Chapter 79 Open Class! The Pokémon Pokédex Makes its Dazzling Debut!

"Quiet."

Professor McGonagall stood up, her voice not loud, but carrying an invisible authority.

The commotion in the auditorium subsided as quickly as if it had been drawn away, and thousands of eyes focused on Viktor.

"Thank you to all the professors and students for attending on time."

Viktor stepped forward, his gentle yet clear voice carrying to every corner.

"I'm sure everyone is curious about what today's special open class is all about."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the faces filled with youthful curiosity.

"In the field of magical animal conservation, the transmission of knowledge is certainly important, but true understanding, respect and care often stem from personal contact and emotional connection."

"However, for safety and feasibility reasons, we cannot allow every student to interact closely with so many magical animals at any time."

"Therefore, my assistants and I—" He turned to the side, gesturing to Tom on his shoulder, and to George and Fred, who were sitting at the front of the Gryffindor table, trying to remain calm but with gleaming eyes.

We've been working together on this little thing for some time now.

He picked up a red and white picture book and held it up high.

We call it the "Pokémon Pokédex".

Before he finished speaking, he had already gently unfastened the clasp of the suitcase in front of him with his other hand.

There were no incantations or complicated movements.

Just as the lid was opened a crack, a "buzz" sounded.

A gentle yet irresistible suction force suddenly burst forth from the suitcase!

"Whoa—!"

"What's going on?!"

Exclamations of surprise rang out instantly.

All the young wizards in the hall, whether sitting or standing up in surprise, seemed to be gently lifted up by an invisible hand.

Then they transformed into blurry figures, exclaiming and laughing, drawn by the suction force and swiftly thrown towards the seemingly small suitcase entrance!

The professors were clearly aware of the situation beforehand or were mentally prepared; apart from a few who showed surprise, they did not object.

Dumbledore chuckled and was the first to float up, as if riding an invisible elevator.

Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, her body slightly tense but remaining calm.

Professor Snape's black robes billowed, his face darkening further, but he still allowed the suction to pull him away—

In just over ten seconds, the Hogwarts Great Hall, which had been bustling with activity and packed with people, became completely empty!

Only the burning fireplace, the high-hanging courtyard flag, and the scattered tableware on the long table remain as evidence of the lively atmosphere just moments before.

Sunlight still streamed through the stained-glass windows, illuminating the sudden silence.

The interior of the suitcase's extended space.

On a vast meadow, meticulously sculpted by magic, like a natural garden magnified many times over.

The soft grass blades were damp with dew, and the surrounding area was the edge of a simulated, lush magical forest.

In the distance, the outlines of mountains and floating clouds are faintly visible. The air is fresh and filled with the fragrance of plants and soil.

The sky was a soft, milky-white magical canopy, providing even and bright light.

"Thump!"

"Ouch!"

"Merlin, where is this—"

The Hogwarts students and teachers who had just been "absorbed" were now sitting, standing, or stumbling as they steadied themselves on this strange grassy field.

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

The younger wizards, especially the first and second-year students who had never been here before, were completely stunned by the sight before them.

They stared wide-eyed and gaped, marveling at the "wilderness" environment that was so different from the castle.

"Are we in the suitcase? That suitcase?"

"Look over there! There really are mountains! And forests!"

"The grass is real! The soil is real too!"

"This is amazing! Can the Seamless Stretching Charm really do this?"

The younger wizards were also filled with awe and curiosity as they looked around at the legendary "Professor Scamander's Moving Space".

The professors were also observing their surroundings.

Professor Sprout crouched down, picked up a bit of soil with his fingers, sniffed it lightly, and showed a professional expression of admiration.

"The perfect ratio of humus, and the simulation of trace amounts of magical plant secretions—an amazing ecological construct."

Professor Flitwick floated to a tree, tapped the trunk with his little wand, and listened to the echo.

"Structurally stable, with natural magical flow—it's not just a transformation spell, but a fusion of advanced spatial solidification and weather magic!"

Professor Snape remained expressionless, but his dark eyes sharply scanned his surroundings, seemingly assessing the level of magical protection and potential risks.

