Who moved her body?

Chapter 13 Everyone has a sad past.

"No wonder Papaya said I made a good deal by taking your order; it really suits my taste." The girl licked her lips, seemingly quite satisfied with the piece of beef she had just eaten.

Guan Jie took two glasses from the bar behind the door. They weren't stemmed glasses, but the kind of glasses used for drinking tea.

Hotels of this caliber don't serve wine glasses; even if they're placed on the bar, they'll disappear within a day.

The wine glass is too delicate.

"Handsome, I charge by the hour, you know. If you want a candlelight dinner, you can find someone romantic to go with you. I'm an impatient person, I like fast food." The girl sat on the edge of the bed, put her hands behind her back, gave Guan Jie a flirtatious wink, and then let the other bra strap slip down.

The girl's shoulders were rounded and smooth, quite pretty. Guan Jie smiled.

He opened the wine bottle and poured half a glass of wine into each glass.

"Without ice, I had to leave the drinks out in the cold air to cool them down, hoping they'd still taste good." Guan Jie placed one of the drinks on the side of the table where the girl had been sitting.

"That's romantic, but I'm a money-lover. This little trick to fool middle schoolers isn't enough to make me abandon my beliefs, so don't expect me to give you a discount. Well, unless your performance later is as perfect as it is now, then I might do my best." The girl giggled, twisted her body to hang the bra strap on her shoulder, and then sat back in the chair.

"I pay by the hour, and I'm an honest and trustworthy person," Guan Jie said.

"Since that's the case, I'll just spend your money and drink your wine; it doesn't seem like I'm losing anything." The girl crossed her legs and slowly blinked her eyes, hidden beneath her long eyelashes, at Guan Jie.

A woman who knows how to flirt and understands men. Guan Jie toasted the girl.

The girl had a small, delicate face, the kind of face commonly seen in online photos; she would probably look great in pictures, but in reality, she lacked a certain something. However, the girl's cleverness made up for it. Guan Jie could tell that Mu Gua hadn't lied to him; she had indeed found him a clever girl.

After finishing her drink, the girl focused on eating half a box of duck necks, then used a toothpick to pick at the fruit in the transparent lunchbox. However, she only ate cantaloupe and didn't seem to like any other fruit.

With most of the cantaloupe gone, the girl finally slowed down.

"Speak up, handsome, what kind of information do you want to know?"

The girl looked down at the cantaloupe in her hand, then looked up at Guan Jie.

Guan Jie laughed. He hadn't expected that a girl in this line of work would be so insightful, even more so than a psychology student who had completed four years of undergraduate studies. If she were a police officer, she would definitely outshine hundreds of female officers.

"Do people often ask you for information?" Guan Jie filled the girl's glass with wine.

The girl threw away the toothpick, wiped her mouth with a tissue, and then picked up her wine glass and took a few sips.

"I sell meat, and I occasionally give directions to strangers." The girl snorted indifferently, "But you're the first fool to pay money to ask for directions."

"How did you figure out I was here to find out information?" Guan Jie asked with a smile, leaning back in his chair.

"A man who calls a girl over but is dressed so conservatively is either a pervert or has something going on." The girl raised an eyebrow, leaning towards Guan Jie across the table, her skirt almost completely covering her upper body.

"I don't think you're a pervert."

Guan Jie simply looked into the girl's eyes, and the girl shrank back, seemingly somewhat disappointed.

"Not even glancing at it, wow, truly a modern-day Liu Xiahui!" The girl covered her mouth and giggled.

"I'm not a saint, I can't remain unmoved by a woman in my lap." Guan Jie shook his head self-deprecatingly, picked up his wine glass and drank half of it. Watching the red liquid leave a mysterious purple layer on the glass, he raised the glass and said to the girl through the wine, "You are beautiful, you would make any man's heart flutter. But there is a girl in my heart, she lives inside me."

Guan Jie pointed to himself with the finger that wasn't holding the glass, then finished the remaining half glass of wine.

The girl frowned slightly, seemingly understanding, and grabbed the bottle to pour herself a glass.

"Damn it, you've ruined your business, and instead of enjoying your prime, you're spouting disgusting drivel. Are you fucking sick?" The girl finished her drink in one gulp, slammed the glass on the table, and then vigorously wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," Guan Jie said apologetically.

In fact, Guan Jie didn't know why the girl suddenly got angry.

"Who the hell doesn't have a sad past? Just because you say you do?" The girl chuckled dryly, her voice colder than the air conditioner in the room.

"I know what love is! Don't let my current status as a prostitute fool you; I was once naive and innocent too. But I wasn't as lucky as you, girl. The man who swore he loved me turned around and sold me off. And you know what? I was even helping him count the money! How stupid am I?"

Guan Jie didn't speak, but looked at the girl, waiting for her to tell her story.

"I don't hate him. Do you know why?" The girl continued after seeing Guan Jie shake his head. "I hated him a couple of years ago, but I can't hate him now because I don't love him anymore, so the hatred naturally disappears. I keep asking myself why I don't hate the man who led me down the wrong path. If it weren't for him, I might be sitting in some lousy university just getting credits, and after graduation I could find a rich man to marry and live a life where everyone calls me 'sister-in-law.'"

The girl, seemingly afraid Guan Jie wouldn't understand, explained, "When a man is successful, his woman is called 'sister-in-law,' but when he's not, she's called 'bitch.' You're a man, so you naturally know what kind of women men marry. The women you want to marry are educated, gentle, considerate, able to take care of the whole family, and not too beautiful. If they can be hardworking and dutiful, that's even better. Then, the man can freely go out and have fun. Don't think that a man marrying an average-looking woman means he truly loves his wife. Once he leaves his own home and closes the doors to other rooms, he immediately knows to pounce on beautiful women. Humph, I've seen it all."

The girl crossed her arms disdainfully, her upper lip curling upwards, almost touching her nose.

Guan Jie sighed softly, "I'm sorry, I made you think of something unpleasant."

The girl seemed to only just notice Guan Jie, lowered her arm, and waved her right hand in the air as if shooing away a mosquito in front of her.

"Oh dear, I got carried away." The girl giggled, as if she had been possessed by someone else, not the real her.

The girl resumed her flirtatious smile, apologetically coquettishly saying, "Handsome, my name is Xiao Fu, that's my real name. Most people only know me as Ali. I've already said too much nonsense, now it's your turn to talk."

"I owe you for the wine I drank. I'll tell you everything I know, without holding back," Xiao Fu added.
