Chapter 52 The Girl Who Escaped from a Pyramid Scheme

Hao Qiangzhuang pushed open the wooden gate at the entrance of the fence and went inside.

The weeds inside grew taller than a person, and there was a narrow path that led directly to the mud house in the middle.

A cold wind blew, making a rustling sound all around. As it passed the haystack in front, a pheasant was startled and flew out with a whoosh.

Hao Qiang was startled and couldn't help but shout in the direction the pheasant flew away: "Don't let me catch you, or I'll make you into soup!"

When you walk to the front of the mud house, you see that the roof is covered with a thatched shed, and the walls are in disrepair, or perhaps because it has been uninhabited for too long, they have developed cracks.

The paper windows, covered in cobwebs, and crows cawing on a nearby tree, combined with the chilly wind, made it feel like stepping into a scene from a horror story.

"Let's go!"

Staying even a second longer made Hao Qiang feel uneasy, so he turned around and prepared to leave.

But as he turned around, he heard the sound of glass shattering on the ground coming from the mud house behind him.

If it were nighttime, Hao Qiangzhuang would definitely be terrified, but it's daytime now, and he wants to see what's hidden inside the mud house.

There was a handy wooden stick about a meter to the left. Hao Qiangzhuang walked over, bent down to pick up the stick, and then walked towards the mud house.

As he approached the entrance to the mud house, which was also a dilapidated wooden door that had been neglected for years and creaked and swayed in the wind, he realized that the door was old and dilapidated.

Just as he was about to reach out and push open the dilapidated wooden door, a piercing scream suddenly came from inside the mud house: "Ah..."

Immediately afterwards, a disheveled girl, her hair obscuring her face, wearing a dirty white dress and barefoot, rushed out.

Hao Qiangzhuang was startled by the sudden scene, but he quickly recovered and grabbed the girl by the back of her collar, wanting to ask what had happened.

Before he could even speak, he heard a tearing sound. The girl rushed forward recklessly, unaware that a large tear had been ripped in the back of her clothes, revealing her fair and delicate back.

She desperately burrowed into the haystack, the blades of grass leaving visible cuts all over her body, blood flowing from those wounds and dripping onto the ground.

Hao Qiangzhuang had no intention of hurting the girl; he just wanted to know what had happened.

I didn't expect the girl to react so strongly; she must have been stimulated by something.

Hao Qiangzhuang's compassion overflowed, and he hurriedly took a detour to chase after her. The moment the girl ran out of the haystack, she bumped into Hao Qiangzhuang's arms.

Hao Qiangzhuang used the opportunity to hug her tightly. The girl struggled, but in Hao Qiangzhuang's arms, she was like an eagle snatching a chick.

Her struggles were futile, and she instantly became desperate, yelling, "Let me go! I'd rather die than go back and lie to you again!"

Hao Qiangzhuang didn't reply. At this point, it was better to say nothing. He held the girl tightly, restraining her, until she was exhausted and had no strength to struggle. Only then did Hao Qiangzhuang put her down and ask, "What's wrong with you?"

The girl first looked at Hao Qiangzhuang with a fearful and uneasy expression, then asked, "Aren't you one of those people sent by the pyramid scheme to arrest me?"

"No." Hao Qiang released the girl and saw that her clothes were tattered and torn, which he had done unintentionally. He couldn't help but take off the military overcoat he was wearing and put it on the girl.

The girl stared intently at Hao Qiangzhuang, trembling all over, whether from panic or from the extreme cold.

Hao Qiangzhuang looked at the girl and couldn't help but ask, "What is pyramid selling?"

The girl lowered her head and choked up, saying, "It's an organization that specializes in deceiving people and helping them deceive others."

Hao Qiangzhuang couldn't help but ask again, "Why did you go there?"

The girl seemed to have endless grievances to pour out. She squatted down, hugged her legs, and cried, "It was my cousin who told me to start a business and earn a million in a year. I just graduated from university and haven't found a job yet, so I decided to give it a try."

Hao Qiangzhuang knelt down, gently stroking the girl's hair to comfort her: "It's all in the past now, haven't you escaped?"

Upon hearing this, the girl cried even harder: "I came out in the summer, and now it's winter, and I haven't earned a single penny. How am I going to go home?"

Hao Qiangzhuang said with a smile, "Aren't you a college student?"

The girl twitched, looked up at Hao Qiangzhuang, nodded, and said, "Yes! What's wrong?"

Hao Qiangzhuang said excitedly, "Our company is recruiting a lot of college students. You can give it a try."

The girl wiped her snot and tears with Hao Qiangzhuang's military overcoat, looked at him with suspicion, and asked, "You're not here to lie to me again, like my cousin, are you?"

When the girl said that, Hao Qiangzhuang didn't know how to answer her for a moment. After thinking for a long time, he finally said, "It's very chaotic outside right now. Do you have a choice?"

Hao Qiangzhuang's voice was harsh, but it reflected the reality: the girl had no other choice but to take another gamble.

She said, "Then can I go to your company with you?"

Hao Qiangzhuang nodded and reached out his hand to the girl. The girl raised her hand and grasped Hao Qiangzhuang's large and strong palm. Instantly, a warm feeling spread throughout her body, as if it were melting her whole body.

Hao Qiangzhuang took the girl's hand and walked out of the fence towards the company.

The girl took a few steps, then felt as if her thighs no longer belonged to her. When she lost her strength, she collapsed to her knees uncontrollably.

Hao Qiangzhuang was walking when he suddenly realized he couldn't pull the girl anymore. He hurriedly turned around and saw that the girl had knelt down.

Hao Qiangzhuang seemed a little embarrassed, thinking that the girl was going to kneel down and thank him.

He felt a little embarrassed, so he let go of the girl's hand, scratched his head, and said with a smile, "Don't be so polite."

The girl looked embarrassed and said with a wry smile, "My legs suddenly gave way, and I can't even stand up."

The scene was incredibly awkward. Hao Qiangzhuang had no choice but to squat down, bend down, and pick the girl up, saying, "By the way, what's your name?"

At this moment, the girl was extremely nervous and flustered. She was shy; it was the first time she had been held by a man. She didn't dare to look Hao Qiangzhuang in the eye, so she buried her head in his chest and whispered, "My name is Wang Qian!"

Hao Qiangzhuang was stunned for a moment. He swallowed hard, his heart pounding. He slowly lowered his head and looked at the girl in his arms: "Push your hair aside and let me see what you look like!"