Dumbledore stood there with a smile, as if he were just an old wizard on a beautiful holiday in the countryside.

But the blue eyes observed every detail of the space with profound insight.

Especially that feeling of being completely integrated with Victor's magic, yet subtly resonating with the outside world.

Victor and Tom were the last to appear, standing calmly on a slightly raised grassy slope in front of the group, as if they were the masters of this space.

As the teachers and students below gradually recovered from their shock and refocused their attention, Victor tapped his throat with his wand.

"A loud and clear voice."

"Welcome to my world! My mobile research lab and home to some magical animal companions."

His gentle voice echoed in the space.

"This place is more spacious than the auditorium, which will be more conducive to our lesson today."

He raised the Pokédex again, then waved his wand and cast a projection spell, enlarging the Pokédex in his hand into mid-air.

"As I just mentioned, this is the Pokédex." Its function goes far beyond simply being an electronic record of animal information.

Victor began to explain in detail, starting with the infusion of magic and the signing of a contract with blood, and then moving on to gamified learning methods such as virtual exploration, encyclopedia collection, and affinity cultivation.

And finally, the possibility of forming a partnership with real magical creatures.

His explanations were clear and easy to understand, and with the help of gestures and illustrations on the screen, he packaged the complex principles of magic into fun and intuitive operations.

The young wizards listened with rapt attention, especially when they heard about the chance to actually summon magical creature companions; countless eyes lit up with longing.

"Of course, all of this is inseparable from the hard work of my two excellent assistants."

Viktor changed the subject, smiling as he looked in the direction of the twins.

"George Weasley, Fred Weasley, and my old partner Tom have put in tremendous effort over the past two weeks to perfect this project and produce the first batch of illustrations. Let us thank them."

A burst of enthusiastic applause erupted instantly, especially in the area where the Gryffindor table was located, where the applause was particularly loud, mixed with whistles and cheers.

Percy Weasley stood up excitedly and shouted, "Those are my brothers! Well done, George! Fred!"

His face was full of pride.

The twins stood up under everyone's gaze, trying their best to look cool.

But their bright smiles and slightly red ears betrayed them.

They stepped forward and came to Viktor's side, and at the same time, their figures appeared in the projection in mid-air.

"Now, let George and Fred demonstrate what it's like to interact with your magical animal companion."

At Viktor's prompting, the twins each took out their own encyclopedia entries and skillfully manipulated them for a few moments.

George's encyclopedia screen lit up, and the Pixel Sniff popped up.

On Fred's screen, Pixel Kabora, a fluffy, misty little ghost, spun playfully.

The two men almost simultaneously hissed, "Come out, my partner!"

The light flickered.

The round, chubby sniffle reappeared on George's shoulder, nuzzling him affectionately.

Then, it curiously looked at the dark mass of people below, raised the silver shiko in its paw as if showing it off.

On Fred's shoulder, Kebora materialized like wisps of smoke.

Its fluffy, silvery-gray, misty body floated slightly in the air, and its shimmering, bright eyes and crescent-shaped "mouth" revealed a mischievous expression.

It made a tinkling sound like a wind chime and quickly circled around Fred.

Then it extended a wisp of downy whisker and quickly brushed the red hair on Fred's forehead, making Fred laugh out loud. It also emitted a cheerful, chuckle-like bell sound.

"Wow--!!!"

The appearance of real magical creatures is more convincing than any explanation.

The entire venue erupted in cheers! Exclamations, exclamations of admiration, and envious shouts filled the air.

Many young wizards stood up excitedly, craning their necks to get a better look.

The professors smiled and applauded in response.

Professor McGonagall looked at the two magical creatures with very different personalities but equally close to their owner on the twins' shoulders, and a noticeable smile curved her stern lips, her eyes full of satisfaction.

Professor Snape raised an eyebrow, seemingly having mixed feelings about the Niffler's greedy nature and Keppelin's obvious mischievousness, but he didn't say anything.

Dumbledore clapped the most enthusiastically and even winked at the twins.

