Chapter 23 My Innocent Best Friend's Domineering CEO Boyfriend is Really Obsessive

After the Lu family banquet ended, Sang Huan's vacation also came to a close, and she returned to her post at the company.

Pei's order went smoothly, and the bonuses were paid out today. After get off work, the employees all made plans to go out for a small gathering with acquaintances. Sang Huan also prepared to go out with a good colleague.

The two chatted as they exited the elevator. The colleague immediately spotted the bouquet of vibrant roses next to the reception desk. She knew without a doubt whose it was, as she had seen the same bouquet and recipient for three consecutive days.

Without thinking much of it, assuming it was delivered by Sang Huan's boyfriend, her colleague couldn't help but tease her.

"Huanhuan, someone sent you flowers again today! Was it your boyfriend? He's really good to you."

Sang Huan followed her gaze and looked over. After seeing the bouquet of flowers, the faint smile in her delicate eyes deepened.

"It wasn't a gift from my boyfriend. Chen Chen and I have already broken up."

"Huh?" The colleague was a little surprised, but then realized what was going on.

That makes sense. If it really was a gift from her boyfriend, Sang Huan, with her love-struck mind, would have proudly shown it off to her.

Since they broke up, it must have been a gift from one of her suitors. Sang Huan is beautiful and gentle, so it's normal for her to have suitors.

Her colleague, being shrewd, didn't pry into her personal life but changed the subject, saying, "I got a pretty big bonus today, how about we go out for a get-together? I can introduce you to some of his friends?"

Sang Huan smiled and greeted the receptionist before picking up the flowers and walking over to wave to her colleagues.

"No need, I have plans for tonight, let's make plans another time."

She was beautiful, with fair and radiant skin. She wore a white beret, her black hair was casually draped behind her, and she wore a white coat with gold buttons. A blue scarf was wrapped around her long, slender, snow-white neck.

Her already fair and delicate face, illuminated by the vibrant roses, seemed to be bathed in a soft, rosy glow, making her even more charming and captivating.

My colleague was momentarily stunned, and by the time he came to his senses, he had already turned and left through the door.

She couldn't help but exclaim, "That was a good breakup!"

Sang Huan had shown her a picture of the man before. He was fairly fair-skinned and handsome, but the two were not in the same league at all. That man was not worthy of such a beautiful girl!

A light rain was falling from the sky, and a thick fog covered the horizon. Sang Huan stood at the intersection holding flowers, ready to take out her phone to hail a taxi.

A few days ago, Lin Xiaoyue suddenly barged into the banquet, and the gathering did not go smoothly. Lu Chenzhou even sent Sang Huan a red envelope to apologize, saying that the Lu family's security had failed to keep a close eye on the person, causing her to suffer.

This matter was not Lu Chenzhou's fault in the first place. Sang Huan could not accept a red envelope. In the end, it was only after Lu Chenzhou said, "If you don't accept it, you are angry with me," that she reluctantly accepted it and agreed to attend today's gathering.

It's not easy to get a taxi during rush hour. Sang Huan waited for almost ten minutes with the roses in her arms, but no taxi came.

With her delicate brows furrowed slightly, the girl bit her lip, hesitating whether to ask her father to arrange a driver to pick her up.

A black Maybach slowly pulled up in front of her, but Sang Huan was looking down at her phone and didn't notice.

As the tall figure drew closer, a familiar, refreshing fragrance wafted around them.

The girl blinked, her slender white fingers that were tapping on her phone paused, and she looked up to meet a pair of dark eyes as deep and cold as a pool.

After a moment of eye contact, Sang Huan looked away and silently moved away, trying to pretend she hadn't seen anything.

The man in front of her took a long stride and blocked her way again.

This happened several times in a row.

Sang Huan's face was expressionless, but her bright, watery eyes held a flicker of fire.

"Mr. Pei, what exactly do you want?"

Pei Yansheng lowered his eyes and looked at the girl.

Ever since they parted, he felt a tightness in his chest whenever he thought of the girl's tearful eyes.

Pei Yansheng had originally planned to give the girl an explanation after he finished dealing with Lin Xiaoyue's matter, but as time went on, the scene would automatically appear before his eyes whenever he closed them, and the burning longing would rage in his chest.

Pei Yansheng realized that when you truly like someone, your emotions are affected by their joys and sorrows.

Unable to concentrate on his work any longer, Pei Yansheng hastily finished his official duties and left work early, making sure to arrive at the vicinity of the girl's company early every day to keep an eye on her.

He watched her every move with a greedy and perverse gaze, like a monster lurking in the shadows, until she completely disappeared from sight.

His gaze lingered on that delicate and pretty face, and the man's long, slender fingers gripping the black fan handle tightened slightly, causing his Adam's apple to bob.

"The flowers are beautiful."

She was just as she had imagined, perfectly matching her.

Sang Huan frowned. "What exactly do you want?"

The impatient and distant tone made Pei Yansheng's breath catch in his throat, and the starlight in his eyes dimmed slightly. He turned his gaze, his tone unreadable.

"I was invited to the gathering of those who were going to the shipwreck site. They told me that since I couldn't get a taxi, they would come and pick me up since it was on their way."

Was it really just on the way?

Sang Huan didn't expose her. She had indeed sent a message to Lu Chenzhou saying that she couldn't get a taxi, and Pei Yansheng's excuse was plausible.

"Alright, let's go then."

Even though it was just a few simple words, the pent-up frustration in Pei Yansheng's chest suddenly dissipated.

"it is good."

He held up an umbrella and walked side by side with Sang Huan, then opened the passenger door.

Sang Huan glanced at him, but ultimately said nothing and went inside.

After everyone was seated, Pei Yansheng turned around, went to the driver's seat, folded up the umbrella, and got into the car.

The black Maybach started up again and slowly drove into the rain, following the flow of traffic.

Not far away, the woman who witnessed this scene had a contorted expression. She clenched her palms tightly, and a fierce glint of jealousy flashed in her eyes.

"Sang! Huan!"

She won't let her get away with this!

The car was silent. Pei Yansheng drove quietly, and Sang Huan placed the roses she was holding at her feet and looked out the window.

Huanhuan.

A deep, husky voice sounded in her ear. Sang Huan paused for a moment, then pretended not to hear and continued looking out the window.

"I'm sorry about what happened last time. Lin Xiaoyue and I have already broken up. I didn't expect her to suddenly show up."

"So?" Sang Huan suddenly interrupted him, not giving Pei Yansheng a chance to react, and continued.

"Regardless, Mr. Pei, Lin Xiaoyue and I used to be best friends. I don't want to pry into your relationship with her. I also don't want to be labeled a homewrecker, Mr. Pei. Please keep your distance from me, okay?"

Sang Huan's tone was stubborn, and in a daze, Pei Yansheng seemed to have returned to that night.

The words he had thought of countless times vanished from his mind. The heavy rain outside the window intensified, pounding incessantly on the windshield, as if striking his heart.

The silence between the two remained unbroken until the car stopped in front of the clubhouse.

Pei Yansheng got out of the car silently, took an umbrella and opened it for Sang Huan. Sang Huan ignored the bouquet of roses at her feet. The car door opened, and she ran into the clubhouse through the rain.

Pei Yansheng looked at the bouquet of flowers and the figure running away, his thin lips pressed into a straight line.
