Wizard: I have ten trillion nanomachines
Chapter 66 Visiting
Soon, the sharp clanging of metal came to an abrupt end in the shadows of the street corner.
From the first scream to the last body collapsing heavily to the ground, it took no more than half a minute.
When Luo Kunlun sheathed his sword, the blood droplets on the blade didn't even have time to drip off before sliding down the cold, hard spine and into the dust on the ground, leaving a small, dark mark.
He can now sprint 100 meters in just three seconds, just like a car speeding by. How can these thugs outrun him?
The bandits wielding machetes didn't even have a chance to react.
The brief sounds of fighting went unnoticed by anyone.
The doors and windows along the street were tightly closed. Occasionally, a curtain would flutter slightly, but only if someone peeked through the crack and quickly withdrew.
The principle of minding one's own business is to stay out of trouble; meddling in other people's business will only bring trouble upon oneself.
It was nothing more than a brawl between desperate criminals.
Luo Kunlun crouched down and began searching the spoils. These bandits made a living on the edge, mostly believing in living for the moment. They would spend their money on alcohol and women, and usually didn't keep much valuables on them.
But this group was different; each of them had sharp eyes and ruthless moves, clearly elite members rather than ordinary henchmen.
The more capable they are, the more they tend to plan ahead and keep some money to deal with emergencies; this is the only pragmatic thing they have left in their hearts.
He casually tossed a few silver and gold coins aside, eventually settling on a few point cards engraved with intricate patterns.
The average bandit had no more than three points in total, while the leader, the burly man Fang Lang, whom he killed with a single sword strike, had seventeen points.
Luo Kunlun carefully collected all the game cards; the total was exactly twenty points.
"They're quite wealthy," he muttered to himself, his fingertips tracing the rough surface of the prepaid card. "But for me, it's still too little."
He didn't even glance at the metal currency and weapons before turning and leaving the street corner where the smell of blood was growing stronger.
Next, it's time to find the mayor of Avan Town.
The cyborg he killed claimed to have a personal relationship with Mayor Vollo.
The name "Mountain Tooth Gang" came out of the cyborg's mouth, and it seemed to be a bandit gang. Luo Kunlun had no clue, but perhaps the town mayor could provide the answer.
In the eastern part of the town, a house stands out from the crowd; it is the best house in town.
The candlelight flickered inside, casting ambiguous shadows. Mayor Vollow was reclining on a soft couch, his beautiful mistress Beth in his arms.
The mortals in this world have extremely limited entertainment options. In the evening, besides sleeping, the only pastime they can find is sexual activity.
Vollo looked to be in his early twenties, with a handsome face, a slender figure, and fair skin.
No one knew that he was actually thirty-seven years old. The reason he could maintain such a youthful appearance was because he spent a lot of money to exchange for a youth potion from the camp when he was young, which forcibly froze his appearance in his prime.
Beth's soft arms wrapped around his neck, her lips brushing against his earlobe, her voice sweet and cloying: "Master, look at you, you're getting younger and younger, you're making everyone else pale in comparison. When are you going to get me a youth potion? I want to stay young like you forever."
"Haha, you little slut," Vollo patted her cheek, his fingertips carrying a perfunctory gentleness, his tone relaxed, "If you behave well, I'll get you a share next time I go to camp."
In his heart, however, he had already cursed Beth a thousand times: "You slut, you don't know your place! The youth potion is so precious, it takes a lot of game time to get it, and you dare to say you're worthy? Do you think you're made of gold?"
Just as the two were getting intimate, a guard cautiously announced from outside the door: "Master, someone at the door wants to see you."
"Who is it?" Vollo frowned, his interest interrupted, and his tone became somewhat impatient.
"I don't know. That person said he knew you. It was too dark to see his face clearly, but I know he was a tall man, standing at the door like an iron tower."
Vollo's eyes lit up, and a knowing smile appeared on his lips: "It must be my old friend Garo who has returned. It seems he has succeeded."
"Sir!" Beth suddenly sat up, her innocent charm fading slightly, replaced by a hint of worry. "You're the mayor now, your status is different. Please don't get involved with those gangs again, it will have a bad impact if word gets out."
"I want a peaceful life."
As he spoke, he grabbed a thick cloak and draped it over his shoulders, then got up to leave.
"Hey, you little bitch, you dare to point fingers at me?" Vollow feigned anger, put on a black robe, and chased after her, but didn't actually stop Beth.
He was already making plans in his mind. He had finally managed to buy the position of town mayor and had no desire to get entangled with gangs like the Mountain Fang Gang anymore. He would take this opportunity to clear things up with Ya Lang and say goodbye to the past completely.
The door creaked open, and Beth had barely stepped out when she met a pair of cold eyes.
The man at the door was tall and imposing, his black clothes fluttering in the wind. He held a large sword in his hand, its cold light so sharp it was blinding.
"Ah—!" A piercing scream tore through the night sky. Beth was so frightened that her whole body stiffened, her legs went weak, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
Upon seeing who it was, Vollo's smile froze instantly, his pupils contracted, and he exclaimed in shock, "You're not Garo!"
The newcomer was none other than Luo Kunlun. He didn't waste any words; his figure moved so fast it was almost a blur.
The sword whistled through the air as it aimed straight for Vollo's right arm.
He wanted to keep them alive to get information about the Mountain Fang Gang. That gang might have a lot of money.
In that critical moment, Vollo had only one thought in his mind. Almost instinctively, he reached out and grabbed Beth, who was already terrified, and shoved her towards the blade.
"Block it for me!"
After those cold words, Vollow didn't even glance back at Beth's fate before turning and running wildly into the house, wanting to escape as quickly as possible.
The sound of the blade piercing flesh was as soft as a sigh. Beth's screams came to an abrupt halt, and warm blood splattered on Luo Kunlun's cheek. He didn't even blink, continuing his pursuit in the direction Vollo had fled.