Enjoying the moment of being the center of attention, the twins exchanged a glance, and then dramatically turned around in unison, bowing deeply to the crowd below. Their exaggerated movements, imbued with their unique sense of humor, drew even louder laughter and applause.

"Alright, quiet down." Victor waited until the applause subsided before speaking again, "I know everyone's been waiting impatiently. So now..." He waved his wand.

The large boxes behind them suddenly opened, revealing hundreds of neatly arranged red and white illustrations inside. Like a flock of birds awakened, they shimmered with light and took flight together!

Under the influence of magic, they flew precisely and steadily towards every student on the lawn, as well as every professor present.

"Every student and every professor will receive a first-generation Pokédex for free." Viktor's voice came clearly.

"Please infuse a wisp of magic as I just explained to complete this simple contract. This will be your first step in exploring the world of magical creatures and forging a connection with your potential future magical animal companions."

"Please note that once the contract is established, please treat your Pokédex with care, and treat every Pokémon you encounter within it with respect and love. They are not data, but projections and bridges corresponding to real life."

"Let's begin!"

As he finished speaking, the red and white encyclopedia floating in front of everyone simultaneously lit up with a soft, milky-white light.

The cheerful startup sound effects "ding-ding-ding-ding-ding" rang out one after another, and the pixel-style "Pokémon" title flashed, as if extending a silent invitation.

The next moment, the entire space was engulfed by an even greater sound wave!

"Mine is lit up! Look!"

"How do I infuse it with magic? Oh, I see!"

"What does this button do?"

"I opened the encyclopedia! It has a Bowtruckle in it! And there's even a description!"

"Look, my Niffler is wagging its tail at me!"

"My Kabora is making faces on the screen!"

"Mine is a rune snake!"

The young wizards couldn't wait to try it out. Exclamations, laughter, discussions, and various sound effects from the encyclopedia intertwined, creating a symphony full of life and surprise.

The professors were also engrossed in arranging their own illustrated guides.

Professor Flitwick attempted to communicate with the fluffy pixelated figures in his encyclopedia.

Professor Sprout carefully read the section on herbs and their symbiosis with magical creatures.

Even Professor Snape had a dark expression, but his fingers were swiping across the small screen, seemingly looking at entries linking some potion ingredients to magical creature products.

Headmaster Dumbledore smiled and had successfully summoned the pixelated image of himself who had signed a contract with Fawkes after returning home.

A pixelated little animal, resembling a phoenix chick, is playing a simple interactive game with it, laughing like a child.

Victor stood on the grassy slope, Tom on his shoulder nodding smugly, his emerald cat eyes watching the bustling scene below with satisfaction.

The sunlight shone softly on him, and on each of the little wizards who were engrossed in their new "toys" and whose faces were filled with curiosity and excitement.

Sprinkle it on those small, red and white devices that symbolize new possibilities.

Viktor's gaze slowly swept over the crowd gathered here because of him, over the space he had created and continued to expand.

Finally, it seemed as if they had broken through the barriers of space and looked into the depths that were gradually resonating with the ancient magical network of Hogwarts.

The bridge has already been erected.

The seeds have been sown.

The future is quietly being conceived amidst this noisy and hopeful laughter.

The open class concluded successfully in an atmosphere of great success.

When Victor reopened the suitcase entrance, "sending" the reluctant teachers and students back to the Hogwarts Great Hall, everyone had an excited blush on their faces, clutching their own red and white compendium tightly, and enthusiastically sharing their experiences and discoveries with their companions.

It is foreseeable that for a long time to come, "Pokémon Pokédex", "virtual bonds", and "summoning partners" will be the hottest topics at Hogwarts.

The name of Professor Victor Scamander, and the legend of the Weasley twins and Tom "the eldest," will also be deeply ingrained in the hearts of every young wizard through these small red and white devices.

October at Hogwarts is therefore exceptionally different.

New stories, new connections, and new possibilities are flourishing in this ancient castle, carried on the crisp autumn winds of the Scottish Highlands.
