Let this mischievous little mouse scare him a bit and make him suffer a small loss; perhaps that will really make him more aware.

"Hehe, that's an interesting idea."

Sun Wukong grinned, revealing his sharp teeth: "Alright! I, Old Sun, approve! You just go ahead, I'll be watching nearby and make sure you don't really suffer any losses. However..."

He changed the subject, teasingly saying, "Don't scare me too much, or you might frighten Master into something bad. I, Old Sun, won't be able to explain it to the Bodhisattva."

"Don't worry! I know what I'm doing!" Bai Yeying patted her chest to assure them, her face beaming with eager excitement.

Having finalized their plan, Sun Wukong, carrying an empty alms bowl, pretended to continue searching for vegetarian food. His figure disappeared behind the rocks in a few leaps, but in reality, he secretly circled back and hid nearby to observe.

Bai Yeying transformed in an instant. In a flash of light, the beautiful young girl was gone, replaced by a young village woman in simple clothes and carrying a bamboo basket.

Upon hearing the voice, Tang Sanzang opened his eyes and saw a peasant woman. He quickly stood up and returned the greeting: "Amitabha, greetings, benefactor. This humble monk has come from the East and is on his way to the West to worship Buddha and seek scriptures."

As soon as Pigsy saw the young woman, his small eyes lit up. He leaned forward and chuckled, "Female Bodhisattva, where have you come from? It's dangerous to be alone in this desolate wilderness!"

Bai Yeying lowered her eyes and, following the words she had prepared beforehand, spoke with just the right amount of fear in her voice: "I live in Lingxi Village. Today I went up the mountain to pick some wild vegetables, but I got lost. I saw several elders in the distance with solemn appearances, like enlightened monks, so I came to ask for directions, and... I also wish to ask for a drink of water."

As she spoke, she licked her dry, chapped lips, looking both thirsty and tired.

Seeing her pitiful appearance and the fact that she was a lone woman, Tang Sanzang felt a surge of pity and quickly said, "Please sit down, female benefactor. I have some clean water here." He then asked Sha Wujing to fetch his water bag.

Pigsy was even more eager, bringing over a flat stone: "Female Bodhisattva, please sit down! You must be tired after walking such a long mountain path!"

Another village woman, carrying a bamboo basket, gracefully walked from the other end of the mountain path. She was beautiful and had a slender figure, even more lifelike than the one Bai Yeying had transformed into. Even the gentle innocence in her eyes was just right.

"Elders..." the village woman began, her voice soft and gentle.

However, this time, Tang Sanzang's reaction was completely different.

He sprang up from the rock as if electrocuted, staggering backward, his face drained of color. Pointing at the other man, his voice shrill with fear, he cried out, "Stop! You... what kind of demon are you in disguise? Don't... don't try to fool this humble monk again!"

The village woman was none other than the White Bone Demon in disguise. The smile on her face froze.

She never expected the monk to be so vigilant? Had the very first step of her plan gone wrong?
