the battlefield. This place is backed by a mountain wall, and there's only one road leading up; it's a good location that's easy to defend and difficult to attack."
"Alright!" Dazhuang rubbed his hands excitedly. "Don't worry, Brother Feng, I guarantee we'll turn this place into an impregnable fortress!"
"Ergou."
Chen Feng lowered his voice and pulled Er Gou aside.
"Go and fetch that thing."
"Also, tell the guys at the base to wait at the foot of the mountain for my call. Rush up there only after you get the message!"
Er Gou's eyes sharpened, and he immediately understood what Chen Feng meant. Without saying a word, he jumped onto a motorcycle and disappeared into the night.
Chen Feng stood at the highest point of the battlefield, lit a cigarette, and looked down at the winding road below.
Old Li's sand pit isn't large, but its location is excellent. It's backed by a mountain wall, with steep rocks on three sides, and only one road leads up from the main entrance. The open space at the entrance isn't spacious; it can only park a dozen or so cars at most, making it impossible for everyone to rush in.
It is easy to defend but difficult to attack.
Chen Feng's lips curled up slightly, and he already had a plan in mind.
He took out his phone, turned his back to everyone, walked to a corner, and dialed a number.
After Monkey and the others finished their work, they gathered together to discuss how to deal with the situation later. Chen Feng put his phone back in his pocket and walked over as well.
The monkey and Dazhuang didn't look too good.
"Brother Feng!" Monkey was the first to rush over, his face full of anxiety. "We need to call for backup right away! Those bastards ran back to report, and Mad Dog Qiang will definitely bring his men back to kill us! We only have twenty-odd men; we can't hold them off!"
"Yeah, Brother Feng!" Er Gou stamped his feet anxiously. "Jinbihuihuang still has over twenty people. If we call now, they can get here in at least half an hour..."
"It's too late." Dazhuang frowned. "It takes at least forty minutes to get here from the city. Mad Dog Qiang's lair is not far down the mountain. If he gathers all his men, he can storm up here in half an hour at most."
The group chatted amongst themselves, their conversation growing increasingly chaotic.
Some people started checking their weapons, some were counting how many brothers were still able to fight, and others were already planning their escape route—whether there was a trail behind the mountain to run away from.
A tense atmosphere filled the air.
Chen Feng, however, lit another cigarette at some point and leaned against the captured yellow bulldozer, leisurely puffing away, looking as relaxed as if he were on a picnic.
"Brother Feng!" Monkey couldn't hold back any longer, rushing over and snatching the cigarette from Chen Feng's mouth. "Say something! What are we going to do?! Should we call for help?!"
Chen Feng looked at the monkey's pale face and couldn't help but laugh.
What's the rush?
He took the cigarette back from the monkey, flicked off the ash, and said slowly, "In this world, you rely on your brain, not brute force. What's the use of numbers? Dozens of people crammed onto this mountain path, aren't they just lining up to die?"
"But……"
"No buts." Chen Feng straightened up, his gaze sweeping over everyone present. "Listen up, all of you. From now on, do as I say."
He pointed to the gate: "Dazhuang, take five men and guard the gate. Move those two bulldozers sideways to block the entrance. If they want to come in, they'll have to move the bulldozers first."
"Ergou, take some men and move the sandbags out of the warehouse. Build two low walls at the entrance. With cover, we can wait for the enemy to attack."
"Monkey, go look in the office and see if there's a flashlight or something. Later, turn off all the lights in the training ground, except for the searchlight at the main entrance. They'll shine it from the bright areas to the dark, we'll shine it from the dark to the bright—that's called gaining a visual advantage."
"The rest of you, come with me to the second floor. The view from there is expansive and commanding; one person there can be worth three."
The series of commands were crisp, efficient, and orderly.
The group looked at each other, their initial panic gradually subsiding.
"What are you all standing there for? Get moving!" Chen Feng shouted.
"it is good!"
Everyone responded enthusiastically and went about their tasks.
Dazhuang told people to move the bulldozer, Ergou led people to move sandbags, and Monkey dashed into the office and ransacked it.
Chen Feng stood still, watching the busy crowd, his smile growing wider.
Of course, he wouldn't rely solely on these twenty-odd brothers to fight Mad Dog Qiang; these twenty-odd brothers were his entire fortune.
Even if Mad Dog Qiang is ruthless, he wouldn't dare to besiege a legitimate sand quarry in broad daylight. If that happened, not only would Ninth Master be unable to protect him, but even the Liu guy behind him wouldn't be able to.
So, if he can just get through tonight, he'll win.
Meanwhile, at a nightclub in the southern part of the city.
Amidst deafening music, Mad Dog Qiang leaned back on the sofa in the private room, with a woman on each arm. His bald head gleamed, an extravagant gold chain hung around his neck, and his Rolex gleamed under the lights.
"Brother Qiang, want a drink?" A scantily clad woman came over and brought a glass to his lips.
Just as Mad Dog Qiang was about to take the wine glass, the door to the private room was suddenly kicked open.
Several henchmen, covered in blood, stumbled in, their faces pale and their condition utterly wretched.
